bunnyfoo--You are are doing great! Are you following any kind of training plan or just following your body?? We will see you at the Minnie!
Wow!!!! I'm so glad I stopped by this morning. You are all so supportive of one another. I was feeling kind of lazy this morning after getting the kiddos off, but now I have the motivation to get down on that treadmill.![]()
Judy said:Vic - Oh I hope you are feeling better. Is Nurse Marilyn giving you lots of TLC??
CONGRATULATIONS **REAL** GIANTS FANS!!! (I guess that now includes Giantsf/k/aSteelersSteve--gotta love a guy who sticks with a winner.)
I appreciate those expressing support, but no need. The Patriots had a great season (other than the last game of course) and as a life long Patriots and Red Sox fan, I wouldn't give up this decade for anything (especially seeing how well the teams did from 1919 through 2000). As to the Patriots, that includes a colorful past with ownership by the Sullivan family and Victor "Would You Buy a Razor from This Guy" Kiam and coaching stints by, among other NFL luminaries, Rod Rust and Dick McPhearson.
Please indulge me though as I express some personal thoughts on yesterdays events. My highlights of yesterday include:
*DD#2, after the game was over, quieting a group of disgruntled (adult) Patriots fans arguing over whether it was the offense's fault or the defense's fault the team lost by stating: "They are a team. The whole team wins and the whole team loses."(Maybe some things I say do get through.)
*Watching Big Ben (go Steelers) make a fool out of himself in a commercial and realizing things are good as a Patriots fan. We were in the Super Bowl and even in the years our team hasn't made it, Patriots players making millions of dollars a year don't embarrass themselves or the organization for the sake of making a few extra bucks.
*The Patriots were involved in another riveting Super Bowl that was not decided until the end.
*The Mayor of Boston doesn't have to worry about when to hold the parade and whether it will conflict with the Presidential primaries.
Weekend low lights include:
* A US Senator (from the Commonwealth where the Steelers call home), during a time when US military personnel are deployed around the world and are making the ultimate sacrifice, the nation's economy is going in the tank, and gas, home heating oil and related petroleum product prices are out of control, grand-stands and decides that the US Senate really needs to spend time holding hearings on why the NFL destroyed game films taken out in the open by the Patriots in violation of an NFL rule (not in violation of the US Constitution or any Federal law, regulation, guideline, suggestion or wish) and equates such a henious act to the CIA (a Federal government agency) destroying evidence. Man, things must be going really well and things must be slow in DC and the rust-belt.
*Coach Bill walking off the field with time left on the clock. I know it was only 1 second, but you stay until the game is over, win or lose, especially when you are the head coach and representing the organization.
*Not trying to single out Coach Bill (even though the Patriots were, IMHO, outcoached), but what was up with the new red hoodie? As soon as I saw him wearing it, I said he jinxed the team. He needed to wear the old, ratty, gray hoodie, even if it was the Super Bowl.
Now I can hunker down on my distance event career (at least until Red Sox pitchers and catchers report to spring training in approximately 9 days 20 hours and 20 minutes).

Matter of fact, I'm still trying to figure out just what the heck DID I do this weekend. It was a blur of activity and chaos.
I can't wait until later this week when Andrew is recognized at his Court of Honor for having attained "Life" rank. I am very proud of him and his efforts.
Judy -- You've got me waiting with breathless anxiety for those webcasts to start, and you keep turning up the intrigue and heat as well.![]()
