I'm still catching up, as it sounds like lots of things are going on here that I've missed. And I'm glad that so many of them involve happy news. Again, forgive me if I overlook something important.
Week of April 6
Mel: I agree with Dave. Your dedication to WISHers, in time, effort, and patience, is incredible!
Aloha Jeff: I'm so sorry to hear about the death of your friends' fathers and of your childhood friend's death. That's a lot of sad news. I hope you spend some family time with The Queen and the Princesses--I know how close you all are and I believe that you will be comforted by their presence. Know that my thoughts are with you, too.
Vic: It doesn't seem quite fair, that you live where you do and still have to use the TM. But it does make us kindred spirits.
Craig: I don't know, I think you've got a strategy there for the Minnie, sneaking up on your PR like that. And perhaps your hot & humid training is the running equivalent of Bikram yoga? I think you could market that idea, btw!
Claire: I like your non-Garmin plan for enjoying the current runs. I'm not sure I could do it if I owned that toy. Good job on the 10 miler and the miler. Is that Folklore & Fantasy class one that you're teaching or taking? Just curious.
Cindy: Gee, I hope it's not a stress fracture, and will keep my fingers crossed for the orthopedic appointment. Good to hear that you're still hopeful for Minnie, though.
Julie: That's right--the FABULOUS Team Ohana. I second that! Julie, btw, is a great team member who needs just a little encouragement to do the ToT race (and ride). Just ask her why I say that.
Kristi: Angie, Chad, and Lisa: WTG with the Great Bay 1/2! It sounds like a great experience, blisters notwithstanding. Kristi, you sound like a dancing fool--and I mean that with affection!
Kristi: I think your plan for PRing a 5K sounds like an excellent idea with everything going on in your life right now.
Krista: It sounds like the baby's room is really coming together.
CarolA: I'm glad you were able to offer your friend support this weekend.

And yea for your run/job combo & the 6 miles.
Kira: WTG on the run--that's quite a difference in pace. Woo hoo! Let us know how you like your new Garmin.
Angie: I'm glad to hear your calf is feeling better. Now, having been in WDW during their Sunday of rain, I must say that I think you're slightly certifiable to run in any similar conditions. OTOH, your pace shows that it certainly seems to work for you, rust-proof Iron Girl!
You and DS make great WISH models, btw. And as for the big new--Congratulations on getting the job and for starting so soon!!
Martha: Great job with your runs and biking, especially trying to work around your job right now. Somebody owes you much more than caffeine. They owe you sleep & they should do 3 miles in your name! Are you following Craig's hot & humid training program?
Tracy: Wow! Great job on getting your training in while at WDW. I was there during that time, too. How did you avoid Sunday's rain??? (You must have been up far earlier than I was!) Plus you got today's 3 miler in, in less-than-favorable conditions. You're gonna do great at the Minnie!
Scott: You like Gu? Ewwww. But if it works for you.... Okay, okay, enough of my inner Dr. Suess expressed outwardly. Your 10-mile base building sounds like an excellent plan for the Goofy, btw. Especially the rest days--which you seem to be particularly enjoying while you're biking 39 mph!
Lily: What a great training weekend and week, from the walk to the pace to the Pilates DVD to the swimming. You're really going to have a strong Minnie!
Original Bill: Get well soon. Or die trying.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist. I do hope you feel better.)
Maura: I have no doubts you'll run your first 1/2, as signing up is a great motivator (as you said). Besides, you had to sign up--the race filled so quickly!
Cecilia: I'm glad you enjoyed Run Fatboy Run; I was a little cool on it. (Maybe the blister scene was too close to my own experience. Hah!) I do hope you find your motivation soon, because I just know you're going to push yourself at the CCM.
Judy: I hope you feel better & are cough-free soon! And I happen to believe your 30 minute run, no matter the pace, indicates you're on the mend. I never laughed at your foam roller, btw, because you never laughed at my rolling pin.
Carrie: Awww, you're such a sap.

And you're my kind of people--the WISH kind. Hey, maybe you need to give the body a mini-spa treat before the Minnie? You know, to let it know you're serious about both the PR & the reward. In the meantime, I'm sure your body will appreciate the yoga (and the Chi Running).
Christa: I believe you asked because you know the answer. You'd be careful not to use the resources, and not to be that kind of race bandit. But you're uncomfortable with it--so signing up is in your best interests.
Leana: Good for you--not only for listening to your body's need to get some rest, but then for doing your LR so that your mind could rest easy. Even in recovery mode, you're a strong woman. I also believe your running mojo is coming back, despite the bronchitis. And WTG on biking to work.
Cam:

I'm so stoked to hear from you, but disappointed that you might not be able to do the Minnie. With so much on your plate, I'm amazed you're still getting training in, and keeping such a positive attitude about the Minnie no matter what the outcome. Finally, Yay for Howard's upcoming graduation and for DD & BF's seriousness.
Amy: Of course you had a character-building run. Because you're, um, quite the character!

Your whole run sounds like a Perils of Pauline movie, with the cliffhangers. Of course, it's without mustachioed villain, but I think the mud pit made up for that. I do hope your next trail run is much easier--you've earned a really good run after this one!
Kristen: Married at 20???? Half the time, I couldn't even remember the name of my BF du jour when I was 20yo. (I may have had a maturity issue.

) I'm so looking forward to meeting you in January.
Liz: I'm certain that you'll beat the sweepers at the Minnie. I'm also certain that if you have any doubts, one of our WISHers will be there with you, every step of the way. That's just how this team is.
Christa: I hope your hips are feeling better. About riding & watching
TLM: Do you find you ride faster doing the songs? Funny story, I was watching a horror movie while riding the stationary bike, and I'll be darned if I didn't ride faster during the scary parts. Of course, my HR was already up & so that wasn't a great idea....

I could use your suggestions on a trainer sometime.
Tracey: I don't experience the guilt, as I'm child-free, but I would imagine your DS14 totally understands (as does DH and the rest of the kids, each in in their own way). I think it gives your family the kind of experiences that bond you--through the races as participants & spectators, your use of the inspirational quotes, etc. Besides, I bet all the men in your life love the athletic you. Alas, no advice, just support.
Allyson: It's so great that you and DH are taking this journey together. And together, you'll get through W4 (which is scary)!
Jackie: I think it's great that you're enjoying your running now, pre-Galloway training season, no matter how many runs you're doing or how long they are. How does your canine running partner feel about things?
Jen: I can't believe it's snowing again. You must have gotten hit by the same storm that ND & MN received. That's awful--I remember living in Fargo & getting inches in April. I was so depressed, kept threatening to drink the Draino. I'm super impressed with how you keep moving without giving in to despair. Great run, too! About your brother....

I hope there's a funny story in there somewhere, but I kind of doubt it.
Stephanie:
for your good run. I hope you have many more this week & month! (And that pace would be great/unbelievable for me!)
As for me: Whew! There was so much good news to catch up on--and sad news, too,

--that I just don't have the energy to post my story about my WDW birthday celebration. I'll try to do that tomorrow, after I sort through some fuzzy details, change the names to protect the innocent & avoid lawsuits, and figure out how much you really need to know.

Besides, I'm under a lot of pressure to be witty & wise, as befitting this new decade. I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge.
I will tell you one thing, though. This is the first trip I've ever taken where I ended up with a live bird hanging out in my hotel room. (I say crow, DOOD says starling. It was a big black bird.) And on my birthday. Think it was an omen?
