So many posts, so little time. I'm gonna break this up because I wouldn't want to miss anyone.
From last week's thread:
Howard: "Opportunity cost"? Oh, you're so ready to graduate. I needed to google that to make sure it was what I thought it was. It was, whew! I do understand, and appreciate, the importance of a whole-grain Minnie Muffin, though!
Craig: Thanks for well wishes on the running and the flat-hunting--both are much appreciated. And it would be doubly appreciated if you could keep up the good thoughts while we continue to search for the perfect space in Pittsburgh, in the Squirrel Hill area. I KNOW your good thoughts helped me through my run, almost as much as your good advice!
Like this, which I'm going to use post-1/2 and before my marathon training:
Tracy: The foam roller on your abs? Do tell! I've used rollers with the arms and legs, but not the abs. Of course, that could be because I tend to avoid the core work. (Must...do...Pilates...tonight.) I'm with you on the flash forward, and think it's related to all the references to time & rule breaking. I need to rewatch the Lost eppy, because I think those Sayid's wife's coffin is separate from the one Jack visits.
P.S. Has your Eye2Eye shirt come yet?
Vic: Vroom, vroom. Buy one of those stock cars for your 2nd childhood, and share it with Timmy & me!
Jackie: Wow, the players for Chelsea and Man U are certainly as spirited as the fans. I've been trying to follow the post-game scuffle, and am still unclear as to what precisely happened. The game, though, I have to admit we celebrated a bit. (And the Chelsea fandom for DOOD goes back to his nostalgia for his undergrad study-abroad days, so I hope that gets a little slack with your DH.
) Great job with working on your form work on Friday afternoon--that's such hard work. And I do think you'll see a difference when you incorporate Chi Running techniques, too! As with Carol, I'd love to hear more about your RW strategies/training.
Allie: 6 miles!
That's great--and your time was, too! I'm also impressed that you have this "in the moment" attitude where you savor each new experience. You'll get the hang of the sports beans, I'm sure. They're an acquired taste and consuming them takes some practice. But, as you said, you don't need to worry about keep track of what the Garmin does, so you can focus on fueling. Yay!
Amy: Sweet 3 miler on Friday. See, you're getting runs in that make up for the stonkers! How much eyeliner was Navarro wearing, btw? Just curious.
Monte/Monica: Geesh. Now that's a substantial winter season. You must be itching to get out, especially since many of us here are talking about getting outside and even worrying about the heat.
Aloha Jeff: I just want to second Jeff's call for Minnie Pictures and to echo his well wishes for everyone!
CarolA: How is your calf feeling? And I'd love to hear more about your Galloway group and its training.
Kim: Great news about finishing your first 1/2.
And jazzed! Hah--how appropriate to be "jazzed" for the Music City event. Very clever! And it's cool to hear about more WISH kids getting bit by the running bug.
And I think you did a great job. The race was great, with the time you log being secondary. What's important is that you feel energized & ready to do more!
Angie: It really sounds like your new work schedule is going to leave you with more time and energy for the rest of your life.
I'm glad you're able to find XT activities that will help keep you from getting hurt--and am amazed that you're finding benefits in the elliptical, as you've hated it for so long. Yay for being smart in your recovery process--and double
for your DH always having your back. (Hah!)
Jen: You and Monte/Monica both deserve to win lottery tickets to some sunny resort place. I'm glad you have Butt Kicker to keep you company and/or in training.
As for me: I'm going to break up my weekend to match the posts, so if you want to know what I did you'll just have to read them all.
Saturday was my 10-miler, which I was looking forward to after this odd WO week. I didn't push myself as hard as I might have liked, and used my RW strategy to offset the slight problems breathing with all the pollen. (I didn't have allergies until about 5 years ago...
) Anyway, I was happy to finish feeling as good as I did, even if I was a little disappointed by the time: 1:57 and some change. The day went well, I thought, right up until that night, when DOOD & I....
And you'll just have to wait until the next installment of The Perils of Pauline, er, Debra.

Build with lots of easy runs, and a few shorter and quicker, and longer and even easier efforts. Before you know it you'll be back on form.
