Good Morning Everyone!
I am so jealous of all of you that get to meet up at WDW this weekend! I hope the weather is perfect for all of you.
I saw a sign at CMM this weekend that I think wins the best sign ever made for a marathon. It had a picture of two red glittered running shoes and said "click your heels." The other great sight were the three teens that had MOM spelled out on their chests. The two on the end kept doing handstands so that it flashed "WOW" then "MOM"
Cecilia's new soapbox stand:
I cheered at the finish line for hours and I want to make a big notice here:
Put your name on the front of your shirt.
Not just for you but for the runners around you. You would not believe how much louder the crowd cheers for someone with their name on their shirt. And they keep cheering for several minutes after so other runners get the effect too.
I ran in my TNT mentor shirt and since I wasn't mentoring this race, I put tape over the words mentor and wrote my name on the front and "for my dad" on the back. Dh and my running partner loved how people cheered for me on the course. They got as much of a boost as I did.
But as a screamer, it really helps to see that name. You get tired of screaming the same thing over and over. Plus, I was amazed at how many people smiled when they heard their name. I moved in front of the cameras so I could get people to look up and smile for their pictures.
You can have your name put on a shirt for about $3 at a sports store. Or you can iron the letters on, I think
Walmart sells iron on letters. Personally, the puffy painted names just don't show up well enough and are hard to read quick enough to get cheers in.
Stepping off the soapbox now.
