Allyson: Oooh, seeing the start to a marathon. It's so exciting! Be careful--the feeling is highly contagious! That's when the whole idea that I might someday want to do was embedded in my brain.
Lily: Wow, triple-dipping on the outdoor exercise!

I'm glad you're enjoying your girly skirt; I play with the idea, but not sure how I feel about showing that much leg.
Scott: Vanilla isn't bland! It's classic, it's subtly sophisticated, the confident person's ice-cream of choice. It's the white shirt of ice cream, always appropriate, always tasteful (tasty). Vanilla is th foundation os so many good things--sundaes, banana splits, mllkshakes. It's both a comfort choice & the cutting-edge choice for hipsters who know to eschew the flavor of the week. I think it's a perfect choice for you and for Scott's World!

Woo hoo, Scott's World, party time!

But do I understand you that you attribute refreshed legs to time on the elliptical? Yo, Chicago Mike--you hear that?
Aloha Jeff: Hey, it's still a good idea. And I love that people are getting their names on their shirts!

I'll eventually be able to put together names with handles, faces, and stories!
Maura: Don't worry--you'll get your bling. And what better way to be able to brag about the destination than by talking about all the obstacles on the journey--isn't that what the best travel narratives do? Talk about the trials overcome & the inner strength discovered? Gotta love a good story with a lot of conflict!
Carrie (and Scott): Yeah, DOOD and I watched the Nova Marathon Challenge & thought lots of what they showed was cool. But we also wondered why they omitted some training issues. We wondered if the team was sponsored by Tufts for a research study and hence the focus on some things?
Carrie, you are one heck of a scrapbooker! What an eye for color & composition!
Liz: You must be so proud of DS for being accepted into such a challenging (I presume) program at Manchester University. It sounds like a dream college experience. (Says the girl who went to a party school.)
Patricia: Glad to see you're willing to hang with us & all our quirks.
W1D2 of C25K means week 1, day 2 of Couch to 5K, a training program for beginning runners available at CoolRunning.com. Check it out. As Carrie suggests, it's a great program for getting to that distance. And speaking of cool, it's super cool that you have a friend to train with!

P.S. Don't worry about keeping up with posting--some of us are loquacious (I've been accused of having logorhea both verbally & in forums

). Just post what you can--we love hearing from each other.
Krista: Thanks for the congrats & info about your R/W intervals. For longer distances I suspect I'll still do the intervals but I'd like to be able to run a 10K distance, I think. (We'll see what the body says). I used to eat Chubby Hubby, but it gave DOOD issues--like I was sending a message or something.

Wish Stephen good luck on the tri on my behalf! And I hope you have plenty of

days as the weather gets nicer & nicer.
Angie: Awww, we know you think of us, so I'll just make up what you said in your lost post!

You're so witty and generous! Btw, I can't imagine how excited you must be for the Minnie! Almost there!
Leana: I hope Vancouver rocks for you--I can't even imagine the sight of all those people! I'd be overwhelmed. But you, I think you're going to work your way through the crowds in good time.
Claire: I think Rowling's planning her own lexicon/compendium & raises the issue for future sales (to charity, right?). She's pretty savvy. My protein bars this time around--I'm trying to find a recipe that I actually want to eat--include oats, peanut butter, nuts, dates, SF chocolate pudding, milk, a few chocolate chips, and vanilla. Oh, and the protein. Pretty darn easy to make, but pretty darn bland, too. (Plus, my carbs/protein ratio was off; so much for trusting online recipes without calculating them out first.) Great job with the WOs and even better news about the Praxis!
Amy: Amazingly, WISHers are about the only folks who think I'm at all funny. I'm usually the "straight man" in my group of friends, I think and they're real cut-ups; the monkey story would have had them commenting that I don't take DOOD's professional life seriously enough. Plus, my ILs can't stand my sense of humor. Okay, so DOOD laughs--but I think it's at me most of the time and not with me. (As if I really know the difference.)
As for the super secret recipe--I love Nestle Toll House Cookies. But don't play your accomplishments down; not everyone can make them well. I've tasted many a botched batch. You'll just have to make us a few so we know what cookies made with love taste like. P.S. On second thought--I like Scott's ideas better. You're a sneaky one, you are. Regardless, there's a very necessary taste test in my future!
NE Bill: Awww, I hope your schedule allows you to settle in to your training program. I admire how much you manage to do you given everything!

And Wow on on the events your kids are into, and their commitment/success in them. You must be so proud of them--and a good role model. I'm more of a night person myself, so know real suggestions--unless you live with a morning lark like DOOD who is willing to strip the bed every morning to get you up.
TXAng: Yeah, that's my parents for you. They can't help but compare my abilities with DOOD's or my brother's; my brother is the family athlete, and you know how important keeping those family roles stable is!

Their reaction was a bit painful to hear at the time, but wasn't a surprise. That's why I'm so in awe of all you WISH parents, because I know you all encourage your children to be athletes & to enjoy just being active.

In my mind I get to see everyone's kids grow up at WISh events, while I get to be curmudgeonly Aunt Debra who'll steal their Mickey Bars if they're not careful.
Allyson: Hey! Congrats on W4D2 today. How did it feel?
Stacie: As a veggie, I'll have to try really hard to avoid that chicken.

It sounds like you narrowly avoided disaster, yay! I happen to think deciding on the events' outfits central to one's training, too!
Judy: Pace on the brain!

When you realized that the gas price didn't convert over to minutes, did it make $3.59 seem that much cheaper than $4.00?
Cecilia: I have to say I'd be willing to put my money on you, although I'm sure Mr. ITBand has the best of intentions. I'm also betting the competition will help you offset your training runs! Enjoy your couples time at CMM, even if it means elbowing each other during the course a la
Run FatBoy Run!
Scott & Amy: I'm surprised such a celebrity as Bingham K. Penguin isn't wearing shades to protect his identity.

Certainly there should be photo opportunities at the Minnie for his WISHer fans!
As for me: I've had an off-kilter day, not the Disney kind either. My schedule must have anticipated NE Bill's question about a.m. workouts, because I was unable to get in my WO this morning. That means core work tonight and, hopefully, some time spent outdoors in the marvelous 70+ degree weather Pgh is teasing me with. (I have noticed it seems to get cooler every weekend. How is that fair?)
