Hello everyone!
For those new to us, we're a group of people who are planning to participate in walking/running events throughout the year. Some of us are training for the 2006 Disneyland Half and for the 2007 WDW Half/Full marathons. We'll also be posting news/training for various other events throughout the year. We range from non-running beginners to triathletes. Come join us, whether you're training for an event or walking/running for fitness!
Here's the Marathon FAQ, a great place to answer your marathon questions:

Good training everyone!
Oddly enough, my second mile is always my fastest and once I see that my pace is good despite all the mental whining, it seems to help push through.

I did my MS Walk today - around a 15 min/mile. The MS Society did a fabulous job putting the entire event together.
I have never messed with resting time or try to customize the lap time, so I have no idea what's up.
that your foot is better!

What a great time for your run!!

How come no one reminded me that there were hills in Georgia?
We have never ran on any kind of an incline and I am sore sore sore today. The hills gave me a bad stitch right after the 2 mile mark and I had to walk an entire interval, but we still finished in 39:48. Under 40 minutes...amazing for us! I highly recommend this race for a beginning 5k or 10k. It was well organized and there was no pressure to finish fast. It was very family oriented. I LOVED IT!
He yelled and fussed at her the entire race! He would run off and leave her and then yell at her to catch up. She was on the verge of tears as he was yelling "Keep Running!" "Why are you walking?" "You should run like this." "Why can't you just keep up?" and the list went on and on. As I ran by her I told her she was doing great and to just slow down and enjoy it. Grrr! What an awful way to inspire your kid to love running. I felt so bad for her.
I thought about you and laughed.
So glad to hear you had fun and it was really well organized!
.
WOW!!!! Your time is amazing!!! Great job!!!
