Without saying your first name , is your first name common or uncommon?

It wasn't common growing up as I was the only one. I think is was common in the 2 decades before I was born. I have always worked with someone with my name though at pretty much all my jobs. Lately though my name has become quite popular but not in a good way!

Not a common name, but a name everyone knows.
I mean, if 100 random women were in a room, no one would have my name but everyone would have heard it.
More common among people of color -- I am white.
At no point has it ever been a popular "top 10 name".
No one can spell it.

My name is incredibly uncommon, it's hardly used outside the North of the Netherlands. Whenever on the rare occasion I meet someone with the same name, we are both confused.
Is your name Karin? The name was pretty common here in the 60’s and 70’s and I have a friend with it spelled with the i instead of e. Her parents were Swedish.
Fairly uncommon and my parents added an unnecessary letter causing it to be butchered all of the time. Don’t do that to your kids.
:sad2: We used an uncommon spelling for our DS’s rather common name. Like the example above we used an i instead of the usual e. WTH were we thinking? So dumb of us.

Ssssshhhh.... Karin is my screenname ;-) And it's the same in NL, very popular in 60/70s. Karen was a little less popular, but still very common in the 70/80s.
In 2014 there were about 30K people with the name Karin or Karen in NL. But not many new babies are given this name.

My real name is given less than 10 times in the last 5 years.
