I know I should know this, but we do not have any points left and we want to go for another visit in February, what are my options? If I book a 1 bedroom through MS is there a DVC discount? We have APs also, is there only a discount offered if it is listed on the AP site? Trying to figure out the most economical way of getting back, but I don't know if I can give up my 1 bedroom!

It would probably be cheaper to rent a stay or transfer points from another member.

Alternatively---and I know this is sacrilege, but---you could consider staying in a non-Disney timeshare. There are some lovely choices just a stone's throw away from property. You would have to rent a car and drive, but the parking is covered by your AP.

We rent a car so that would definately be doable. I have heard people talk about Bonnet Creek. Not sure of any others. How can I find info about others?

As to the Annual Pass discounts, yes, if it is not listed on the Passholder site it is not being offered. If it is offered you can also check to see what is available with a discount.

Can you borrow points from your next Use Year? That would seem to be the easiest and least expensive option.

You could look for a rental at DVC or elsewhere. Off property will be much cheaper and give you a chance to try other options. Here are some of my thoughts on other timeshares RCI resorts. For II, I'd also add the other Marriott's as top choices and possibilities including Liki Tiki, Lighthouse, GrandeBeach, and Westgate Lakes. There are a couple of others that are a possibility but I don't have much info. Many of the resorts mentioned are in both II and RCI so I did not duplicate them. There are other resorts I'd consider staying at if the price were right including other Westgates, other Wyndham's, Star Island, and Parkway Intl. Just investigate any choices to be sure it meets YOUR minimum standards and if the price is right.

We are DVC owners too, but our points will be spent for Xmas...so we had a family gathering by renting points at Bonnet Creek (closest to WDW) this past summer. I was quite impressed.

The Timeshare Store now has points for rent and that could be another possibility for you. Just recently I received the usual listings from TTS and listed at the bottom was a particular reservation in Dec. that was made and the member could not use it so was offering it for rental through TTS. We jumped on it and it has worked out for both of us. It is just another option you might want to check out.
