With bioscan, if I lose a ticket will it be reimbursed?

So I understand why they only want one person using the ticket. They now will link you fingerprint and name with a ticket. Is this a one way street, or will they also now refund you for a lost ticket?

Seems like it would be most fair both ways. They should be able to locate your ticket in their system and reimburse you.

Am I wrong?

They will replace a lost ticket, they will not reimburse you for it.

But, I don't get how a lost ticket relates to not being able to transfer a non-transferable ticket.

I would recommend having a photo copy of the back of the ticket. The bioscan is not a finger print scan. It matches points of your fingers to a ticket however if they dont know what ticket to match it too I would say it might be harder. would like to know more on the subject. I made a copy of mine and keep in my room.

No.

Disney is not responsible for lost or stolen items. However, if you keep your receipts, or have photocopies of the back of the tickets, they will do everything possible to recover your tickets.

You actual finger prints are NOT linked to your tickets. The only thing that is attached to your ticket is your finger size and shape. They do not scan prints in any way. They just take a reading for the size and shape, and then assign a number to the ticket. Each time you use the ticket, the numbers have to match to work the turnstile. Thus, there is no way to recover a ticket with your prints.

A. Keep your receipt when you buy tickets.
B. Keep your tickets in a safe place.
C. Know where/when you purchased and used your tickets.

Exactly. Keep in mind that the finger scan is aimed at curbing abuse. Therefore, what we guests get out of the deal is the fact that those of us who comply with the terms and conditions will no longer need to pay extra due to the actions of those who would not comply if they weren't forced to by the finger scan.

They don't have your name and address unless your ticket is attached to your room key. As said before, they also do not have your fingerprint.

Just FYI, if yOu have an AP and lose your ticket, they have your name recorded and with ID will simply replace it.

The process for replacing a lost ticket is the same as it always has been, it has not changed with the ticket tag system. The ticket tag system or biometrics is not a fingerprinting system simply a measurement.

If your admission is on your room key or an Annual Pass then it can be replaced with your photo ID.

If you have a separate admission (MYW pass) simply keep your receipt in a safe place and make a a photocopy of the back of the pass. This will give guest relations the information they need to re-issue a new pass with exactly the same number of admission days and plus options as the lost pass. You will not get an reimbursement in the event of a lost ticket, simply a replacement if you can document your loss.

Unfortunately putting your fingers in the tag machine won't give WDW any information regarding your pass. It is simply to make sure that the same person is using the pass each time.

I believe you all said the same thing that i did. Im not sure I agree with the big benefit of the bio scan as the one who gains the most is Disney, however with the new ticket system being able to buy 7 days or more at a significant lower price I guess I can understand, and if i lose my pass hopefully no one else can use it. Unless of course their fingers are the exact size and shape of mine. :rotfl: Gotta go pack for my Disney 05 trip.

Exactly, If someone picks up your 10 day pass, which you bought to use on multiple vacations, they won't be able to use it in between the time you dropped it, and the time you have Guest Relations re-print your ticket. It's protection for you too!

With the old ticket media, I could have found your ticket in the parking lot, and used one of your days before you got to the turnstiles.

I bought 2 5 day park hoppers from AAA just as they were changing over for this trip. New never used. As i understand I will get biocanned on my first use and those points of measurement will get attached to my ticket, even on any of the older parkhoppers and I like that. You just put a stop to selling unused days on ebay. If you never go back you are just OUT, not even a family member could use them.

My DH lost his 10-day pass on the 4th day of our trip. We were directed to Guest Relations where they very promptly replaced the ticket for us. We did not have copies or the receipt but the VERY helpful CM (I wish I would have gotten his name!) was able to re-issue the ticket because it was linked to the other passes, which thankfully DH did not lose. So, what's my point? Please keep a copy of the back of the cards like so many others have recommended. If he had lost ALL of the tickets we would have been out of luck. Our vacation was nearly ruined because of DH's "mistake", which by the way was the first and last time he was allowed to hold the tickets, even if I have to get all the fast passes myself.
