Today is Monday 8/20. We have a 7:30 am PS for breakfast @ Chef Mickey's
We had no wait and were able to get our picture taken this time. For some reason we didn't get one last time we were there. Our waitress CM did not seem to be in a good mood. Oh well..we were!! We were visited by all the characters again this time, including Chef Mickey himself. Those CMs are the greatest.....very generous I thought. I have to say that Minnie just tugged at my heartstrings though. She was just too cute!! But they were all so lovable! Pluto licked DH's face...too bad I ran out of film..drats! The buffet, once again was delicious.
I honestly can't remember what we did right after breakfast. I'm sure my memory will be refreshed once I get our photos developed.
We got the Fantasmic! dinner package the day we arrived at our resort.
We headed over to MGM around 2:30. This seemed to be our favorite park since we spent the most time there. We shopped a bit and saw some attractions. Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous was so-so in my opinion. But at least it was nice and cool in there, lol.
We had a 5:30 PS at Hollywood & Vine. We were hungry and took a chance at arriving at 4:30. We just had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes for a table. It was pretty good. We all found something we liked to eat and we had good table service. We took our time there.
We got our voucher for Fantasmic! and instructions on where and when to enter. We headed over just to see where it was located. There was no line or anything at 7:00. The show was to start at 8:30. We lingered in the area for a bit then headed in at 7:30. There were tons of people already seated in the walk-in area, but the PS area was empty. We got seats in the front row, nearest to the center of the stage. A few minutes later, it began to fill up. We were having great timing during this trip...barely ever having to wait for anything. Buses, the monorail..always seemed to appear just as we walked up to the area.
At 8:00..the lightening and thunder started. Then it started to sprinkle. We donned our ponchos...no worries...until it started to pour! We watched as the venue began to empty. We took family photos for people who were laughing hysterically at their rain soaked selves, lol. We were not budging unless the show was cancelled!! At 8:15 a CM was coming around asking people to leave and take shelter for safety's sake. He said the show was not cancelled though..Doh! We left, knowing that this mini storm was not about to end anytime soon. Reluctantly and sadly we departed and headed for the buses. This would be our last opportunity to see Fantasmic! this trip. Oh well..another reason to return!
Once again, luck was on our side and we were able to get on the 1st bus that arrived to take us to the Contemporary.

Sorry you missed Fantasmic!, but you are right...you just have to start planning the next WDW trip!

Sorry you missed Fantasmic. Still it gives you a reason to return.LOL.

Hi Wishydoo - I'm sorry you missed Fantasmic - we were there on the exact same day!! We got seats for Fantasmic at 7:00 - had a great spot - (didn't do the dinner package, but ate every snack they sold us as we waited!!!) as you said, it started to rain, we got out the ponchos - then had to leave the metal benches during the lightening storm!!! We stood there debating what to do - then it stopped raining! Later, I talked to some other people and they said that a cast member ushered them into the Beauty and the Beast theater to wait out the storm, since it is covered. Our 3 and 4 yr old kids loved the storm - much to my surprise - they thought it was an adventure - I think they were numb with exhaustion from a busy day - but the show ended up not being cancelled - they delayed it about a half hour and we got to see it. It was our first time and my husband and I decided it was totally worth the wait - we loved it!!!!! Our 3 yr. old daughter was a little frightened by the villains, but calmed down when Mickey and everyone else came out. I hope you get to see it for yourself SOON - it is very enjoyable and the highlight of our trip!!!!!

Hiya Belleotheball!!!

I can't believe the show went on!! When we got back to the Contemporary it rained for about another 45 minutes!! I'm shocked, lol.

My DH at first wanted to take shelter somewhere in the park in the hopes that the rain would stop and the show would begin. But it really looked like it wasn't about to let up, and as I said..we had rain for quite awhile after we left. We stayed til they kicked us out, lol.

I'm so bummed..I don't even know if I should mention this to the rest of the family, lol.

Well...I am so happy that you and your family were able to see it!!

I will definitely be sure to plan on the dinner package early on in our next stay at WDW. Then if something like this happens again we might have other opportunities to see it before we leave.

GEEZ..your excitement about the show makes me want to go back TOMARROW to see it!! hehe...thanks for the info!!

This is an off-beat question (I seem to like those!) but when you had dinner at Hollywood and Vine, did you try the sweet potatoes? Just wondering because they sound so good!

Ya know..I saw those sweet potatoes...but passed on them.

The thing I ate the most of was mashed potatoes and buttered corn!
I have a special way to eat those items.. The corn must be spooned onto the mashed taters. I like it all mixed up with lots of butter, lol.

LOL! That's something for the Debate Board: Mix all your food or dare not let them touch each other! I visit Deb W's site and the Hollywood and Vine buffet sounds really good. We're going to try it next time.

Mixing corn with 'taters is OK, just don't mix corn with lima beans! LOL
