I talked to a wedding coordinator today about a wishes wedding, and just got finished looking over the info she sent me. First of all, they can't guarentee your location until 8 months prior???? If they pencil you in at the 12 month mark, has anybody ever been told between the 12 and 8 month mark that you can't have your date?? How does that work? :confused3 Also, the lady was recommending The Attic and Ariels, and she said it's a $100 minimum per person... I'm only have around 30 people, and from the pics it looks like Ariels is way too big for a small dinner. The Attic looks like a good size... does anyone have any comments about the Attic, good or bad? What about Ariels? Is $10,000 minimum possible for a 30-40 guest wedding? Can't you just have a dinner at a restaurant or something? I don't want a typical reception with a dj or band and dancing and whatever... just something simple! Does anyone have any suggestions at keeping the cost down? Once I look at everything she sent me, it just seems to be much more expensive than I was anticipating it to be. Should I just tell everyone they can't come and just stick to the Escape Wedding?? HELP!!

we had ariels and wp at we signed our contract at 12 months, it all depends on locations as we moved to the gf and as we were inside 8 months we could do a contract amendment, any convention hotel or place can only be done at 8 months as you can get bumped for a convention.

Our min at ariels was 100pp but i think this didnt include the cake but cant remember for sure.

we are not having a dj or dancing we are just having our ipod fofr our 1st dance and background music, at the moment our budget is around 15k but its still going down so its def workable for the min spend

We are doing a wishes wedding- 35 guests. We are having our ceremony at Italy followed by a lunch at Narcoossee at GF-- no traditional wedding stuff o/t cake cutting and a DP later that evening- we currently are just over 12000.

I can help - we did exactly what it sounds like you want to do. We had 35 guests, and we just wanted a meal, no DJ/dancing/etc. so the Attic was perfect for us. Also, we brought our total cost in at just $70 over the $10,000 minimum, so that is possible too!

The food & beverage minimum at the Attic is only $75/pp if you do the event before 2pm, and the cake counts toward that (the cake doesn't count toward the $2,000 min food and beverage requirement at the Attic before 5pm, though, but we had no trouble meeting this with 37 people).

Events starting after 2pm have a $100/per person food & beverage minimum, and the venue food & beverage minimum goes up to $2,500.

Here are some pix of the Attic, in case you haven't seen it. Also, if you click the link to my trip report or the PIX! link in my signature, you can see our reception at the Attic.

Sorry to butt in but just have a quicky...when it says for events before 2pm prices are min $75pp does this mean that the event has to have finished by then or if I reserve the event to start at 12midday and finish by,lets say 3.30 pm do I go into the $100pp price bracket:confused3 Hope this makes sence!!! Oh why cant wedding planning be easy :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure it's a before 2pm start time, so if it started at 1:45pm you'd still get the lower prices, but maybe someone will come along and correct me! :)

I just looked in the info I got from DFTW when I signed my contract, and it says the $75pp minimum applies to "functions beginning before 2pm" - hooray!

I am having a noon wedding, my pre-reception is starting at 1, and reception is at 2 for $100pp. The GF is $100 per person for before 2 and $125 after 2 (it's just a more expensive venue)
HTH!

Soo.. what your saying is that if the reception starts right at 2:00 you get the lower price??

Technically, her reception starts at 1pm, it's just that the first hour is known as a "pre-reception" cuz the food isn't being served yet.

I think as long as the pre-reception starts before 2 you're OK...

What's everyone time schedule like? I'm trying to decide what time I want to have the ceremony, and what time everything else will follow. Like if we had the ceremony at 12:00, and then lunch reception at 2 or 1:45, or 1:30 or whatever, I just want to make sure I have enough times for pics and am not rushed. DF definately does not want to do 10:00 ceremony, but I was thinking if we could get in somewhere before 2 we could save some money that could be spent somewhere else. Other than dessert partys, what are other things we could do with our guests after dinner (or lunch). I don't think I really want to have the ceremony at 12, then lunch, and then have to wait around for the dessert party. I'd rather go change and just go to the park, becuase I know I'll be too excited to just sit around and wait. But, I dont' want to just ditch all my guests either. Any ideas? Also, I REALLY want Cinderella's carriage, but $2,700 is a ton of money... did anybody use it and is it reallyl worth the money?? How long do you get it for? How many people can sit in it? And has anyone ever had a Fantasmic Dessert Party? Any opinions on this?
