Hello all!!!

I am new to this site and I thought it was really cool to come across. Me and my girlfriend went to Disney last year and ABSOLUTLEY loved it. This year we are going back to try and top last year. I wanted something really romantic for us so I ended up booking the Wishes Firework Cruise. I'm kind of nervous about it because I'm not sure if it is worth the money. My biggest thing is the view. And if I remember correctly from the Lagoon...isn't there a building blocking the view of the Magic Kingdom??? I think it's that railroad thing. Can anyone tell me if I am right or just crazy? haha. Like I said my biggest thing is the view. I already have music pipped into the boat so that is taken care of. Has anyone else done this that can talk more about it?
Thanks,
Jon

Hi and welcome to the DIS! We are taking our 3rd Wishes cruise in Sept., we love them! There is absolutly not a better vantage point to see them than from the boat. Since the fireworks are high in the sky, the train station doesn't block your view at all. It's worth every penny, and I'm sure that your girlfriend will think you're a very romantic guy for booking it. Are you going to surprise her?

yea I am suprising her...she's upset because we missed wishes last year. The thing is that I vision the Wishes Cruise to have a perfect view of the fireworks AND the Magic Kingdom. It blocks the Kingdom at least correct?

We are doing 2 nights in MK so we'll have the boat one night and inside the park the other.

The Wishes Fireworks Cruise is deff worth it. There is not building blocking the fireworks at all. The view is amazing and its the most beautiful thing ever. Have fun!

You can't see the entire Magic Kingdom, but you can see the shops along Main St. and the castle, and Space Mtn. off to the right. It's an amazing view, you won't be disappointed!

I agree..this was THE best experience. DH booked it as a surprise for my 30th bday in May. He even got a cake and champagne to enjoy on the boat. The view was perfect...have fun!

Yay I am sooooo excited now!!!! Any other romantic things I should know about?

Does anyone know if you can hear the Wishes music from the boat??

They do have some boats without music. Make sure when you call you get one that does have the music. Last time I heard they were to have every boat with music hope they do now.
enjoy   party: party: party: party:

When I booked the boat they offered me two different packages...it was $200 to have no music pipped in...and $250 to have the music pipped in

The further back the driver positions the boat, the more of the castle you will see "over" the Train Station. It's a perspective thing. You can't see the entire castle, but you can see a good deal of it. The view from the water, and more important, having the castle in your center vantage point will enhance your enjoyment of the performance more than anything else. The view from the boat hands down beats the view from the California Grill because the castle is the center of attention of Wishes.
Order a nice bottle of wine or champagne and have a GREAT time.

We've done it both ways, with and without the music piped in. There are so many boats out there that have the music, plus the music that's actually in the Magic Kingdom is pretty loud too, so it's not a problem hearing the dialougue and music. Totally worth every penny!

I am so totally excited now!!!
Now another idea that I need some suggestion on. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside for 5 nights. What I was thinking was after the Wishes Cruise to have the concierge move our luggage from POR to Grand Floridian for out very last night. I was thinking it might be very romantic for that last night with the cruise and then Grand Floridian. What would you think? Would it be too much moving around?

if you can switch over to the GF from POR and do the wishes cruise on your last night, i would book the cruise from the GF so the captain drops you back off at their dock and suggest to your gf to come inside for a drink or a sit in the lobby just to admire it afterwards... then tell her you'll be right back, and go check in, get the key and totally surprise her!

also, not sure what your plans are for before the cruise, but when we did it in january i was the only one of the 8 of us that knew i booked it and while we were enjoying dinner at chef mickey's i slipped a little scroll/invitation that i had made up on my 'puter (w/help of the amazingly talented people on the Creative DISigns board) to our server who then rallied some of the characters to come help her present it to us while i just sat there and acted as surprised as my guests ;)

it was AWESOME!! (and not sure how in the world i'm going to top it for our next trip! LOL!)

It doesn't matter where you depart from, the driver will drop you off at any marina upon request.
