We have wishes Dessert Party Reservations- do we need to check in early or arrive around our reservation time?

Check in an hour prior to Wishes start time. Often, they will start letting people in up to 90 minutes prior the Wishs start time. Tables are reserved in order of reservations taken. If you make your ADR right at the 180 day mark, you will have a table closer to the railing by the water. If you are last in making your ADR, you will be at a table in the back. All tables are preset with names when you arrive.

Enjoy the time out of the crowds! So worth it!

We did not find this to be true tonight. The tables were not preset with names. In fact, the hostesses were scrambling to find a tablecloth to add to another table so that they could seat the party in front of us. We saw CMs putting tables together and rearranging chairs. There was a list with assignments, but it appeared there was some "winging it" happening too.

We booked right when the reservations opened. We were seated in the back. There were many unused tables despite being sold out. There were tables closer to the railing for our group size that went unused all night.

Strange to hear that - Was there two showings of Wishes - perhaps there were two dessert parties in one night? And they had to scramble to make both happen?
Sorry my advice didn't pan out! The times I have been lucky enough to get the ADR right when it opened up, I had tables right up front, and the CM seating us each time commented that I must have been the first to make the ADR to get the table up front.

I hope you enjoyed it either way! Great way to get enjoy Wishes and get out of the ridiculousness of the crowd a short time.

There were two showings, but we were the first. It was a bit odd, as it was not our experience previously either.

The additional tables also limited the space near the rail. We actually had to stand over by the buffet tables to see, and we barely could hear the music.

This certainly makes me question jab out keeping our ADR for June. I appreciate your candor!
I just read a similar review on the dining review section here on DIS. Very similar to what you have shared.
Last time I went it was still and the $25 price point, very much worth the expense. Just saw it was raised to $59.
At least I got my ADR in before the increase from $49 to $59...

We shall see how reviews in the coming few months pan out. Maybe they will get it together to offer a completed package...

It might have been my review. ;)

Honestly, at that price point I wish we would have dined at Crystal Palace or Chef Mickeys. The desserts on these buffets are roughly the same quality, plus you get dinner for the same price.

We like reserved viewing, but can't justify it at this price point.

I had a similar experience in December. There weren't names on tables and it was really disorganized.
Someone went to seat us and then he just stared off into space, like he had no clue where we were supposed to sit. It was so odd. Then he started saying is it there...wait...there...and then he would stare off into space again and start mumbling about the castle?? :rotfl: He told us to wait and he needed to check to see where to seat us. We were so confused as to what in the world was going on because I'd never been to a dessert party before. He came back and he still had no clue. I asked him if he was going to seat us. And he said, yeah...let me check and took off again!

Finally he came back and said...see it's like you seat based on when you made the reservation or something like that. So I think you're over there. I asked him if he was going to take us to our table and he said yeah and just stood there! It was so weird and eventually became a joke between me and my mom that there must have been something else in his glass other than sparkling cider! :rotfl:
