I think anyone who is trying to book the party on Sept. 11th should write an email saying that they tried to book it 1st thing and it was showing tables are full and they want an explanation.. Thats what I did. I am so angry.

I hear your frustration but I had a thought...........maybe Disney is planning a special fireworks display in honor of 911 and have not opened up the booking yet.

If you recall when Disney opened up the bookings for the July Party back on April 21 , July 3rd & 4th were not bookable for some days later due to the special fireworks,......Just a thought :confused3

Admittedly I do not work for Disney, so it's hard for me to understand, but why are their own people so confused on this?? My daughter called for me earlier today, as I was at work and was told by the first person that she talked to that they only release dates for this party 2 weeks in advance. She told her that they were only booking until the middle of August, which we all know is not correct. Then my daughter called back and got someone else. That person told her that they release the party dates 2 months is advance, which this time was still not quite right, but closer. ;-) She said they are not scheduling any sundays, but she had no idea why. She didn't know why it was clickable on the website, because according to her, it was not even open to book on the calendar that they work from on the phones. At least now I don't feel so bad about being confused. If the people answering the phones don't understand...how would I?

Would like to send a heartfelt thank you for this entire thread.

I was able to get a party of 8 on 9/28 which now completes all of my planning for my Sept. trip. 73 more days! WOO HOO!!!

I'm a little perplexed...

I made a reservation for Sep 8th, got the confirmation email, and it shows up in my Disney reservations on their website. Huzzah! I did cancel a previous ressie (for 50's Prime Time, we changed to an earlier time and I cancelled the older, later one) but my cancellation email has the dessert party in the subject line?! When I check my reservations, the dessert party is still there and the old Prime Time spot is gone, I just thought it was odd that the dessert party was mentioned in the subject line!

I wonder if evening EMH has anything to do with Sept 25th not being opened for booking yet?

I tried again this morning and still nothing.

You crack me up. I think those people just get hired and are told nothing.

I agree, especially since this is a more unusual event then most of what they book (the normal dining that all opens at the same time).

That is why threads like this are so useful. I wasn't even calling or checking online every day, I just checked this thread!

I think a lot of it has to do with the way Disney "outsources" the CM who answer the phones when you call one of their phone numbers, instead of having the workers onsite where they could update the employees and maybe train them on issues about WDW. I guess it must be cheaper to do it this way or something but it is just not good for customer service IMO.
It does seem as if 99% of those working the phones just make up answers wily nily when asked questions. Luckily we have the DIS to keep us all imformed.

There have been a few times when I called that I had the urge to reach thru the phone and choke the person on the other end when they told me no about something that I knew was not the case at all, forceing me to have to hang up and call back again.:headache:

Nothing yet for October :sad2:

I also had an email issue like this but not with the dessert party. I cancelled a previous Fantasmic reservation to book a new date. After I received the confirmation email for the new date I went ahead and cancelled the unwanted date. The email I received said cancelled in the subject title but the rest of the email was a duplicate of my new, just confirmed date. I called and they verified that my old reservation was cancelled and my new reservation was still there. I never did receive an email confirmation on cancelling the old reservation.

Same thing happened to me and a list of other people the last time they worked on the website - it's a glitch in their system and typically happens after they have tried to fix something or are loading something new - like the September dates for Wishes Dessert Party;)

I'm waiting for October to open up and am wondering if it's offered on MNSSHP nights as well? If so, would you recommend going on a MNSSHP night, or not? I've never done the dessert party nor have I been to MNSSHP, but have only a few nights to choose for the dessert party and one is when we'll be at the MNSSHP.

It isn't available on those dates for September so probably not.

No, it's not offered on MNSSHP nights.

A CM informed me that this was because people are paying for MNSSHP and part of that was Hallowishes, not wishes. But then CMs aren't always correct so who knows.

All I know is that I can't wait for october to open up. :goodvibes

(and thanks to Brandilovesdisney for your response as well!)

I feel better knowing this has happened to others. For the record, I did check my reservations this morning and they are all in order as I had requested/cancelled them, so at least I got exactly what I wanted. And so long as that's the case, I'm less worried about my email inbox!

In the first year they offered the Dessert Party, I recall it was not held on Sunday nights, as Tomorrowland Terrace served dinners on that night of the week. Don't know if that's still the case, or if they're trying to "run some numbers" and/or figure out system issues.

As for MNSSHP nights, the other poster is correct -- the dessert party is NOT offered on these nights. People get to trick-or-treat at the party, and instead of Wishes, you'll see Hallowishes.

Now, if I could just get Sept 17 to work for me as other posters have :headache: we'll be set, too!

Good luck to all!!

Good luck on getting your reservation for 9/17. Have you tried calling or just checking online?

October is still not coming up online, I checked again this am ....of course :rotfl:

Thank you for the info on the first year the party was held.

I suppose it is quite possible Disney is contemplateing opening Tomorrowland Terrace for regular dining on Sundays in September since it is during FD. Of course with Disney anything is possible. In October there are MNSSHP on Sunday nights.

I just want to get the party booked so I will be done with my reservations.

Was finally able to get ours for Sept 22. Had to call and she was able to set us up.
