Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

We are officially giving up on this. Spoke with my DH and mom today and we all agreed just to by pass this and spend the $$ on the BBB and other fun stuff for the kids. As much as I would love to do the dessert party I'm not going to spend my time and patience on this any longer. Good luck for everyone trying to get their Sept resi's. And I hope Disney gets off of their butts and opens those dates up soon! :)

All I know is the 4/29 reservation we had was for 8:35PM whereas the 4/28 reservation is for 9:10PM so that would've been less "dessert" time..
As I had read last year on these threads, the earlier your reservation time the closer your seating is to the railing. I booked within minutes of it opening for 6 people for last May. Our table was up front to the right along the railing. It was amazing. the reservations start 1 hr before Wishes. Everyone has plenty of time for dessert. Just arrive early and get in line. My strategy would be to take the earlier time versus a particular day for our Fall trip. Hope we get tickets again. The earlier your reservation, closest to the first offered, the better your table will be! The first thing to determine is when wishes starts that night (the time changes based on time of year and when it gets dark) then go from there. The 9:10 would be better if Wishes starts at 10 which would mean the dessert party begins at 9. The 8:35 would not be as good if wishes started at 9 with the dessert party starting at 8.

For the record, it was a big pain waiting to book this event (this was before you could book 180 days) ..,, I checked everyday it was so annoying and the mixed information, incorrect information made me almost give up. Don't..,it so worth the aggravation to get tickets.

Looking at the calendar, it and Illuminations Dessert Party have dates 90 days out! Very odd, considering the Disney website says reservations available up to 180 days out. I, too, am waiting! :hourglass

I wish they would just tell us when they were releasing them instead of having us call everyday. This is so annoying.

I called again this afternoon. The CM said that September hadn't opened yet. She said that they were not sure why, but the restaurant hadn't released tables. I said "The first week of September has been booked, are you telling me there aren't any reservations through Sept. 7th?" She looked again and said that September 7th has 4 tables reserved and it was a glitch in booking. Those tables weren't supposed to be released. So, the 7th isn't fully booked, it was just briefly opened supposedly. Then I said, "I have heard that the reason for the delay is due to the MNSSHP dates not being finalized yet" to which she replied "Oh, yeah- that's right" Like she was making stuff up before because she couldn't remember the reason. Anyhow, I played dumb and asked "Historically, when do the MNSSHP party tickets go on sale", knowing it usually around May 1st. She said "Those only get released a month or so before the first party, much later in the summer".....:rotfl:

Do these CM's receive ANY training? She even said she has spoken to her supervisor several times about the dessert party, because she gets calls about it "all the time"!

If the tickets are timed relative to where they seat you, why do you need to arrive early? What happens if you get there at 8:35 PM (for a 9:10 PM reservation) and then someone comes at 8:45 PM with a 9:00 PM ticket?

Just looking to see how this works from your past experience. Thanks!

When they open up seating (say an hour before wishes; I can't remember exactly) you are escorted to your table in the order you lined up. *Where* your seat is depends on when you made your reservation.

If you book at 180 days, you should have a better (well closer to the rail) seat than someone who called in at 165 days out. They may line up before you and be seated before you but your seat will be better.

Eta: as to why get lined up early? Some of us want to get our dessert on and maximize party time, so want to be seated as early as possible!

Mom2cinderella explained it perfectly.!! For us we arrived about 20 mins early from the time it starts, not by our reservation time. Get early dibs on everything. They had a photographer when we went and we did get our pictures out of the way as soon as we got in before everyone lined up. I heard they no longer have photo pass photographer at the dessert party, if true that's terrible. I sure hope they do.

Sorry in advance, but I'm a little confused. I've got a 9:05 ADR when wishes is at 10:00PM, is my time one of the first times then? thanks

I know September is a mess, but I'm curious if anyone has had any luck with the 4 days of October that are currently open for adr's. I guess I'm wondering if this craziness is going to extend into October as well! :confused3

Got a call today from a cast member in response to my emails, etc. She said that the sept. Dates had not been released due to Night of Joy & the Halloween party during the time I'm looking for. She apologized multiple times for the mess that this has become and said that there is no wait list and when it is released to will be a first come first serve basis. She was very nice but I came away from the call not knowing anything more than I did before.
