I am planning a Wishes wedding for 10-12-10. Ceremony at the WP, Pre-reception and Reception at The Attic, DP at Epcot Lower UK.

I am curious to know what splurge items were or are your favorites for your wedding. I am trying to build my budget and plans and I want to put everything that I might consider having in the first budget and then start cutting back from there.

So help me to plan an amazing event - what are the wonderful touches and extra splurges that you think are really worth it.

Ours was a Friendship Boat trip from the ceremony in Morocco to the reception at the Attic, but I guess that wouldn't really work for your event! :goodvibes

Lots of people like to splurge on specialty transportation like Cinderella's Glass Coach ($2,700) or a Rolls Royce ($800 for the white one, $900 for the pink one). There's also the Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session ($1,000 or $1,250, depending on print size) before the park opens. You can do two parks for $1,300.

Disney characters are $800 for one, $1,200 for two, or $1,600 for three. Then they have themed entertainers like the Uninvited Guests ($1,800) or the Herald Trumpet Duo ($1,100).

A live band will set you back at least $7,000.... just trying to think of all the other pricey elements here... decor can really add up, and for some people the addition of, say, chiavari chairs or chargers under the plates adds a special pop that's worth the extra dough.

Oh! Confetti cannons would be cool! Those start at $675. The tulle with twinkle lights hanging from the ceiling is about $2,400. And the 30-second custom fireworks display at the Wedding Pavilion costs $3,000.

How's that for a start? :teeth:

Thanks!! You are a great source of info - not sure how you keep up with all these things. I loved your wedding plans and events - just beautiful. And thanks for the great ideas.

One question on the characters do you have to have them all attend at the same time to get the discount or could they come at seperate times? I keep forgetting to ask Bill at Disney that question.

Our favorite item was Mickey and Minnie. Couldn't have a Disney wedding without them. We loved it and so did our guests. We did not tell anyone so it was a complete surprise.

:goodvibes Unfortunately, yes - in order to get the combo pricing, the characters need to all be there at once. If you space them out at separate times, you pay the $800 fee for each one.

Ours would have to also be mickey and minnie at the reception. Plus the dessert party at Fantasmic! Everyone enjoyed both.

I'm still back and forth between a wedding at home (new england) or at Disney but I know for sure that if I do decided on a disney wedding I'm going to splurge on the "uninvited guests" I bet they are a riot and I know my friends and family would enjoy them immensely!

Besides, where else could you have people show up "uninvited" and make it a fun, memorable, unique experience that will be sure to mark it as a wedding to remember (...in a good way, of course!) Wicked fun! :rotfl:

Cinderella's Coach. Everyone dreams of being a princess when they are little, so I can't imagine not including it. Not to mention I love horses!

Our big splurge 3 park photo shoot. We knew we had to have the MK, but couldn't decide between Epcot and Studios. So we're doing all 3.

We couldn't have our wedding and not have Mickey and Minnie or some sort of characters. I would just feel out of place.

I'll echo the Mice. I also loved having our silhouette artist, but at about $500, which also provided favors to the guests, it wasn't much of a splurge.

We loved our three piece ragtime trio, but I'd have to say the best splurge (or at least the one we got the most comments from the guests about) was having the Dapper Dans. They were great!

I have to say Cinderella's coach. That to me was he most amazing ride I have ever had!

I love all of my splurges, but the one thing that I wanted more that anything else were the chiviari chairs. I'm so glad we got them...they complimented the reception decor so well!!

we was considering these 'un invited' guests- our planner told us they are amazing and its something that your guests wont forget....

Because of Heidi's wedding where she had the Dapper Dans, i absolutely love them and i didnt realise you could have them appear at your wedding - this is a big splurge but i cannot think of anything better than being seranaded by these guys!

We are also having the coach and the characters .... eek, i know we are splurging but we are doing it for us- we are only doing this once and its Disney! DF will not allow me to not have the Coach, i said we can drop it if we want other things but he said no- i am having the coach or there is no Disney wedding, he wants his 'princess to arrive properly' awwwww!

If money were not a concern...I would definitely want the 30 second fireworks :rotfl:, Cindy's coach, park photo shoots, uninvited guests and characters...oh and a DJ.

As it stands...I will fight for Cindy's coach, and park photos...even if DH thinks I'm nuts. The others in order of "I WANT":yay: are DJ, characters, uninvited guests, fireworks...

Definitely without a doubt - CHARACTERS!!

We had Minnie, Mickey, Donald and Stitch at our wedding and they really made the wedding. I had 30 minutes with Stitch - pure bliss! I can't wait to see all the Roots pictures of it, but here's one that they sent me already!

I have to tell you this is my favorite part of your wedding...and we are super jealous we aren't having them.

When I worked at the MK I used to see these guys EVERY day:lovestruc I make it a point to stop every trip and say hello to them. Paul, Aaron and Chad are my favs although I am pretty sure Paul and Chad aren't there anymore. Be still me heart!!!:lmao:

Our big splurges (if they fit in our budget) will be characters and the new pink rolls! I'm really crossing my fingers for the last one!

I absolutely adore them- if i had my own way, i would sit and listen to them all day long and as soon as i saw that Heidi had them, Wayne saw how excited i was and said we can squeeze them in! I cannot imagine our guests faces when they see them- im hoping they can sing certain songs too! I am keeping this a complete SECRET from our guests!
