Wish or Treasure Laundry and Tide Pods

Wondering if anyone has used Tide Pods for the laundry on the Wish or Treasure. I know they have boxes of soap but I usually pack pods for our trips. Last time I was on the Fantasy, using a pod didn't work out well. Not sure if it was an one off or if you just can't use them in their machines.
TIA for any information.

I have only used pods...for all the ships...and never had a problem. Specifically, just because the laundry rooms are the same, we used them on the Wish successfully. I expect that the Treasure will be the same. At least, I'm planning that for October.

I used a pod on the Fantasy and flooded the laundry room on deck 6. I felt bad, it reminded me of the Brady Bunch episode when Bobby does laundry. :rotfl: They could post something in there saying don't use pods. ;)
That's were I had issues as well, on the Fantasy. Reading the responses on here though, I thought mine was just a one off. Seems others use them with no issues. Now I don't know what to do. EEK!

I just bought the powder in the laundry room because I didn't want to chance doing it again. I think the problem may have been something with the laundry cycle I chose.

Ditto: have used tide pods and in the past all pods for at least 10 cruises. Wonder multiple seven days. Fantasy seven day and wish back to back and just on treasure. No problem at all

We've had success using pods on the Magic and Fantasy (and I think the Dream). Is it an issue of putting it in the dispenser vs. just throwing it in with the clothes? We do the latter and have had never had an issue.

You can also get laundry detergent sheets now; I'm not super sure of their effectiveness, though.
I use them all the time at home and love them. It's also so much easier to pack a few sheets of laundry detergent than worry about pods bursting in my luggage.

In the past 24 months, I have been on several DCL cruises and have talked to cruisers while standing in lines about the laundries on board. I have been surprised 3 times when passengers said to me “I didn’t even know there was a self service laundry on board!” One said “I thought you had to send your laundry out to be cleaned in those laundry bags in the stateroom closet”.

One conversation (on the Wonder near the end of a 13 night cruise) asked where the laundry room was located and was surprised to find out there was one on her own second deck.

We take laundry pods with us and have never had an issue with the machines nor breaking in the suitcase. We enjoy the large, nice laundry room on the Wish rather than the three small ones on the Wonder/Magic but are happy they are available to use! My husband uses the ironing boards for his Hawaiian shirts quite often, too.

I was going to buy laundry pods to do some laundry while on board, but now I'm afraid to flood to laundry room :scared:

Does anyone know what detergents they have available to buy? Years ago I remember it being Tide, hoping they have a different option now.

If you don't like the pods or the laundry sheets... you can try what we did years ago before this "new technology" hit the scene... We used the sheets during our last cruise...

If you have a vacuum food sealer, pre-measure some good old fashioned laundry powder and seal a few loads worth and pack it in your luggage. No added weight, no chance of the pods getting crushed and bursting.

We used to take pods and never had any problems but also switched to the sheets and love them. They work just as well as the pods but I think they just travel better.
