Last night i noticed that my cat's "third eyelid" was half closed on one eye. From what i've heard this usually happens because of something bad. He's going to the Cat Hospital today. I hope it's something minor and treatable. :cat:

I don't know much about kitties (I'm allergic)...but I do hope yours is okay!!

Thanks everyone!

It's been a REALLY long day at work waiting til his appointment. I've only had the little guy since august but I'm REALLY attached (and so is my dog!)

I hope all goes well for your kitty. This same thing happened to our kitty this past June. Woke up one morning and her third eye-lid was covering her eye. Well, after $1,200, 4 months and literally hundreds of drops, the ulcer on her eye is finally healed. Hopefully, this will not be the case for you. It could be something as simple as a foreign object in her eye, a bite, or some kind of trauma. If they do think it is an ulcer, try to find a veterinary opthamologist. Best of luck :wizard:

Let's hope it's nothing more than a piece of grit or sand. :paw: :grouphug:

:wizard: :grouphug: for your :cat:, I hope all turns out to be ok! I'll be waiting for the update to see how your furry friend is doing :flower2:

please give us a heads up on kitty kat......

cats are my best friend.
crossing my fingers your kitty can be treated and well in no time.

:cat:

Thanks everyone for the support.

We just got back from the vet. Turns out Mr. Maximus von Kitten has a bit of a kitten cold and as a result is dehydrated. I felt like such a bad kitten mommy when the vet said this. Anyway, they gave him some fluid through an IV, a shot of antibiotics and some eyedrops for at home. The vet said he should be as good as new by saturday.

As a side note, i bought the kitty a filtered water fountain for Christmas cause he loves to play with water, I'm going to give it to him tonight so i guess that means i have to go do some more Christmas shopping, oh well :)

I'm soooooooo glad that he's treatable, i was worried it would be a lot worse.

Thanks again everyone!

And here is a picture of the kitty in question doing one of his favorite things....

Glad it's nothing serious. He's a cutie! :paw:

Don't feel bad. Doncha wish they could talk? Then we wouldn't have to guess all the time if something is wrong. :( Anyway, glad the baby will be okay :goodvibes - I'm sure he'll enjoy that early Christmas gift!! :paw: What a sweety sleepin' on his head like that. :cat:
