Wish Maiden Voyage Delayed

So if we were placing bets just for fun…who thinks it will delay again?

We’re booked on 7/22 and 7/25 and I’m over here dreaming of which cruises I would book with my 50% discount if it gets delayed another week 😬

We we're booked B2B for 7/8-7/15, so we just missed the cutoff 😢. We already had an Eastern Caribbean Very Merrytime cruise booked, so we were able to move to the 7/9-7/16 Eastern Caribbean cruise for minimal disruption to our plans, and hopefully we can fill the holiday dates with B2B Wish sailings.

My TA is still waiting to officially hear if we get two 50% bookings. Also she's waiting to hear if the 50% off can be combined with the 10% placeholder. Has anyone heard if this can be done?

We’ve been booked on the July 25 sailing since opening day, but just last week decided to make it a b2b and added the July 22 sailing. There weren’t a ton of options when I added July 22 last week, but I had at least 12-15 midship verandah rooms to choose from.
At least there is hope!!

We were July 11th concierge BUT the 50% makes things really nice and we just got a call to rebook. At least this may open up July for another trip somewhere! Good problems to have :)
Did concierge call you? I had a concierge cabin on the DVC sailing and a concierge cabin on the cruise behind it and have only received emails. I really need to know availability before we confirm the new DVC dates. 😔

I was June 20 concierge. I was hoping to get help to rebook from them? But since I had used a DU TA maybe they don’t? Spoke to my TA and there is nothing to do until Feb 8. That doesn’t make sense as they said in the email they will use this downtime to help those find a new cruise and bookings will open to the public on Feb 8. If we have to wait for days in LIMBO what is the point? Why make us wait til Feb 8? My cruise is already take off my reservations link so I don’t think I’ll get a call or anything.

I didn’t get the impression we were getting help-it sounds like they are just rebooking the maiden and DVC cruises and everyone else is stuck waiting until 2/8.

We won a trip on the pre-inaugural through the Yesr of Wishes sweepstakes and Disney hasn’t communicated yet with the winners about whether there will still be a pre-inaugural but in July or whether they will do something different for us. Can’t be mad because we (hopefully) still get a free cruise but I hope they communicate soon.
Did they call or email you that you won in that sweepstakes?

We were concierge little mermaid stateroom on July 8 and July 11 applying a 40% discount from the PC cruise to one and a125 fcc because of another cancelled cruise to the other. Happy about the 50% off of future cruise, but now I need to refamiliarize myself with the limits of the original 40% off and 125 fcc to know when those expire. Does anyone know current expiration dates for these? Also had moved our original cruise booking twice before getting cancelled anyway. Hoping for some great upcoming cruises! Stupid Covid!
I think it all has to be used by 9/30/22. If I were in your shoes, I’d feel like I had too many discounts to ever use them all.

I completely agree. We are on the last, affected sailing and that 50% off is great. We were actually thinking of rescheduling anyway and the discount may actually make a holiday cruise affordable. I'm not complaining at all!

We're on the second unaffected cruise - that is on july 25th (the first cruise after DVC is on the 22nd, then ours on the 25th)...
i said to my husband that had we been on one of the cancelled cruises that 50% discount would have gone a long way to easing the pain.
But of course we're happy to be able to sail as scheduled (hopefully - who knows in this covid world whether it won't change again)..
That assumes that we'll make it to the states at all - again, who knows if that won't change too (or we test positive in the preflight/precruise testing)

They called my husband. We did also receive the email. Some of the folks seemed to get emails and other calls and emails, but there is no rhyme or reason. They might have decided to email everyone in the interest of time and getting the message out. Maybe calls will follow? I'd actually DVC and see if they have new booking dates or inventory for those dates around the cruise, as folks may be moving their pre/post WDW stays around those new dates. Hope everything works out!

Man, I feel sorry for folks with tight vacation rules who can't move vacation time. My wife's union contract specifies that all 2022 vacation requests had to be submitted by September 1, 2021.
I think that’s why they are giving people until the end of 2023 to use the credit/discount but it still stinks when you’re looking forward to something and then have to wait so much longer

A few weeks ago we were debating on whether to add a second Wish cruise after our first (creating a B2B). We were also tying to decide if we wanted to be crazy and instead take a Dream cruise out of Miami that sails the day we get off the Wish in Port Canaveral. These were September sailings that we were looking at, but while I was looking at the options I took a look at Wish availability from the Inaugural through September and it appeared that all 4 night cruises were sold out (or at least were completely unavailable to view on the site). For that time period, only 3 night sailings were still available and there were no concierge staterooms available for those. I really hope it isn't the case, but pickings may be slim for the summer sailings when they open it back up on Feb 8th.

Thanks for the insight. Not great news-but at least we know what we might be facing. 😔

Confirmed by the email I received from DCL. I posted the 50% discount information above.
Now, since the points will be halved, will the ones given back be regular points or reservation points? I am not affected, but every cabin is because at least one in the cabin is booked on points.

We have an extended family cruise on the Dream the same day the Maiden Cruise will now begin. We will opt for the 50% off a TA next year!

Reportedly, they will initially be returned as reservation points but they will (on a case by case basis) convert them back to vacation points if you call MS.

I just read that the FCC is now in our DCL accounts - does anyone know where we can see the credit in our accounts? Or does it show up on the payment page when we book a new cruise?
