Wish I didn't buy BCV

Don't get this post wrong! We added 50 points on to our DVC, but we now have 2 contracts. 235 at BWV and 50 at BCV. It's very confusing to have the 2 and it's frustrating when I'm trying to book a vacation in a standard view in the BWV in the 11 month window and a regular view at the BCV which is more points. Hopefully I can change my BCV to the BWV standard view, but I doubt it at the 7 month window.

Wish I had all my points at the BWV. :(

Will they let you on the wait list before the 7-month window starts? If so you could have them auto cancel the higher point room and switch to the lower cost at the same time...

I know what you mean, I almost did the same thing. I have been on a waitlist for over a year for BWV pts from Disney and I was still #66 on the list with no hope in sight! I wanted more pts and was about to give up on BWV pts and buy BCV pts when I got a call from my guide regarding the new BWV pts that they just released. I am in my glory and bought 100 pts!!! Not that I would have minded having BCV pts at all but it is so much easier with all the pts at one resort especially when trying to get standard views at BWV.

I don't think you can go on the waitlist before 7 months on a non-home resort points.

DeeP - Congratuations!

I understand.

We have an adequate sized contract at OKW, and then we added on VWL. We first got 104 pts, and within a week we upped it to 150. After that, we decided to get 100 more pts. and could have gotten them at BCV. We went with VWL again.

It's just easier to work with all the pts. you need at each resort than having to deal with the 7 month booking window.

Maybe someone out there will be willing to trade you.
We have Okw (150pts.) BCV (150pts) and add on points at
BWV (25pts). I haven't had any problems using my add on points, but like you, would like them at my home resort. Preferrably at the BCV. I used them for 2003. But I am thinking of selling them in 2004, or possibly trading someone with equal pts. Put it out there, you never know........... someone might trade you!:D

What do you mean by trade. Can I trade the contract??? Or just the points each year.

I'd like to trade the 50 BCV to BWV.

Would it be possible to buy 50 pts at BWV now that it's available and simply sell your BCV contract through the Timeshare Store? Would that solve your problem?

I'm sure that is a possibility, but it will more than likely result in a fairly significant $$ loss. Believe the brokers all have a minimum commission. Maybe it would be worth it to Dizzy4Dizney, but I don't think it would be for me.

I know that many members really like having points at more than one resort, but unless you really want to stay at that "other" resort, I think it is a hassle (it's hard for me to use the waitlist - too much stress) and just one more reason to "Buy where you want to stay the most!"

Hope everything works out for you, Dizzy!

Thanks for all the replys. I guess I'll just figure out a spread sheet to make sure I don't mess up my reservations and don't lose points!

By trading I meant .......... as if you sold it, but no money passing hands.

If you could find someone with BWV points who would like BCV, try trading verse selling. Just contact your lawyer to draw up the documents. Of course lawyer fees would be involved.

I would try to buy direct for BWV during your use year, then sell your BCV on www.tug2.net, no cost except the membership fee which is either 10-20 a year. then use a closing company to handle the closing, then you don't have to pay the broker a large amount for a small contract. I don't think you can just trade with someone.
