WISH checkin thread week of November 30, 2003

Well I gained a pound and a half, I was pretty good on Thanksgiving but yesterday my family all got together for brunch and my will power just went out the window.
I did exercise this weekend though so hopefully I will re-lose that pound and half quickly and get back on track.

Morning everyone. It's also been a long time since I've checked in here, but I'm going to make it a practice from now on.:D

I'm not sure how much I gained because I hadn't weighed myself for a while. I'm guessing a good bit. But I'm not going to be discouraged and since Sat. I've lost 4 pounds.

Back on the saddle again!

Have a good week everyone......I'm pullin' for ya!;)

I'm up 2-3 lbs. I didn't count points over the holiday weekend but I'm getting back on track today. So hopefully next week I'll show a loss.

My husband and I started the South Beach diet this morning and I weighed myself for the first time in a long while. The scale said 282.5. That's a shocker! Anyway, I hope to report a loss next week when I check in. My goals are to exercise for 30 minutes each day (stationary bike), drink 5-7 mugs of water (using my Hilton Head DVC mug which is I think 16-24 ounces) and stay on Phase I for two weeks with no cheats!

I started this morning with my bike ride and I ate a ham, cheese and mushroom omelet with a cup of tea sweetened with Splenda (good stuff). I just had my mid-morning snack, string cheese, and I have my tuna stuffed tomato waiting for me for lunch. I am so pumped and motivated, I just hope I can be successful. This is the first time DH and I have ever tried to lose weight together. I look forward to all the support that's available on this board. You guys are great! As you say, onward and downward!

Start date: 12/01/03
Weight: 282.5
Initial goal: take off 10% body weight (28 pounds)

Checking in. All in all, it looks like not too much damage for anyone. Congratulations all, for doing your best over the weekend. I don't know how I'm doing weight wise. Haven't weighed in for almost 2 weeks now. Clothes still fit, so I can't be doing too bad. I was very well behaved on Thanksgiving. Fishermans Stew was awesome. I noshed on cheese and crackers though. Friday was ok, though I did go to the Crack House, but only had one fajita. More cheese and crackers, throughout the weekend. I, like Lisa TX had Double whammy with TOM and the holiday. I will wait to weigh in on Thursday at the gym, and will be delighted with maintenance.

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

Still stalled...haven't gained or lost in weeks. Ah well...the scale will start moving eventually. :)

Lisa...welcome and good luck! My top weight was 265, and I'm at 209 right now. Take that motivation and never look back. You can do it!!!

Lisa, here's another gal who was in the 280's. 286 to be exact!! I was down almost 50 pounds before WISH (Atkins) but then gained some. Currently I'm off about 30.

Good Luck to you and your husband. That is so great that you will have each other to depend on. Don't get discouraged if he loses faster than you. You know men lose faster/easier don't you? Not fair, but that's the way it is.:D :sunny:

After a long stall I lost 2 more lbs. this morning, bringing me down to 238. Not bad - that's now 90 lbs. gone from my officially recorded highest. Now to drop another 39 before spring........

I appreciate the encouragement! I've got a long way to go and just plan on making mini goals along the way. Even though it's only been a 1/2 day, I can already feel a difference in my mental attitude. Usually after a heavy carb-ladden lunch, I would be ready for a nap under my desk but I feel pretty alert. A benefit already!

I hope to be able to report a loss next week.

Hi everyone:wave:
1lb loss to report this week. Wish it was a bigger loss - hoping Whoosh Fairy pays me a visit soon:teeth:
Hope everyone has a great week
Helen:wave2:

<font color=blue> I am sad :( to report a 1 lb gain this week.

I overdid it the whole weekend visiting family and friends. At least the damage was not more extensive and I hope to do much better this week.

Lost 1.5 lbs. and doing a happy dance! I'm currently at 190 and my new goal for December is to lose 6 lbs. by 12/31!

Congratulations to all our losers and maintainers, keep up the great work!

For those who gained, hang in there, it was a challenging week for a lot of folks, but today is a new day.

I lost .2 this week, which isn't much, but I will take it. 16.8 pounds more to goal and .8 to a new clippie! Onward and downward!!!

:cool1: Doin' the clippie dance! :cool1:

I'm still not sure how I managed it, but I am estatic to announce that I have another 4 pounds gone this week - and a beautiful new clippie! Only 4 pounds to go to my New Years goal, and 8 pounds to that super-shiny platinum clippie. I can't wait! I kept up my exercise over the long weekend, and have now racked up 113 days in a row. Yee-haw!

My eating over the past week was OK, and I actually did well on Thanksgiving - ate a small lunch, and then ate a lot of veggies at dinner, along with all the good stuff. :o I did have a second helping of several things, which wasn't in my game plan for the day, but overall I felt good about it. Friday, OTOH, was much worse. I didn't know what was planned for dinner, so I had a bigger lunch - and then we ended up staying at my parents for another day, which meant all the leftovers for dinner! My brain went out the window, and I ate almost as much as the night before. Argh!

I was pretty upset with myself over that, but I got right back on the eating-healthy horse the next day, including eating a very reasonable dinner at Fresh Choice (lots of broccoli on my salad, only one slice of bread). Now I just have to stick with it over the next few weeks - which include a couple of potluck lunches at work, a brunch with my family, and then Christmas in Ohio with DH's family. Not to mention rehearsals, two concerts, and of course, shopping. Eeek!

Thanks for checking in, everyone! You can do it!

OK folks, I'm off to WDW this week and am very happy about it.

I was very carefull this week when making choices on what foods I wanted. I didn't have potatoes or stuffing so that I could try some desserts...yes plural. I had a taste of a few but not too much. I didn't feel as if I was missing anything, new for me when dieting, and I wasn't stuffed, also new for me.

Just got back from the Dr's and I lost another 8#, grand total of 43# since September. :bounce:

I didn't hit my 50 lb goal by our WDW trip but with me having hurt my back and immobile for 1 month and a half I am not complaining.

Write you when we get back...hopefully lighter, but I doubt it!

Hi All,

Just back from my weigh in today and I have lost another 2.5 lbs:Pinkbounc
That is 14lb in total. I am so pleased with myself, as I wanted to lose this much before my trip to WDW:D
I will not be getting weighed now till Jan 2004..Oh My that seems a long way off.

Well done to everybody::yes::

As a result of being somewhat off plan while I was out of town the week before Thanksgiving and a big Thanksgiving meal and several small cheats on T Week, I was up 1.75 this week. :(

I'm taking this as a lesson and that lesson is the less that I go off plan, the better! It's so hard for me to get completely back on track after getting off! When I eat off plan, then the next week I feel so hungry!! So, for me, while the momentary pleasure is great, there are longer term effects to deal with---it's just not worth it!

I'm back on track now and hoping for an improved weigh in next week!

Down a 1/2 lb this week - not as great as last week's 3 lb loss, but at least it is in the right direction. I am at 19.8 total for WW since September- I was joking that I should have taken off my watch and rings and made it a full 20! ;-) And 14 total for WISH. I am so close to new Clippie I can't stand it! Next week for sure!

I have a challenging weekend ahead, but I think I should be able to work around it- we have plans for Saturday night and I know it is going to be a junk food dinner (pizza etc) so need to be lean the rest of the day in preparation - I am going to try to think of something to bring "snacky" that is safe for me to munch on - and will try to watch my pizza portions.

Everyone have a great week and we'll see you around the boards!

Hi everyone! I have been avoiding this place for a few weeks now. Sorry. I am still at 164. Just 1 lb to go to get my first 5lb clippie.

Had a rough couple of weeks but things seem to be brightening up.

So happy that everyone is still losing so much weight.

Keep up the good work, and encouragement that I get every time I read that you guys lose weight. It keeps me going.
