WISh Check-in week of September 7

Gimme that CLIPPIE! No, not that one, the 10-POUNDER!!! My body finally caught on to this whole eating less - moving more thing, and I lost 7 POUNDS this week! Turns out I was definitely retaining water last week, as TOM showed up unexpectedly (always irregular), but I've lost all that water and more. What an amazing boost to my motivation.

I had a very successful week, not giving up when the scale went up earlier in the week, and continuing my exercise (29 days and counting). My sister just joined WW (20 pounds to lose), so we've planned our own little Halloween goal, with the plan of doing something together when we make it. She was also really proud of me and my new lifestyle (it was a surprise).

Saturday is my first monthly measurement day at Curves, so I'll have some more numbers to report next week. I can't believe it has been almost a month. Then again, I'm ready to do this for life!

Thanks to everyone for your support. It means a lot to me!

Hi there everyone!!! Just a quick check in---not going to weigh in until Thurs (normally do it on Mondays, but just got back from WDW and did not do my best down there, plus am very depressed to be back home:( )

Will post my nbrs on Friday, as well as my 3rd month measurements from Curves (WOW - I can't believe I've been working out there 3x a week for the last 3 months!!!)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

This is my first official WISH WI and I am happy to report a 2lb loss. That 5lb clippie will be mine soon, yeah!

Thanks everyone for the motivation.

Well, I suck. I ate like crap. But I exercised. I know it's my fault for the eating like crap part, but that doesn't make me feel any better. I gained 2 lbs. Blah. I hate myself right now - I know I shouldn't and it'll be better next week but right now I feel like giving up the whole thing and just being wh oI am. Maybe God made me this way on purpose. If it's such a struggle to lose it, why try so hard?

Frustrated and mad...

Christiana

Please Please Please don't give up! Just remember how you felt a year ago, aren't you doing better? And, come on, no one will be "perfectly on plan" all the time. You are just living real life, and now you can go on your plan like before. Don't dwell on the past, just look ahead. (Except for realizing how far you have come!)

I know you can do this....

Posting a day late but I am reporting a 1lb loss for a grand total of 40lbs!!!!!!! I am so happy that I finally get my 40lb clippie!
Congratulations to all the losers and maintainers this week. Keep up the good work. For anyone that gained, don't give up. We did not gain all this weight overnight and we will not lose it that way either. Some weeks are tougher than others but just stick to your plan and the results will show. Have a great week!!

Well, I checked in with my doctor yesterday and I got great news! I have lost a total of 58 lbs. since June 11, and I have lost 19 lbs. since joining WISH! I am one happy camper!

Since the lake house was still rented for another day from our family reunion weekend grandma asked if me and the kids wanted to come back for the night- how could we refuse?? But alas there were no scales there and I refuse to weigh mid-day! :) So I'm posting a day late- but I'm probably RELIEVED I did- I can happily post a no loss/no gain week aka maintenance week! :) I was really worried the cheats I had at the reunion would wreck my week- but I weighed exactly 191 which puts me at exactly 45 pounds gone- I have a picture to post and as soon as dh scans it in you can all see me minus 100 butter sticks or so! :)...it inspires me to get that 75 pound clippie by Christmas-

ONWARDS AND DOWNWARDS TEAM!!!

2 weeks until our Disney VACATION!!! :) YIPPEE!!!!

ok, let me just preface my WI results with this:

and you toric contact lens wearers will totally understand!

I wear contacts for astigmatism and they have to been in JUST the right place to see perfectly. anyhow, this morning I was really really have trouble focusing on my dial scale!! I kept blinking and blinking and it wasn't working! and my head and eyes are just fuzzy in the morning anyhow. So I think I saw 137 and then 136, so I'm claiming 136.5 today :) I actually stood on that scale for a minute or more trying to focus!! I'm going to look for a magnifying glass to attach to that darn thing!

I don't think of this as a "loss" as I was at 135 for a brief moment, but more like "I'm down to 136.5" in hopes of seeing 135 next week!

I have missed everyone here! I started going to an accelorated weekend college program this past weekend and since last Friday I have not had a moment to log on and see how everyone is doing. It has been a stressful 2 weeks with school starting up (I teach computers), full time college classes on the weekend and keeping up with my family! Even with the stress, I did not cheat. I found "safe foods" for when I felt my stress level rising and I am proud to report - - - 4 more pounds lost since my last week check in!

This weekend I am off to WDW with just my DD (age 7 - we are leaving the boys at home!). Hopefully all of the walking will help me not gain any of this weight back!

Great job to everyone who lost this week!
Jen

I am checking in before I read. Last week I read and then got so busy that I didn’t check in! I know you all missed me.

I finally did it! I’ve been doing soooo good that it just had to happen. Yup! I gained last week—3 pounds total. I did some experimenting and found that I can’t be adding too much here at all. I am still trying to find myself eating wise and as long as I stick to the low carbs I do well.

I am trying to mix it up with my eating a bit and find that quite a challenge. At least there is the knowledge that I am doing things healthier mostly and I am monitoring things so that I will NEVER go up to my unhappy weight again NOT EVER! I find some comfort in this and at least. I am not beating up on myself as I do understand that it took a long while for me to climb up (although really it didn’t seem that way as I just woke up one day and found someone else in the mirror) and it is taking a while to climb down (sometimes longer than I have patience).

I am exercising more too. I walk TM while watching TV and find the actresses so thin and energetic on some days that will inspire me to keep going. I just want less weight and I already have been experiencing more energy while I am doing well with my program.

I still celebrated my overall loss and bought 2 pair of pants TWO sizes smaller than when I started. With my bit of a gain, they don’t look as good as the will soon. I am going to fit into these in no time—just a bit more to lose and I can wear them confidently.

I have found a goal too!! I am working my way to my goal and I actually think I can get to it eventually.

Congratulations to everyone for being here. Good luck with being healthier. Don’t give up. Do this for you! You are worth it. Keep on keepin’ on.

This is everyone who posted on page two. I love reading about everyone's progress!

ead79 Way to go, cutie! That clipart looks beautiful in your signature. You are on your way to goal for sure and I'm so proud of you!

LisaTx So, you only post here when you get to celebrate? WOO HOO!!! Losing 3.5 pounds in one week is just awesome progress. I'm really impressed with those 5 inches you lost too. It's a great feeling to be able to wear a smaller size, isn't it?

Love that new clipart, it looks great on you. Are you feeling proud? I hope so because I'm sure feeling proud of you!

becka Awww, sweetie. You sound so downhearted. Sounds like those offplan foods caused you to retain some fluid. That mean old bloat fairy is always laying in wait for us to go off plan, huh?

I hope your toe gets 100% better very soon. Once you are not having pain I think you will not only feel better but you will do better. When you feel a pity party coming on, never hesitate to come here to WISH and vent. You know we're always here for you, that's what WISH is all about.

Just don't give up. I don't think you really want to give up, do you? Hang in there. I'm proud of you for posting here even though you weren't happy with your progress this past week.

*Flower* Good job! Another pound gone forever. That is wonderful progress, especially since you had a trip to NYC.

Okay, look. I don't think you need a kick in the behind except that you aren't celebrating your wonderful success. You lost one whole pound and you didn't eat any of that wonderful cheese cake!!! You are successful and you don't even appreciate that fact. Shame on you!

{{{HUGS}}} my friend. I am feeling very proud of you--I just wish you were feeling proud of yourself.

Can't wait until November :-)

vfb2girls Awww, I'm so jealous! You are going to be grandparents again?? I sure wish I had grandchildren. I'd settle for just one ;-)

Good job losing a whole pound despite the celebrations. You are doing great and I'm proud of you.

Debbie WOO HOO!!!! The Whoosh Fairy was kind to you, too. Love that new clippie. You are doing so well. You must be feeling so very proud. I'm sure feeling proud of you, my friend. Good job!

Amelia WOW! You lost 3.5 pounds in just one week? Way to go! Love that pretty new clipart. I'll bet you get to trade up again, soon though, so don't get too attached.

You are so successful with this, you've lost 49 pounds so far? Excellent. I'm so happy and proud for you--be proud of yourself.

Kitster Well, let's see. You took the challenge on 8/4 so you've been following this way of eating about 4 weeks, give or take a few days. That means you have been losing an average of 1.25 pounds per week. If you do that for a year then you will lose 65 pounds in one year. In fact, that's almost 7% of the total amount of weight you want to lose. That is progress sweetie. Don't let a self imposed timeline sabotage your efforts. If you exercise and stay with your eating plan the weight will come off. It may not come off as quickly as you wish, but it will come off.

Men lose so much faster than women. My husband lost 13.5 pounds his first week on Atkins...I didn't. But, I've taken the Atkins plan as my lifetime plan, I don't plan to stop eating that way even after I reach goal, so I figure it doesn't do me any good to get in a hurry, to be impatient.

What kind of workout are you doing everyday? A good workout will help you lose weight more quickly. Don't worry, the whoosh fairy could visit you any day, now. Don't give up, hang in there. You can do this, all of your WISH friends are going to help you.

By the way, do you journal your food intake? You might want to use the journals at www.fitday.com --doing that can help you identify any possible "carb creep" in your diet.

LuvTigger I like your attitude. Sounds like you have things under control and you are doing well. Your positive attitude will help you reach goal.

I'm curious. When you say that you are adding "carbs" do you mean refined carbohydrates or the carbohydrates found in fruits and vegetables? I'm not familiar with the Health Point plan so I'm learning here :-)

Good job this week, thanks for posting here even though you didn't see a loss reflected on the scale this week.

dalepool You've been lurking??? *gasp*

Ouch about those injuries. I'm glad you are okay to start exercising again, that's going to help. What an accomplishment to not regain all your weight even though you were not able to work out.

It's great to see you here again, Patty. Don't stay away so long again, okay? I miss you when you aren't here.

KathyTX Who in the world would move a WW meeting to a Sunday afternoon? YUCK is right.

Hang in there, the WHOOSH fairy will find you soon. You are so close to goal, I imagine losing these last pounds is going to take a while. I'm proud of you for not giving up even though you still haven't earned that 50 pound loss clipart. You are so close. I'll bet you earn it soon.

Thanks for posting here. I know it's not as much fun when you don't have a loss to report.

honeymo78 Way to go! Another 2 pounds gone forever. You are doing so well and I'm very happy and proud for you. I'll bet you earn that 20 pound loss clipart soon.

I'm especially proud of those inches you lost. Getting smaller is our true goal and you are definitely getting smaller. Good job!

So, how did I get so far behind? YIKES! This is everyone who posted their progress to page two. I loved reading about your weeks.

Onward and downward!

Katholyn

I am maintaining... which is what I am purposefully doing at the moment! I am within 5 lbs of my goal weight and trying to ease very very slowly into goal - which is what Dr. Atkins advises. It may take me a LONG time to get there... but I feel great and have been doing really well at maintaining. Something I never managed to do before when I did low fat diets.

Just thought I would let you know I am around and kicking - just not focussed on weight loss at the moment... but instead my focus is on continueing to improve my bodyfat composition and to properly transition from the weight loss phase into lifetime maintenance.

Well, this is my first check in. I lost 16 lbs. over the last 2 weeks!! Very happy about that!

29#'s down 21#'s to go till I reach my first goal!

Lost one pound this week, also, I was able to get rid of the 5lbs I picked up over my very bad labor day weekend! Thank God it was mostly water!

Have great weekends eveyone!

Hi WISH friends! I hope everyone has been have a great week so far. It's been a really good week for me... I lost another 2.3 lbs! I'm soooooo close to that 15 pound clippie... So far, I've lost 14.4! :teeth:

I'm also excited because my boyfriend is going to unofficially start WW (he doesn't want to go to the meetings) .. he's already started counting points and I've noticed that he's starting to make better food choices. I'm hoping that he'll stick with it!

My first official week is over and tho I didn't really get full swing into Atkins (finished of my favorite cereal last weekend!) the WHOOSH fairy swept in and carried of 6 lbs! I was expecting a good loss the first week (water weight and all that) but was surprised at 6. I won't claim my five lb clippie yet, however, as in about 10 hours I head off for 3 days at Disneyland! I'm traveling with another Atkins follower and the plan is to stay on program Friday and Sunday. Saturday will be a carb day, as we are doing the Fantasmic! balcony desert buffett thingie. THe true last hurrah in the sweet department...then it's 7 weeks of dilligence until the WDW trip in November. So if I still deserve that clippie on Monday, I'll grab it....if not, I'll get it by next Friday!(if I can remember where to find it)
Everybody keep up the good work and we'll be seeing 'less' of each other!
.
Oh yeah, just bought Dr Phil's book tonight and the WATP tape....can't wait to get started on both:Pinkbounc

Hi!
My first week is over and I am happy to announce a 4 1/2 pound loss. I am trying to maintain my momentum to exercise and willpower to drink water and eat less.

Weight Watchers has worked for me in the past and I intend to make it work again...for the last time. I need to get in shape and healthy for my first trip to WDW.

Have a good week, everyone!
Lynn

Am I the only one have a heck of a time getting onto the DIS boards? Whew - I am glad to finally be able to get on WISH and be able to post. :)

This week has been crazy here (sick kiddos) but I wanted to make sure I met Katholyn's challenge of always checking in so....
I am checking into say that I maintained this week. I am not surprised and am expecting a weight gain next week as my body adjusts to the weight training.

Slow and steady wins the race and slowly and steadily, I will win this one!!

Onward and downwards we go! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

3 lbs for me after my first week at WW. Doing WW on my own and had a great first week. Looking forward to kicking up the exercise this coming week. DH has also decided to do WW, so that makes it a bit easier for me. Looking forward to my 5lb clippie next week. :)
