The tracking spreadsheet is up and running:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p2mSDyx16nAzm4ETNTavrTg&hl=en

All team members may follow the link to view our progress.

Team captains and co-captains have the ability to enter information. Here's some additional info for you:

Mileage will show to 2 decimal points, so if someones weekly mileage is 23 3/4 miles, enter the mileage as 23.75.

Please enter time as "hh:mm" in the "Time Entry" field. This will automatically convert to a number in the next column (Time Calc).Time shows in hours and minutes (hh:mm); to enter time less than 1 hour you must enter leading zeroes (for example, 55 minutes must be entered as 00:55); to enter time greater than an hour, you may either enter the toal minutes with leading zeroes (for example, 75 minutes entered as 00:75 will convert to 1:15 once the document is saved OR you may enter the hours and minutes )for example, 1 1/4 hours would be entered as 1:15). Hope this isn't too confusing.

One more thing I haven't figured out how to do without compromising the integrity of the calculations is have the time convert from hours to days. If we're all happy seeing 100 hours, rather than 4 days of exercise then this isn't a problem.

Once you are completed entering data, please remember to save and close (the button is on the upper left had corner of the page).

On the last worksheet, we can see a direct comparison of how teams are progressing.

Any questions, concerns, suggestions...let me know!

Thanks for letting me do this!

Is there any way to do a split screen? I looked but I couldn't find one. It would make it easier to enter everything. Thanks, you have done a marvelous job!

I don't think so. I lost a lot of formatting when I uploaded, such as my frozen column A which would have meant the names would reamin visible as we scrolled through the year. I think we'll have to hide columns as we progress.

I may have lost formatting, but on the bright side, all my calculations seem to have remained intact.

Thanks. That will work or we can just use it like we did in the good old days! Just keep scrolling across! Thanks, again! It's great.

Darcey...thanks so much,
But can you PLEASE go in and correct the spelling of my screen name? It will bug me if I have to see it wrong every week. Besides, the word IRON is the key part of the name (as in Ironman).

thanks!!

Hi Darcy,

My hours aren't working out correctly. I am wondering if we nned to go with decimals??

Hi Darcy,

My hours aren't working out correctly. I am wondering if we nned to go with decimals??

That's what I'm thinking. I've discovered that my time formats were also changed during the upload. I'll go in and change all the sheets later today.

Google docs dumbed down my spreadsheet and I now have a greater appreciation for the full version of Excel.

So, Darcey, do you want us to put times in with decimals and if so, do we need to convert such as 1-1/2 hours would be 1:30 but do we need to put it in as 1.5?? I am not going to post our totals until either later tonight or Sunday due to my time constraints so if you are going to try and put in a fix, let me know so I wait.

I am more than willing to change my team to decimals, but I don't want to mess you up! Let me know how you want to go with this.

I don't think I was ever given access. My e-mail is wtpclc@sbcglobal.net - Nevermind. I was expecting an "invite". Looks liek I'm good. Thansk!!!!!

I like having hundres of hours instead of days.

Darcey,

I fixed the hours issue (won't have to do decimals) and tested it using a cloned document...worked fine in Google Docs :)

check your e-mail :goodvibes:

Darcy!! You did it again! Thanks. I love the split screen, you have made the program absolutely user friendly!

Okay teams...I've had some "lost in translation issues" with the upload from full Excel to more limited Google Docs Excel and have had to do some work-arounds. Thanks, Scott for all your help!

First, I've made some updates to the spreadsheet tips thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1707261

Some changes:

1. As of 2/6/08, Google Docs has made available a "freeze columns" option which will allow for easy scrolling across the sheets.

2. I've added a column to convert time into a number. Just enter time (hh:mm) in the "Time Entry" field and the "Time Calc" field will automatically convert it. (This may become a problem if/ when an individual's weekly time goes beyod 24 hours.)

I think that's it, except for some current "technical difficulties" Google is attempting to resolve.

Thanks for everyone's patience while we work out the bugs. Those numbers are really adding up...QUITE IMPRESSIVE!

I'm having some trouble with the time column. I enetered some stuff in the wrong box so I deleted it and now I can't get the time calc to work in those boxes. I had to do the calculations manually and now the time totals do not show up. I am a complete computer illiterate. Can you fix this for me? Thanks for your help and sorry for being so dense!

For some reason my home PC does not like the spreadsheet. No big deal, just means I'll likely be last to enter on Monday mronings. Thanks fro all your hard work Darcey!
