WISH Away The Pounds~ Marvelous May 2014 Challenge! *All Welcome!*

SUCH an "a-ha" moment!! Think about what you would say to a friend (instead of to yourself). Would you tell them that they were a failure? Would you tell them that they "blew it" for May??? Would you convince them that they had to be PERFECT? Of COURSE NOT!! So why do we always talk to ourselves that way?

As you friend I want you to be happy with "good enough" for the month of May!! If you struggle for a meal, a day, or even a week..... start fresh ASAP! You have been a HUGE inspiration for me regarding the exercise (notice that I am doing a mile a day for May, a la Rose!!) and that in itself is a WIN!! Sure, plan your meals, plan your water, plan your exercise..... but when life throws a wrench in your plans, give yourself an hour or a day to regroup and start again!! Look at 5 or 6 am every day as a do-over, a fresh start, a reset button!! EVERY DAY is the possibility of giving yourself another chance.

Now go hug Jessie, smile in the mirror at yourself, and have an AMAZING MAY!! :hug:

*****************

Phew.... the worst part of the day is over.... MATH! I was not created to teach fractions to first graders!!:rolleyes1

They are at recess and then have lunch.... I have lunch duty with them and will eat with them in order to get my lunch as late as possible (technically it is my lunch time now).

The sun was shining beautifully about 20 minutes ago, but now it has clouded over and they are predicting showers for this afternoon, so I'm not sure about today's planned 2 mile run/1 mile walk.... it may end up being on the TM, which actually gives me neck pain I've discovered. It may be time to buy a new TM.

I've done nearly 2 weeks of green smoothies for breakfast and I think I am ready to go back to real food for breakfast.... they just do NOT keep me full. I was absolutely famished by 10 am, ate my small snack (cheese)at 10:30, and now I am starving again and can't wait until lunch in a few minutes!

I am considering doing another juice fast (2 or 3 days), but that would mean that I have to head to the market tonight in order to have the produce on hand... and April's grocery spending was waaaaay over budget (probably in part due to two juice fasts I did), so I'm not sure I want to spend the money.

Off to my lunch duty! TTYL.................P

So what did you decide about the juice fast, Pamela? I take it the PB2 wasn't enough to keep those hungries at bay as long as you needed? I know I absolutely have to have protein, and a good amount, like 2 eggs (6 grams protein for 4 WW points) to feel full until lunch. What are you using for protein for your juice?

So very near where I went to college (Grove City)! I live in Somerset, PA which is a little more than an hour southeast of Pittsburgh.

Cool! I am very close to Grove City, in Sharon :)

Yay! Another PA peep :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lots of PA folks on the thread for sure! :cool2:
Hey guys! I only have a quick 5 minutes before I have to go teach my high school boys class. World History test anyone? :)
I made a grocery list during my lunch break and am shopping right after school. Now that the weather is better, I am excited to get back to eating more fruits and veggies. The fruit and veggie selection this winter was pretty sorry in my area. Some things I just don't eat, some didn't look good, and lots were way too much money. Plus, I try to shop local, so buying fruits from Mexico and South America bothers me. So, I am planning to stock up today and get this weight that I gained the last 2 month off!
DS11 (well, 11 tomorrow) has soccer tonight from 6-7:30 so I'm not sure what I'll do about exercise today. I would love to walk while he's at practice, but I doubt DS7 will want to walk lol. Maybe I'll bring DS7's soccer ball and practice with him.
Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow because I have a 7 mile walk planned with my sister. We have a great time walking and mostly talking :lmao:
Anyhow, I better run. Have a great Friday!
Jill
Hope that you and your sister had a great walk! :sunny:
Okay friends.... gotta share how PROUD of myself I am. Just getting unofficially back into running and today completed a half mile warm up walk and 2 mile run in 30 minutes... I estimated my warm up at about 7 minutes, so that puts my run at 11.5 minutes each mile (although I KNOW my return mile is faster, as it is more downhill). Not really going for speed/time, but nice to know that I haven't fallen TOO far away from the 10.5 - 11 minute miles I was doing a few summers ago!
So today's mile (plus) is done.... just gotta get the plank done before I have dinner!
Making a homemade pizza for DS and I'll give DH some leftovers. Not sure what I will have, as I forgot to defrost dinner (where is the dope slap smilie when you need it!?).... but I'm sure I'll find something! TTYL............P
Congratulations on your run today, Pamela! And nice to know your time isn't too far off from what it was. :cool2: I hope this will be that exercise that you love and look forward to doing. :flower3:
Hi Everyone! I'm Erin! I work in television which makes my life ever changing but I love it! I live with my DBF who is also on his life style change journey. We're going to his brother's wedding so I'm working on being in my fancy dress.
I had my last fitting today and it had to be taken in more! The number on the scale hasn't been going down but there has been a difference!
My goals for this month are to keep going down (or at least keep building muscle) so I can get some new outfits for our Disney trip in May!
Congrats on getting back to running! You're at a good time...I stepped away from it and I'm not sure I even want to get back to running! cardio, yes, but running...ehhhhh
*****
I've been at my parents' the past few days. My brother was in his senior pageant and super cute! He didn't win but we celebrated him! I've been much better when going out to eat. I think it's important to keep doing those things even if it might not be the best right now so I keep learning how to live my life. when I reach my goal I'll still go out, so I better learn now rather than undo everything later!
Sounds like busy times for you, Erin! You are so right that you have to be able to make a healthy lifestyle fit in with family celebrations, eating out and even weddings! ::yes::
Hey, I'm Susan, 46 lost a bunch of weight thanks to the boards and a back injury about 5 years ago have gained about half back. I've really gotten into weight lifting in the last year and eat pretty healthy but I eat too much still and drink at night. (moderately) I'm actually pretty happy where I am right now but want to really work on my weights this month and if I manage to lose a little too I'd be ecstatic. I have too many cats that I completely adore and am really looking forward to being a gramma in Sept.
I made an important discovery today--I tried southwest egg beaters. I did mix eggs in with it but I used to whole little box and my veggie omelet thingy turned out sooo good! This is a remarkable discovery for me....
Sounds delicious! Thanks for the tip, Susan! :thumbsup2
Question of the Day
Does spring inspire you to get out and do yard work?
Spring does inspire me to get outside and work in the yard! :daisy::butterfly:flower1: Unfortunately I live in the Northwest where spring means rain -- lots and lots of rain. :umbrella: So it can be a challenge to get things done when you want to but we really look forward to spending time outside this time of year.
We have a great day and if that is all we had to do I would be happy. BUT a few years ago my sil can't mow her lawn and fil asked dh to do it. The a couple of years ago fil asked dh to do his. Before ds2 left for college he would go and help but once he left for college I got recruited. So during the summer we do 3 lawns every week or 2. It takes a lot of time because they are a distance away but we do it.
It is going to be a bittersweet day today. It is the party to celebrate my parents 60th anniversary. My mother had put down the deposit and they wouldn't return it so we are going on a lunch cruise around Manhattan to celebrate.
Dh and I had fun last night. We went to see Shrek the Musical at a local community theater. I had worked on a some costumes so I got 2 free tickets. We had great seats and loved the show. It was even more fun since we knew the actor playing Shrek.
Have a happy and healthy day.
I hope that you had a good time at the party, Dona. I know you all miss your dad every single day but I hope some of the good memories help to ease your spirit. :flower3:
Like many of us April was not one of my best months. I went to WW yesterday and found I had basically maintained for the past month -- I had even used my WI pass that is how bad April went. :sad2: This week's topic was plateau and the leader said something that really resonated with me. Don't think of a plateau as a time you are not losing but think of it as a time that you are not gaining! :hippie:
Good evening all! It's a slow weekend around here! I hope everyone is out enjoying the spring weather. I had a busy weekend and am finally finding some time to relax. I didn't get a workout in today with church and an away travel soccer game. I think after DSs head to bed I will do a quick yoga dvd. I'm pretty sure I have plantar fasciitis :( I'm okay when I am actually walking, but after I stop, it's all downhill. I walked 7 miles yesterday and was fine. But, the rest of the day my heel hurt pretty bad. I looked up some youtube videos for stretching & rolling, so I think I'll try the yoga to help with that. It's not so bad today, though.
On a side note, I am looking for a 1/2 marathon in the fall. Anyone ever run or walk the Wineglass 1/2, Niagara Falls 1/2, or a Rock N Roll 1/2? These are the ones I'm considering, but leaning toward the RnR 1/2 in Cleveland because it's closest. I always thought running (or walking) would be a cheap exercise, but it's really expensive! I guess if all I bought were shoes and clothes, it wouldn't be that bad. But, races are so much fun! And, pricey!
Also, has anyone tried the T25 workout yet? I have a friend that did it and loved it, but I hate to spend the money and not like it. Just wondered if anyone had any feedback.
Okay, I am going to go clean up from today and start getting ready for tomorrow (I so dislike packing lunches!). Have a great end to the weekend :)
Jill
Good Sunday evening.
Yesterday went well. My mother enjoyed herself and it was a nice cruise around Manhattan. I would love to do it in the evening one day. If I get a chance later on in the week I will post of picture of dh and I and our sons. We got some nice shots.
I am going to post tomorrow's question of the day tonight since I don't want to wake the dog. He sleeps right next to the computer and he doesn't wake up until dh gets up which is when I go up to get dressed for work.
Monday's Question of the Day
What is your most productive day of the week?
Do you have a most productive time of day?
Have a happy and healthy day.
Always doing your best in any given situation is a great way to live. Waiting for a perfect situation to begin doing anything is just procrastination and NOT a way to live. It's actually a good way to miss living.
Have a great Friday, ladies!
So very true! And what I tend to do to way too much. I worry too much about making the wrong decision and then make no decision.....Thanks for sharing.
SUCH an "a-ha" moment!! Think about what you would say to a friend (instead of to yourself). Would you tell them that they were a failure? Would you tell them that they "blew it" for May??? Congrats! :)
I am fighting achilles tendonitis in both feet/calves right now, and so speed is something I only dream of. :) Happy to just get the miles in.
What sparked this desire to run again?
I'm off to my running group this morning and will finish replies later. For anyone who was wondering how my race went on Sunday -- it was fabulous! :cool2: It was in the 40's and pouring rain -- got a PR and took 5:33 from my time last year for this 5 mile race. :yay:
:cool1: Congratulations Lisa!
Jill
Jill if you are catching it early it might not be too big a deal.
But google fat pad injury. I thought I had p-f for about 6 months (and I did) but my bad pain was coming from a bad fat pad injury in my heal. If it is p-f and you caught it early it should respond to stretching, rolling your calves and using a golf ball on the scar tissue in your foot. Ice is your friend and I would try to ice at least twice a day. Don't walk around barefoot right now, and try to stretch before getting out of bed. I went from needing semi-custom inserts to no issues, so it is fixable, just takes a little effort.:goodvibes
I am struggling, but happy to report I have been Coke free since last Wednesday. Today was very challenging, but I did it and I am excited! Once I have the Coke cravings under control, I am going to work on the processed sugar/carbs, but for now it's baby steps. I did meal plan and hoping to get on track tomorrow with my goals for the month. :)
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Good afternoon everyone. For the first Question of the day for the month of May Let us go with the traditional Question of the Day Introduce yourself and talk about your goals for the month. I will be back after yoga.
Can I join your thread? I think this is just why I need to help motivate me.
My name is Rayana-36 years (just turned). Weighing in at a whopping 194lbs. I have my 3 month checkup with my doctor to recheck all my numbers that are up, she gave me 3 months to loose 10 lbs. I am down 7. I am really hoping I can do more than expected 10. May is going to be a very crazy month for me. Really need to find time to get to the gym. I am married 11years this June to my amazing hubby. I have 3 wonderful children ds9, dd6,ds2. And am very fortunate to be a stay at home mom. We are planning our next trip to WDW at the end of October and scored FD during our stay at the cabins. Looking forward to the journey. I will post more tomorrow. Time for bed.
Howdy all..... just popping in to say hello after a busy weekend! I'm in 1st grade again today (same class as Friday). I did my mile-a-day over the weekend, both days, but nothing more as far as organized exercise.... but yard work, house work, closet cleaning, etc. so I was definitely moving.
Pressing the "reset" button today as far as diet goes.... stayed pretty much within my PPV over the weekend, but ate some junk I know I shouldn't.
TTYL when I have a break!..............P
Glad that you and your sis had a good walk. So sorry about the heel pain. :hug: Plantar Faciitis is the absolute pits. Do all the icing and stretching the Rose suggested. There are inserts that you can put into your running shoes, too, the ones I use are called Berry Feet. The hardest thing is never, ever going barefoot, especially hard after waiting all winter for nice weather. :sunny: If you can't fix it fairly quickly yourself get some help from your doctor and possibly a podiatrist. I suffered with my PF for far too long. :sad2:
Hopefully someone here will have tried T25. Did you try a google search? Sometimes those a session or two is online. Also, if your heel is hurting make sure you wear shoes if you are doing a workout.
Hope your Monday is fabulous! :flower3:
Have a happy and healthy day.
My most productive day of the week is probably Monday or Tuesday -- I do get less productive as the week goes on. ;) But I am always, always most productive in the mornings. :cool2: I am a morning person and can get an amazing amount of stuff done before noon, if I do say so myself. :rotfl:
I am struggling, but happy to report I have been Coke free since last Wednesday. Today was very challenging, but I did it and I am excited! One step at a time, Rose! :flower3: Nice job getting the Coke under control -- it is a toughie for sure. ::yes:: I bet you will be eating some good stuff with the meal planning. You can do it!
Seeing your post reminded me that I just started a new challenge on my ActiveLink this week-end. I'm working on getting to 3 APs a day -- something that I have not been able to do yet consistently. I've worn my ActiveLink for 469 days and increased my activity by 106% during that time. I don't always like y ActiveLink but I think it is very realistic about tracking my activity level and pushes me to do more. :cool2:
I'm with Lisa, I'm more productive early in the week Mon/Tues then start to fizzle. I am most productive in the late morning, it takes me some time to get going :thumbsup2
just popping in to read a little and say :wave: gotta keep my momentum going of getting some desk work done while it's a rainy day
Nothing seemed to be able to make the smoothies more filling (without adding a bunch of calories or fruit sugar), so I think the smoothies will have to be an occasional breakfast or a mid-morning snack (which is what I did today). Egg whites and some veggies or yogurt with fruit seems to be my most filling breakfasts.
Congratulations on your run today, Pamela! And nice to know your time isn't too far off from what it was. :cool2: I hope this will be that exercise that you love and look forward to doing. :flower3:
Nope, still not loving it....but I'm trying to not dread it.
I am going to post tomorrow's question of the day tonight since I don't want to wake the dog. He sleeps right next to the computer and he doesn't wake up until dh gets up which is when I go up to get dressed for work.
Monday's Question of the Day
What is your most productive day of the week?
Do you have a most productive time of day?
Have a happy and healthy day.
I am definitely MOST productive in the morning. I swear, sometimes I get more done in the morning when I am racing around before work, than I do all day sometimes on a Saturday! This morning after showering, make-up, hair, and dressing, I made my bed, put a load of towels on the clothesline, folded a basket of whites and put it away, then made 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches and handwashed some dishes, talked with DD (twice) before heading out for school!
Most productive day really varies.... it definitely depends on my work schedule and weekend schedule. I got a LOT done last Saturday (yard sales, grocery shopping, meal planning/prep for the week). But that isn't always the case.
What sparked this desire to run again?
That would be the desire to NOT be fat again! :rotfl2: I still don't really like running, but the scale is telling me that SOMETHING needs to change!
Okay friends.... kiddos are off to recess, I have my break for a few more minutes, and then I will eat my lunch with the students while I have lunch duty.
I had intended to plan out my wardrobe for the week yesterday, but between yard work and closet cleaning, I never got to it, so I need to do that tonight (after checking the extended forecast, of course). If I don't plan my outfits ahead of time, I find I get stuck in a rut and wear the same things over and over.... mostly because I don't have time to think creatively about what goes with what and because I don't always have plenty of time to iron in the morning. Anyone else plan their outfits ahead? I think I have tomorrow's picked out in my head.... it will depend on if tomorrow is warm enough yet for capris.
Five more minutes to grab my lunch and use the bathroom before lunch duty, so I'll say good-bye for now! I'll try to pop in again later when they go to art.............P
Good morning, friends!
I had a rather hefty Friday night/Saturday in terms of food and wine, so oof. I had great intentions yesterday and had to modify dinner bigtime after discovering that what I thought was a fairly light lunch option at California Tortilla was actually 22 points. :eek: I enjoyed every bite and basically had fruit for dinner. :)
Today I'm feeling motivated to really get my food intake back under control. I've been doing well with exercise, as I start my Dumbo Double Dare training plan, but food has been just crazy lately. I'm tracking, counting, and I don't care what work throws at me tomorrow - I'm getting to my WW meeting on campus at 1pm!
Tonight, I'm starting a women's training program put on by a local runners' society. A friend has been after me to do this for a couple of years, and I just haven't made it there yet. But I'm registered! Every Monday for the next 8 weeks, I'll be with this group, and it sounds great and very motivating. The sessions start with a speaker - on nutrition, fitness, equipment, you name it - and then you break into your workout groups. There are walkers, beginning runners (kind of like a C25K), and advanced beginning runners (me!). I'm hoping to get not only new friends and a good workout out of this but also some lessons in workouts designed to improve my running. I tend to get into running ruts, doing the same thing over and over again, and this should teach me some new training tricks. Here's hoping for good weather on our Monday nights! :)
Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone - we're out for Mexican tonight, but they have a wonderful light salad that will be the perfect pre-workout dinner...
Good morning, friends!
Good for you for taking back control!
Today I'm feeling motivated to really get my food intake back under control. I've been doing well with exercise, as I start my Dumbo Double Dare training plan, but food has been just crazy lately. I'm tracking, counting, and I don't care what work throws at me tomorrow - I'm getting to my WW meeting on campus at 1pm!
Good plan! Most of my members who have been successful will tell you that MEETINGS have been a key point in their success!
That actually sounds GREAT! Wish I had something like that around here!
And Happy Cinco de Mayo to you as well! We just got through talking about it here in class and of COURSE the kids got totally caught up talking about pinatas and candy! :rotfl:
******************
My class is off to Art, I have a fresh cup of coffee (thanks to our PTO and the Teacher Appreciation snacks in the break room) and I am going to jot down a few ideas for my outfits for this week. I may also try to get at least one blog post/idea sketched out. I've been slowly working on a bunch of posts for a blog I hope to start and wanted to have at least 10 good solid posts in hand before I even start.
I should grab my sneakers from the car and go out for a walk, but I'll go out after work today, since dinner is mostly done already.
I also need to prep for tomorrow's WW meeting, since I am working here at school again tomorrow.
I'll dash for now! TTYL....................P
Question of the Day
Does spring inspire you to get out and do yard work?
I'm sorry. I missed Saturday's question. I was busy doing yard work.
:rotfl:
Between shopping at the nursery and starting on the planting (with TONS more to do), I spent the whole weekend doing nothing but yard work. My mom came over and worked with me and we had a really good time. It was about 90 degrees out both days so it was tough in the late afternoon but, it was still a lot of fun.
CONNIE! I was so happy to see that you are back with us! :yay: :yay: :yay: So sorry about the summertime gain but that is in the past and it sounds like you are ready to make some serious progress. ::yes:: Can't wait to catch up with you!
Thank you for that fantastic "welcome back", Lisa! It's good to be back.
You would make a great coach, Connie. We even have a stickie with sample questions so coaches don't have to reinvent the wheel.
I'm not feeling terribly coach-like today. But, we'll see if I can get my act together.
This weekend, I kept using all the yard work as an excuse to not care too terribly much about calorie intake. So, food choices... not so great. Water intake, on the other hand... Yeah, I may have drunk enough water for all of us.
Monday's Question of the Day
What is your most productive day of the week?
Do you have a most productive time of day?
I have found I can be productive most any time if I'll just put on my headphones and get into whatever it is. If I feel less like I'll be interrupted, I'm more likely to get going on something.
At work, I'd say that Monday morning is probably the most productive. Monday is a good "time to get serious" day for just about anything. At home, if I get out of bed in the morning and get started, I'll be productive. If I goof off (sit down) in the morning thinking that I'll start later... nope. Wasted day.
just popping in to read a little and say :wave: gotta keep my momentum going of getting some desk work done while it's a rainy day
Good job getting motivated on a rainy day, Molli. :umbrella:
Aren't you just about ready to head off to fun in the sun in Vegas, baby? :cool2: I was in PHX last week and it is getting to be great pool weather there in the Southwest.
I am definitely MOST productive in the morning. I swear, sometimes I get more done in the morning when I am racing around before work, than I do all day sometimes on a Saturday! This morning after showering, make-up, hair, and dressing, I made my bed, put a load of towels on the clothesline, folded a basket of whites and put it away, then made 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches and handwashed some dishes, talked with DD (twice) before heading out for school!
You are one of the most productive people I know any time of day, Pamela. :flower3:
I had intended to plan out my wardrobe for the week yesterday, but between yard work and closet cleaning, I never got to it, so I need to do that tonight (after checking the extended forecast, of course). If I don't plan my outfits ahead of time, I find I get stuck in a rut and wear the same things over and over.... mostly because I don't have time to think creatively about what goes with what and because I don't always have plenty of time to iron in the morning. Anyone else plan their outfits ahead? I think I have tomorrow's picked out in my head.... it will depend on if tomorrow is warm enough yet for capris.
I have to confess that my wardrobe planning revolves around how well the :laundy: has gone the week-end before. :rotfl2:
Today I'm feeling motivated to really get my food intake back under control. I've been doing well with exercise, as I start my Dumbo Double Dare training plan, but food has been just crazy lately. Have fun with your running group tonight, Liz. :cool2:
I tried a running group this spring and I absolutely love it. I am the pokiest, slowest one of the bunch but I don't mind a bit. I credit my running group for really pushing me to do things I would not have done on my own and helping me to find the joy of running again. They really pushed me out of my comfort zone right into where the magic happens! pixiedust:
I hope you have a great time and the weather holds out for you! ::yes::
I'm sorry. I missed Saturday's question. I was busy doing yard work.
:rotfl:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I bet your yard looks lovely! :flower3:
Okay, back to work for me . . . did I mention that I have a hard time being productive in the afternoon? ;)
I just spend a bunch of time quoting and replying and *poof* it's gone :(
Somehow I was logged back out and whe I tried to log back in, everything disappeared. Bah!
I'll sum this up pretty quick until I have more time.
Thanks for all the help and advice on PF (Rose and Lisa). I'm going to keep trying to take care of it before going to the doctor. And, I'm looking up fat pad problems tonight!
Beachbody must keep a close eye on the Internet, because I cannot find any sample T25 videos. But, thanks for the suggestions. I am going to wait to see how my heel feels before I start anything like that!
Hello and Welcome to any new people! :woohoo:
Liz~how was the program? Did you learn anything worth sharing?
QOTD~I am more productive on Mondays and in the morning. I'm like Pamela and can get so much done in the first few hours of the day.
Hmmmm....that's all I can remember for now. I have to run and get DSs ready for bed then pack lunches for tomorrow.
Have a great night and I'll check back tomorrow (and hopefully not get *poofed*)!
Liz~how was the program? Did you learn anything worth sharing?
It was so great! I admit, I was a little skeptical at first. There are 275 women self-sorting into four levels of the training program, which runs for 8 weeks. It culminates in an optional 5K (I'm out of town that weekend and can't do the race) and a celebration dinner at the end (not missing that!).
So we signed in and sat down in the gym bleachers. Each week starts with a different speaker, and tonight's was a woman who owns a local running/gear store. She was very knowledgeable, and I may have met my new best running bra friend in one of the samples she showed tonight.
Then we self-sorted into groups, and I kind of wondered how well this part would work. We headed out to the track to do a timed mile, which is designed to give us each a baseline and also make sure we're choosing the appropriate group (reassuring!). It had been raining lightly, but when we got outside, there were lightning strikes, so - back inside. Now the boys' basketball team is practicing in the gym, so we get a corner and one bleacher section for our group. We ran the stairs. We jumped the stairs. We did some strength stuff, including something called Matrix 24 that was really hard and will make my butt hurt a *lot* tomorrow but that I think I might want to do every day. We were sweaty and worn out by the end of the night, and next week, as long as there's no lightning, we start the running.
So now I know to grab a hat if it looks a little threatening but also that we'll get a good workout even if we have to come back inside. The only problem now is that I have the post-workout high, which means I'll be up too late. :)
XO
Good Tuesday morning everyone.
I never got on last night. I went grocery shopping after school then made some granola for my breakfast and then dinner for last night. I think I am getting sick because I was asleep by 8:30.
Question of the day
If you had just one day in Disney World, what would you do?
Have a happy and healthy day.
Oh no!! Take care of yourself!
.
Well, assuming I had one day/one park tickets, then I would definitely stick with the Magic Kingdom..... an EARLY breakfast reservation for pre-opening hours at either Cinderella's Royal Table or Crystal Palace.... get food, get some character interaction, and be IN the park for rope drop!
FIRST UP.... the new Seven Dwarves Mine Train!!!
Then hit up some favorites before the lines get nutty (BTMRR, Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, BLYSRS), then hit ALL of the new Fantasyland areas for a bit, then some classics like Carousel of Progress and Small World, a quick service lunch (no time to waste in a restaurant) on the go (maybe a turkey leg and a Mickey bar??). Then a bit more riding (POTC, Mickey's Philharmonic, Laugh Floor, People Mover) and a full circuit on the WDW Railroad (for a break!).
Of course, I stop for EVERY POSSIBLE character interaction during all of this! I love the characters!
For dinner.... a reservation at Be Our Guest, of course! And the service would be wonderful and FAST and the meal would be terrific and we would be in an out in under an hour, filled and refreshed! Then we would secure a wonderful spot for the evening parade and WISHES (and enjoy a Dole Whip while watching). After the fireworks it would DEFINITELY be an EMH evening, so we are back to riding our favorites until they TOSS US OUT some time after midnight! What a great day!
Thanks for the FUN QOTD!
**************************
Morning all! I'm off to work at school and then WW tonight. I am working in preschool so no computer access today, so this will be it for me. I hope you all have a delightful day! Our weather is slowly improving, but still not warm enough to suit me. I had to make a wardrobe adjustment because 60° is NOT warm enough for me to wear capris and a gauzy top!
Off to make breakfasts and lunches for the day! TTY tomorrow.......P
Dang! That poof fairy is the most frustrating thing on the DIS! :badpc:
Hope that your heel is feeling better, Jill. :flower3:
Sounds like a great time last night, Liz, and you didn't even get to run yet! :cool2: Hope you had a good night's rest once the euphoria left! :flower3: That is a problem with evening workouts unfortunately.
Hope you are feeling better soon, Dona. :flower3:
If I had only one day in Disney World, I would spend that day in Epcot starting out in Future World in the morning and moving to World Showcase in the afternoon and evening -- maybe even a little Illuminations because it's been awhile since we've seen that.
But then I read Pamela's answer and forgot about the Mine Train so I might have to revise my answer to match hers. :lmao:
Happy Tuesday all! :goodvibes
If you had just one day in Disney World, what would you do?
fun but tough! I would spend the day at DHS, my favorite park. I'd start at Starring rolls bakery of course with grapefruit cake and coffee. I'd hit TSM and ToT and RnR, then later in the day hit them again b/c there are no lines today :teeth: I'd eat lunch at 50s bar along with a cocktail. During the heat of the day, I'd duck into the shows. I'd shop after lunch until the sun started to ease up, then hit the rides again. Then finish off the day with Fantasmic!
Liz -- your group sounds most excellent!!!
Lisa -- yes! vegas baby!! I'm glad the sun is shining brightly on that side of the country..it's peeping here and there in Ohio. I'm ready to lounge by the pool and soak it up :beach: anyhow...I leave on Saturday :cheer2:
