Jill, good luck on your 10k tomorrow! I know you will rock it!
Thanks! I don't mean to brag, but I did rock it lol. I finished in 59:09
I think your comment helped
Now go rock the Dumbo!
I took a page from your Pinterest lunch box idea, Jill, and got myself this cute little lunch box from Rubbermaid.

Ooohhh that's nice! I may have to get that, too!
That is one of my big goals for September is getting my food back under rigid control. I have the tools I need with WW, I just need to follow it faithfully.
I'm pretty sure I said the same thing to DH last night. I need to track my food (all food) daily. I do so well when I track. But, one day of not tracking and I slide down hill...or more like slide down Mount Everest!
And speaking of WW, this week's topic was Supermarket Strategies, and they had the best quote:
Say no at the store, and say no just once. Take it home and say no over and over until it is gone.
Since we don't have a coach this week I will post a QOTD for the week-end.
QOTD Saturday, August 24, 2013 and Sunday, August 25, 2013: What are your favorite quotes or sayings that help you get through this healthy living journey?
Thanks for the QOTD! I saw this today on Facebook and took a screenshot with my phone so I can look at it every morning:
"It's not about being better than someone else. It's about being better than you were yesterday.
I love this because I am always comparing myself to others and just need to focus on ME!
If we don't get anyone for September, I'm happy to keep doing the spreadsheet thing!!
You are so sweet! Thanks you for volunteering if no one else does!
Well, have had a 'bad' weekend!!! I was down 6lb on the beginning of the month, but after a trip to both the Earl of Sandwich and Five Guys yesterday, the current state of the scales is anyone's guess!!! Soooo enjoyed it though.
I was worried that either (or both) of these chains would not have travelled well across the Atlantic, but I'm pleased to say that both were pretty awesome (although expensive!!). Best part of the day was trying out the bottomless Coke Freestyle machine at Five Guys...tried raspberry coke zero, lime coke zero, orange coke zero and peach sprite zero. Liked the peach sprite the best, but the raspberry coke was a close second!!!
Back on the healthy eating plan today though (NOT!!) didn't get home from London until 1:30am, so slept until 9:30. Went out for late lunch to a local restaurant and had a full roast dinner with yorkshire pudding!!! Have now been food shopping and got all healthy sensible stuff in for the rest of the week, so hoping to finish at or very near target for the month.
Seems like lots of us are struggling at the moment, probably due to the vacation thing. Hopefully we can have a good couple of months before all of you Americans fall into the food Bermuda Triangle that is Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas!!!!
I'm glad you had a nice getaway and got to enjoy some yummy food. Five Guys is expensive here, too (or at least me and DH think it is). I've never tried a Coke Freestyle machine but I would love to try a few samples of the ones you had. They sound so yummy!
I love the reference to Thanksgiving through Christmas as the food Bermuda Triangle

I'm hoping I don't get lost in that triangle this year!

Hey everyone! I wanted to pop on real quick since I will have an early bedtime tonight

School starts tomorrow and I really am not ready. But, with so many changes where I teach, I am just easing into the first week.
I had a great time at the 10k I ran this morning. It was sponsored by Panera to raise money for a breast cancer foundation in the area. They donated $250,000!! About 8,000 people participated in the 10k or 2 mile. Lots of businesses had teams who raised money. Our entrance fees were all donated, too. The only negatives were that it started at 10 am and it was already very warm (and I got a headache standing around in the sun) and they served Panera bagels (and fruit). I am a sucker for Panera bagels. I ate one in the morning and one after the finish and tracked them both. They also had a kids race and fun family things all over. Next year (oh yes, I will run next year as well), I'm having my whole family go. I couldn't this year because DH had a soccer game so DSs went with my mom to church and lunch. Anyhow, I had a great time and am feeling pretty proud of my race.
Anyhow, now that I've rambled and had to take a timeout in the middle of typing because my dog was in the backyard going crazy, barking, and trying to attack a possum, I better get going. That darn possum has been in the backyard every night for a week and the dog goes bonkers. We have a doggy door and fenced in backyard, so she has all access

It's a small possum, too. Guess we better set a live trap and take it out to the lake or down to our river.
Have a great Monday and I will try to check in during my lunch break.
Jill
