Who has gotten their wisdom teeth out yet?

I have a consoltation on Tuesday where they will discuss everything with me and figure out the day where I get them out.

I know the basics but tell how it was for you :)

Mine haven't even started coming in yet.
They're visible on x-rays but yeah.
I'm probably gonna get them taken out because I had braces, and because my dad and my brother did/are not keepin theirs. But mine will probably come in later in the game, as most of my family, theirs didn't grow until they were like 20.
I'm lucky however, they're coming in normally. One of my brother's teeth is growing in horizontally, into the teeth instead of growing up out of the gum.

mine grew in straight, so i never had mine removed.

good luck, though. (:

Mine haven't even really started growing in yet. I'm not expecting them to really be in until my late 20's/early 30's, because that's the way it was with my mom.

All three of mine tried to grow in sideways, so I had to have them surgically removed. The procedure itself doesn't hurt, but the recovery does - unless you're one of those lucky people that feel fine the next day. I certainly wasn't one of those people.

That being said, I don't think you want to hear my experience. It freaks out everyone I tell it to. But, if you want to hear about an experience with the worst case scenarios, I'll be happy to share. Let's just say it was probably one of the absolute worst experiences of my life to date.

I had mine removed a couple years ago. Nothing hurt, I didn't spit out blood, and I was fine. The only bad thing was the medicine they gave me afterward. After I had anything to eat, the medicine made me throw up, which wasn't cool. But everything other than that was fine.

My top ones are coming in straight and pretty, but my bottom ones are misaligning the molars in front of them, so they need to come out. They're taking out my top two while they're at it because my mom had three of hers become impacted and they don't want to risk it with me.

I wonder if they can straighten the molar that has been shifting because of it while they're in there...huh. have to ask.

I'm going in in early August to have them pulled. I'm going under general anesthetic before the novocaine because the only place I mind needles is in my mouth, so they're going to sedate me to keep me from freaking out.

I was just talking to my brother about this yesterday..
I still haven't gotten my wisdom teeth.

I got mine taken out when I was 17. They grew in sideways.

You are numb when you wake up so make sure you don't bite your cheek or lip. ;)

You will be swollen and it will hurt for a few days. I also had some bruising until a week after the procedure. My friend had dry socket and she said it was terrible.

I had a lot of milkshakes and soft foods like mashed potatoes. Take your pain pills and use frozen peas and your ice pack and you'll be fine! Good luck!!!

I only have 2, and they are impacted, but I'm a procratinator and I'll wait until I have a problem 'til I get them out...even though it's worse to do that. Whatever.

I've had really good luck with my teeth (first cavity ever was just filled on wednesday) so I'll risk it. If some problem does pop up...oh well. I'll deal.
