I see some people post reviews saying their wireless controllers don't work as well. What is your experience with them? Sure seems like it would be much easier not to have to contend with all those wires. Do you need any special hookups for wireless or does everything come with them? I'd hate to go that way and then not have everything I need Christmas morning.

There are no wired controllers for the Wii games, it is wireless.

Now you use your old Gamecube controllers for the Gamecube games.

The Wii controllers work great. You just have to have the sensor placed correctly.

You need either the charger or lots of double A batteries.

The primary controller for the Wii is the Remote. It is wireless. There is also the Nunchuck that attaches to the Remote for use with many games. It connects to the Remote with a cord. The wireless Nunchuck doesn't have the cord and instead communicates wirelessly with the Remote.

In my opinion there's no need for the wireless Nunchuck. The cord between the Remote and the Nunchuck is long enough but not so long that it gets in the way. The reason most people get wireless accessories is so they aren't tethered to the console while they play. That isn't ever an issue with the Wii.

There are wireless sensors bars that you can buy and it does make things easier because you don't have worry about getting the wire tangled with other cords.

Thanks, silly me - I thought because you could get wireless Nunchucks there were also different Remotes. I/m glad I have a place to ask these questions.

Thanks,

Penny

I don't know, can you? I could see that. I haven't been shopping for accessories this year.

There are wireless nunchucks. My friend has a couple. They sort of do making certain games easier. But I don't think they are really needed. It depends on the type of game you are playing. I think a wireless nunchuck would make playing Madden '09 better.

Hmmm really? I might have to go get one and play Zelda again.:yay:

OP alot of games don't even use the nunchucks.

Yes!! In fact, there is a kit you can buy to make the original nunchucks wireless!! :thumbsup2

We got the kits at Game Stop for 9.99 each, and we LOVE them!!

It's hard to explain, but there's like a base that you slip the nunchuck into, plug it in, and then tuck the excess wires in. Then there's a little sensor that you plug into the end of your remote. The nunchuck base sincs with the sensor, and they play wirelessly just as they would with the wire! We love it for the games that require a lot of wide movements like Samba de Amigo! :thumbsup2

I found a good review with a picture!!

ETA: Note that in the review, the person complains about having to buy extra batteries for the wireless converters. They do take AAA batteries on top of the AA that your Wii remote already takes, but just do what we did. Invest in a battery charging station (they have ones that will charge all sizes), and some rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, and you'll eliminate that hassle.
He/she also mentions spending $20 for the kit. Like I said before, we found ours for $9.99 each, so $20 for both sets!
