Yes!! In fact, there is a kit you can buy to make the original nunchucks wireless!!
We got the kits at Game Stop for 9.99 each, and we LOVE them!!
It's hard to explain, but there's like a base that you slip the nunchuck into, plug it in, and then tuck the excess wires in. Then there's a little sensor that you plug into the end of your remote. The nunchuck base sincs with the sensor, and they play wirelessly just as they would with the wire! We love it for the games that require a lot of wide movements like Samba de Amigo!
I found a good review with a picture!!

ETA: Note that in the review, the person complains about having to buy extra batteries for the wireless converters. They do take
AAA batteries on top of the AA that your Wii remote already takes, but just do what we did. Invest in a battery charging station (they have ones that will charge all sizes), and some rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, and you'll eliminate that hassle.
He/she also mentions spending $20 for the kit. Like I said before, we found ours for $9.99 each, so $20 for both sets!
