Winter Snow Storm

Buffalo here: hasnt hit yet, waiting for later tonight but it sure has been cold the last 2 days....

I'm just outside of Columbus Ohio and I woke up to hear the phone ring telling me that the school district I work for was cancelled. Yay! Nothing like getting a phone call at 5:40am! DD's school also cancelled all because of ice! I can deal with snow but I hate ice!! My DH's truck is covered in a 1/4 inch of ice. And the reports are saying we will get maybe a 1/2 inch more by tomorrow. UGH!!! We only have one more snow day to use and then we have to start making up days!! I want Spring to be here!!

This is some crazy winter... We actually have a 70% chance of snow Thursday night-Friday morning. SNOW. Here!! And not just a few flakes, but 1-3" accumulation. I live less than 30 minutes from Galveston -- snow is not something we're used to dealing with, lol. Not looking forward to the drive to work Friday morning!! I'm hoping it's not ice we'll have to deal with.

This is a novelty for us -- I really feel for all of y'all dealing with this sort of thing on a regular basis and snow measured in feet not inches. Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

Hey y'all can send some of that snow my way! I live in Mississippi and we hardly ever see any :sad2:

Just in from NE PA- We've been changed from winter storm warning to ice warning till tomorrow afternoon. 3/4" of ice. :eek:I have one bathtub full of water, the coal stove is lit, and there is propane for the grill to cook, if we lose power. As for the people from VA who want the snow, by all means, come help yourself. We have lots to share!

SE Michigan - we are supposed to get 10-20 inches :scared1: we haven't had a storm like this in years.
Sadly my university NEVER closes and I am going to have to trudge through massive amounts of snow and ice and bitter cold to my classes :sad1:

We've gotten about 9 inches so far with more to come. Kids out of school today and just received e-mail that it's cancelled tomorrow already. The local mall here closed early today, about noon...they never do that. It's hard to see the house across the street (doesn't help that it's white!). How many days until summer?

Kansas City area here. I just got in from the first round of shoveling. WOW!!!!! It's deep and the wind is a killer.
School was cancelled last night for today and it's already been called off for tomorrow. There is just no end in sight. Visibility is about 10 feet. My poor mailman hubby.

I am in the StL area and we have had all ice to this point. It started last night around 5ish and has rained ice all day. It is enough we have been watching cars slide back down our street and really it is not that big of a hill! They say we will get snow tonight on top of the ice. That should make it more lively and fun I guess! ;)

My husband just read that for only the third time in school history, Michigan State declared tomorrow a snow day. Maybe there's hope for you, too!

I'm in SW Michigan. The storm is about 1 hour away according to the radio, and they're estimating a conservative 15" by tomorrow noon. It's hilarious to see how giddy all the weather people arepopcorn::

DH is an ER nurse, and works about 40 minutes from home. Worried about him making it home tonight :guilty: We homeschool, so no snowday for us tomorrow, we may actually do a little extra since DS turns 7 on thursday.

We're KC also, I think we posted at the same time. Hope you DH gets home safe. The mailtruck went by just a bit ago and you couldn't tell where the snow ended and the bottom of the truck started. I just heard that KCI has been closed too.

Sitting here smack dab between Milwaukee and Chicago , and as long as we have electrical power, its all good:wizard:

Not too bad here in Buffalo for once :thumbsup2 I'm closer to Niagara Falls and we will probably get just shy of a foot, which is nothing compared to what we're used to!

Reside in Oak Forest, IL (south suburb of Chicago). Really nasty here! Just heard on the news that the Chicago Public Schools are closed tomorrow. Hubby was a CPS teacher for 35 years and can recall only 3 days of school closings all the while he taught. Yep, it's really bad here!
Going to WDW on Sunday. Hopefully, by then, the city will have a handle on this storm.

NE Indiana checking in.... Just started snowing awhile ago. Blizzard warning here. Sadly, I am thankful for that. It beats the ice storm/power outages that they are getting 80 miles south of here.

I have had enough of it. seriously I was shoveling the walkway and the only option to get rid of the snow is to toss it over the already 4 foot snowbanks. It is so bad driving anywhere you can never see out of driveways or parking lots too many mountains of snow.
My kids have had so much school missed I forget what it is like to bring them! each week is at least been 2 snow days. Last week they got out early Wed, no school Thursday, and a 2 hour late start Friday. Today no school as well I am sure for tom seeing we will get the bigger storm then that will bring at least a foot more. Today we got about 6 inches probally more since I was out.
It is so crazy even the kids do not want to go out in the snow, and they are hoping for school tomorrow! My littlest is 4 and he can not even play outside I may lose him
I am in CT close to the MA line

i live by ohare airport which has been closed cancelling all flights
‎47 Days until Spring

I love snow but luckily we're dodging this storm. We leave for Disney in 2 days!! I'm glad not to have to drive through the mess.

My thoughts are with everyone who is getting dumped on!
