I know enough about the movie and have seen clipsThank you for your honesty...so the dialogue in her routine you probably found annoying
The only Olympics I missed after the coverage was the summer 1992 Barcelona and John tesh giving the back stories...I really enjoyed that coverage... unfortunately... IWhat a day for female athletes! I'm really going to miss the Olympics!
You won’t miss the TAPE DELAY AND ONLY TAPE DELAY practice of NBC and CBS’ respective coverage. Social media has changed the Games. Yes, NBC still has tape delayed prime time games but ALL EVENTS ARE NOW LIVE as opposed to back in the day when live coverage was severely limited. The only Olympics I missed was the summer 1992 Barcelona and John tesh giving the back stories...I really enjoyed coverage... unfortunately... and heard that only 10% of the viewing audience enjoyed that feature and greatly dismissed the concept in further televising ..of course I had the 1988 all day as I didn't have to work but no recollection.....1996 I was teaching summer school and my Olympics curriculum made the

I got a Canadian satellite TV system just before the 2000 Olympics. It was heaven. Not only did CBC air events live (yes, at all hours of the night in North America), but the satellite TV company had multiple other channels going simultaneously. I was able to watch Cathy Freeman win the 400m at the same moment that friends of mine and tens of thousands of other wildly cheering Aussies in the stadium saw it happen. You won’t miss the TAPE DELAY AND ONLY TAPE DELAY practice of NBC and CBS’ respective coverage.
So after watching the figure skating... which I normally only do at the Olympics, I noticed a trend this year that I had not noticed before... touching the ice during and after their routines
folks reaching down in their routines , putting their hands down onto the ice.... spinning on knees....and then after it ends, flopping down at the end. Is this new or am I just noticing it for the first time? A couple of times I thought folks might be falling but then realized it was part of the routine when they kept doing it.
Oh good it is not just in my head, glad you noticed it also.Yes, I really noticed all of that, too. I used to think they weren't allowed to touch the ice like that.
I noticed this too. So much so that I was wondering if it was a required element LOL. One routine, I thought she fell but then she jumped up and I guess it was part of the routine? Then the very next skater did the same thing. I thought it looked sloppy as well since figure skating is all about grace and elegance.Oh good it is not just in my head, glad you noticed it also.
Some of it in the routines I like, not complaining there.... I admit I dont like the flopping down on the ice after finishing, seems sloppy finish to a beautiful routine..... but I am a ballet dance mom so I def. have a performance behavior bias

I love Johnny and Tara, I don't think they are catty at all. And when they are not doing the commentary, they are entertaining as heck.Speaking of ice skating, what do we think of Johnny and Tara commentating? I had heard they could be annoying and talkative/catty towards the skaters. I have found them to be very professional and respectful. Admittedly, I have not heard them commentating before so this is my first impression of them.
I'm right there with you. I love listening to their commentary and I think they are great ambassadors for the sport.I love Johnny and Tara, I don't think they are catty at all. And when they are not doing the commentary, they are entertaining as heck.
They've improved and matured over the years. When they first started, yeah, they could be catty. I remember Terry Gannon getting sort of exasperated and trying to rein them in a bit. And they talked all the way through the programs so you couldn't hear the music or just enjoy it. But they've gotten better at shutting up and only talking about important points.I love Johnny and Tara, I don't think they are catty at all. Very quiet. I noticed it right away and the skater routine hasn't changed since we were watching all year.. very chatty at other events... talking over the music... but perhaps to educate us or inspire young folks...whereas if you are watching the Olympics you probably have a handle on the sport and have seen the skater perform long before the OlympicsSpeaking of ice skating, what do we think of Johnny and Tara commentating?
