Called today for Jan. 15-24 for 2 adults, 1 jr., and 2 kids-

for All Stars (2rooms) $3113.24

for POR $3007.31

We have ressies at POR for those nights @ $1500 (haven't gotten AAA membership- yet). Plus HP will take my total to around $2600. I can't really see spending $400 more for a couple more days at the world, not worth it for us.

Originally reserved Dream Maker silver plan using Disney Club Card at Beach Club/Water View for 12/04/03-12/11/03. Cost $ 3966.38.

DU received quote update with Winter Dream Marker Silver Plan with Disney Club Card at cost of $ 3381.74. Definately a savings.:bounce:

Had been quoted $3450 for Poly concierege lagoon view Jan 24-31 room only for 4 adults. Tickets would have been another $1350 (UPH's for 2 adults & 6-day PHP for the other 2) for a total of $4800. Check the Winter Dream Maker price and was quoted $4100. any savings is better than none!!

Katrina1122 - I asked about applying the AAA discount to my package and first she said I would have to book it through AAA. Then she said that I could not use 2 discounts, meaning I guess AAA and the Winter dreammaker. But it might be worth a call to AAA to see what they price the package at.

6 nights CT Club already booked and then changed to this package for Dec 6-12th - saved us about $400. Not much.
Not what I had hoped for - but at least something for now. Without finding discounts, I will have to change my habits a little from now on. BUMMER

I was looking for something a little better - I must admit it. I was jealous when the FTP came out.

Still hoping but glad I at least saved something over full price plus we can now go play miniture golf if we choose that option.

I was really happy last night that something was breaking, but now reality is setting in.

I called this morning and got ASMo, Feb. 7-13 for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 under 3 for 1,320.60 tax and all. I thought that was pretty good. Not as good as staying there for $49 a night, but I'll take it. And CM said I would also get a pin and lanyard set and a choice of a wish, ie mini golf, etc. Does this sound right?

For anyone booking a solo trip with the Winter DreamMaker Package: I called just to check the price @ the Contemporary, Tower Room. For a seven night package (12/7 - 12/14) for one adult, the price was $2180. I already have a ressie for the same dates with the AAA discount and the total price is $2,223.

So now my dilemma is which package should I keep? I booked the Winter DreamMaker through the Disney Club and she told me that I could cancel up to five days prior to arrival and still receive a refund of my prepayment. With DC, the remainder of the package has to be paid 21 days before arrival.

My AAA rate does not include passes however I have an annual pass. I am only saving $43 off the AAA rate. The postive with AAA is that I do not have to pay before arrival.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Any advice???????

Some of these so called "package deals" are making me sick. Last year using room only codes from 8/25-9/1 for CBR King room, we paid less than 800.00 for the room only (I think around $769.00 total), we got PHP's from Connections for another 500.00 and airfare was $264.00 (total for just me and DH)....another 225.00 for rental car, plus a two day pass for each of us for Sea World (special buy a day get a free day) $100.00. We made our own special package for under $1900.00 (plus still have some days left on the PHP's to use next year)! Disney is expecting people to pay these package rates and then they have to add their airfare and car rental on top of that. That is a huge amount of money. I hope that this package is just another of their regular packages and that the discount codes will be back again and soon for those of you with upcoming trips....but people like me who aren't going back til next summer will have to be watching these boards continuously all year to see what will be happening for us. Oh well, we might as well settle in for the winter....

Crazy4wdw--

We have Tower rooms booked room only for the same exact dates you do Dec. 7-14. So I called this morning to see if this would save us any money and the first thing the CM told me was that the package was'nt available for the Tower rooms but it was for the wing rooms and 12th floor Tower concierge.

How did you get a rate for the regular Tower rooms and what time did you call today? I called around about the time they opened this morning.

Anyway after she told me about the 12th floor being available I asked her to give me a quote out of curiosity. To my surprise even though it was'nt less $$ than our Tower room only ressie to get the 12th floor it will only cost our family of 3 $116 more for all 7 nights than what we got the Tower room with a AAA rate. We've been spoiled with this floor and staying there before and really like the convience of having the breakfast right outside our door every morning but with the regular rates I was'nt willing to pay almost $400 more for this feature.

What does everyone think? Is'nt this a pretty good price for getting an upgrade? After all with no other codes out and not looking like there will be we got the upgrade for only $116 over the price of a regular Tower room with AAA. My parents will be going and there room for the 2 of them was only around $80 more for the upgrade.

BTW our room 2 Adults and 1 child(DD6) is $3200.15 and my parents room 2 Adults is 2908.32.

Does anyone know the breakdown of what they are charging for Adults and Children. Crazy4wdw--is your room for just yourself--1 Adult?

I may give them a call and double check on the regular Tower rooms again. Thanks:D

Princess Crazy: I did not call until about 9:30 PM last night (8/19). I wonder if I was able to reserve the Tower becasue I booked the package through the Disney Club. I had no problems at all with booking the ressie. As soon as the CM pulled up availability for the Contemporary, she said she had rooms available in all three catagories: standard, garden, & tower.

Maybe you should give them another call and double check on this. I am still not sure which ressie I am going to keep: AAA or Disney Club.

I was quoted for 10 nights in February for 1 adult 1 junior and 1 child at The Carribean Beach for $2119.35. That sounds pretty good to me. I have emailed my TA back to get a quote on Poly also if it is not much more we would love to stay at the Poly. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I just changed my gardenview room at the Poly to lagoonview!!!

For 2 adults and 2 kids (9,5) for 5 nights in December for $2304.
I requested Tahiti because of Tikiman's recommendation on his site.

:( Hulabird I'm with you, I don't think these prices are that great. I simply can't afford these kind of vacations every year or even every other year!! I am happy staying at the moderate level using a good "room only" code. But after reading on Mary Warning's site that she doesn't feel Disney will be releasing these types of codes any more I am really bummed! I was trying to put together a package for a neighbor and I assured her that if we wait we could put together a good package. I don't know if this Dream Maker is the best that will come along for them. Maybe we should look into just getting a good rate at the Swan/Dolphin. At least it still feels like Disney.

Just had to voice my dissappointment!

Cmbar-

I am not sure sure that there won't be room only or AP discounts in the future, I got an email from WDW today and it said that normally they do give room discounts (see my other post under Letter from WDW CM...) for AP pass holders. Maybe this time they are just real late or at this time they can't give any due to the FTP, but the letter made me feel that AP rates and discount codes will be back.

I am going to book Swan and pay the 1 night deposit just in case that isn't true, but I feel that we will see some discounts for room only people soon.
