Hello everyone! When we last went on Winnie the Pooh in Fantasyland, the ride stopped in the Heffalums and Hoozles (sp?) room. They turned the lights up, and the walls kept spinning, The cart was stationary. As we munched on our MNSSHP candy, we noticed that the rude was absolutely filthy! Have they done anything about this? It looked like it hadn't been clean in months!

It might have been in part because of the MNSSHP that night.

Its pretty much like that any time I've been on a ride and the lights are turned on, peter pan was the worst I've ever seen. It kinda takes the magic out of the ride. I should just not look around when that happens.

What do you mean? Why would a MNSSHP have anything to do with a good centimeter thick pile of dust?

I know what you mean. We tried not to look, but we were stuck for at least ten minutes. We just felt that it was unclean. Take a mop to it for goodness sakes, Disney! I am more dissapointed than upset really.

I thought you meant filthy as in tons of wrappers and water bottles not actual dust. And because I thought that I figured it was probably because people eat candy on the ride and throw the wrappers on the ground.

I've been to disney more times than I count on 3 hands, but I can never remember being stopped on a ride and having the lights turned on. Part of me feels that it would ruin some of the "magic" but part of me thinks it would actually be pretty neat! [ minus gross dust ]

Yes. We had relatives who were stuck on Space Mountain. They turned the lights on, and they swear that the 'meteors' are projected images of chocolate chip cookies!

What was dissapointing was after Tigger told us that the ride had stopped (duh!) some random guy came on and told us. It would have been a lot cooler without the filth.

The meteors on Space Mountain ARE pictures of chocolate chip cookies!

I've been to WDW probably about 30-40 times (I used to live in Orlando) and although I've been on rides that stopped momentarily, I've never been on one when the lights turned on or had to evacuate. I think it would actually be pretty cool - sort of a "behind the scenes" peek.

I think that would be neat too! YouTube has plenty of vids thouugh if you are really interested. :)

It doesn't surprise me one bit. You are talking about inside the rooms rather than the cart, right? Why would htey need to clean often when it's in the dark anyways. And no one is moving about in the rooms except in a cart. (which I'm sure is a germ fest in iteself)

What would you type in to search on Youtube to see these "behind the scenes" ride clips?

Probably. We were on the Peoplemover (excuse me...TTA) 2 yrs ago and Space had gone down. The lights were on. We got a bunch of neat photos of it.

As far as the dirt goes - with daily operation, and rehabs scheduled for only one a year, if that - it's no wonder that the inside of the attractions get dusty. Trash would be another story. Going over every attraction each night isn't operationally feasible - but a rotating schedule week of different ones probably is. Really only The Haunted Mansion should be dusty IMO.

space mountain lights

Disneyland - Pirates of the Caribbean Evacuation

Of course then YouTube will direct you to similar videos on the right-hand side. Some are very interesting.
