I'm sad. It's about 10:30 p.m. on the 4th of July and I'm sitting at home inside. We had crazy weather today so it was windy and raining. My town also banned fireworks this year. The kids are with the neighborhood kids in our back yard watching the lucky people just over the county line who get fireworks. Our town does a little pathetic fireworks show, but it's not worth going to. I grew up in a small town that had a Norman Rockwell sort of celebration. So to make myself feel better, I'm going to relive some of my trip............................................................Ok, and I said if Jordan updated I would to.
After our dinner and Hunters rousing rendition of I'm a little teapot, we didn't have plans untill Fantasmic. We hadn't seen it before, well except for a bad experience at disneyland 3 years before. Yes we were scarred for life. But since I had heard how much better it was at DW we decided to give it a try.
The voyage of the little mermaid was another thing that we hadn't done. For some reason I thought it was a sort of ride. Where have I been. So, after getting a little lost we made our way to the line, just in
time for the last showing. We were about to line up when Ethan said he had to go poo.........words we don't like to hear. He tends to hibernate in there and it always takes at least 10 minutes. Oh darn! I can't take him so D.jay get the honor!
The rest of us waited by the little mermaid and had some fun.....
I think this fish was hungry.......
After what seemed like forever our little pooper came back and we joined in the crowd for Little Mermaid.
We were so squished in there! We were packed like human sardines. Evan had a close encounter of the peep kind..................
This was an atraction like B&theB..........none of the kids realy wanted to see it. Again, they were mesmerized and so glad they did. When will they learn that I am always right? Ok, I know, never. We all realy loved this show. I can't believe I had missed out on it before.
As we exited , D.Jay decided it was time for his potty break...........one would think he could have done that while he spent an eternity with Ethan.........The rest of us walked around the gift shops by the Disney animation place.
I snapped this pic for my little sister who is a big Capt Jack fan.
We were about to leave to meet back up with D.Jay when I saw it. It was love at first sight! Unfortunatley we were in a hury and needed to get to fantasmic..........So I said goodbye to the Belle figurine I had fallen in love with and stoicly made my way out of the store.
I told D.jay about it at least 10 times hoping he'd catch the hint and insist that we race back there to buy it.............I guess I wasn't very good with my hints. He just said "that's nice".
When we got to the entrance for Fantasmic there wasn't a line but there was a steady stream of people going up the hill. This hill was a lot longer than I thought it would be. We were about 45 minutes before the show......as we got to the top of the hill and looked down I couldn't believe my eyes! It was completley packed!!! Seriously, where did all those people come from! I don't think there were that many in the park all day at one time. We ended up getting a second row seat bottom left about 2 sections in.
Luckily the kids were tired enough that they didn't complain about the wait.. I think we were all just happy to sit down......that lasted for about 2 minutes untill one of the most obnoxious teenagers sat down right behind us. My kids got an education of every swear word known to man. I had to fight the whole time not to turn around and ask her to shut her mouth. I was so irritated I knew it wouldn't come out nice, so I tried to distract my kids.
I understand a few swear words, I've been know to use a few, but when it's a steady stream for 45 minutes.......even Evan was about to ask her to shut up.
I guess on the up side, I was so anoyed with the girl behind me to really mind all the little bugs that were flying around. They didn't go un-noticed by miss potty mouth however...........she had a few words for them too.
My prayers were answered and when the show started she managed to keep the four letter words to a minimum. Can you tell I was a little ticked off?
The show was incredible. We loved it! It was a whole different experience from DL. When it was over, I feared that we'd never make it out before morning. We ended up holding hands in 2 groups and making a run for it. I think it took about 30 minutes just to get to the top of the bleachers!
Up next.........these things better be made of pixie dust & gold!
