Wine Sales at Publix?

We arrive early on Thurs., Oct 11, hopefully we'll be at Publix around 9:30 am. Is there some magic time that wine sales start? I vaguely remember being shut out there one year but I can't swear to it. If this is the case I'll just pack a bottle in our checked bag, but I'd rather not because that seems to guarantee a luggage opening by the Gestapo.

Magic time for wine sales is the minute they open the doors to Publix in the morning.

Retail alcohol laws in Florida vary by county and even by city. In the absence of local laws, the statewide "default" is that grocery stores are allowed to sell wine and beer from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Some places, such as Miami, allow alcohol to be sold around the clock. Other places, have Sunday restrictions, typically making stores wait until noon on Sundays.

You should have no problem at an Orlando-area Publix around 9:30 a.m. on any day other than possibly Sunday.
