I'm booked on a 7-night cruise on the Wonder next year, traveling solo. Can I purchase the 3-bottle package or would I have to purchase the 7 because it's a 7-night cruise?

You can purchase whichever package works for you.

:thumbsup2 I really wish they would advertise the packages as "3 bottle", "7 bottle", etc. packages rather than as a number of nights. I think it confuses a lot of people.

It does say "bottle" but since the number of bottles matches the number of nights that most of the cruises are (not counting TA, PC, etc.), that's where the confusion comes in - at least that's where it did for me.

Thanks to you and @PrincessShmoo for the quick answer!

I'm glad they finally changed it then. It used to read "night" instead of "bottle".

One more... Can you get multiples of the same bottle? Like, if I got a 4-bottle package but only like 3 of the wines, could I get a second bottle of one of those 3?

Well, I've never done it, but I don't see why not.

Thanks. I was thinking on it more and thinking I might do the 4-bottle package since I'm planning to do a Palo brunch as well, and I really like one the Merlots that is offered.

I've only ever order 1 particular wine for the wine package as it's my favorite: Moscato from Castello del Poggio. AWESOME!

Must all of it be consumed on board? For instance, if you ordered the 4 bottle and only drank 3 can you take the remaining one?

That finally answers my question. I never bought one before, partially because I couldn't figure out exactly what it was. And when I asked, I got non-responsive answers. For example, when I asked "So, is it just one bottle per night?" and the answer was "No, you can have as much as you want on any night." Me: "So, it's unlimited wine?" Answer: "You can have as much as you like each night." I couldn't figure out what it actually was, as I didn't believe that it was an "all you can drink for 7 nights" package. Their answers were trying to tell me that I was not limited to 1 bottle on any particular night (that is, I could have 2 bottles on one night, then skip the next night), but I couldn't get them to actually state that the 7-night package was limited to 7 bottles total. I'm still not sure if there was a communications breakdown, or if I was getting Disney "sunshine" answers that were carefully crafted to avoid any sense of the negative. Now I know for sure.

I believe that you are only limited by the number of bottles purchased, not by the type. So if you buy a 4 bottle package, you can get 4 of the same wine, different ones etc. Just has to total up to 4 in the end. Pretty sure we did this on at least one of our trips when we bought the package

I have to say that on our last cruise out of Galveston, the concierge lounge was full of guests who carried wines on board. It is much more frugal and a better selection if you bring your own. There was a delay for wines ordered for room delivery at embarkation, until we had been away from port roughly 90 minutes.

Pretty sure that is a thing for out of Texas cruises because they are stricter with their taxes and if it was delivered before you'd have an additional tax charge.

That said, carrying on your own wine works great if you are comfortable flying with it and the removing it or have a way to get to a wine shop. Not all of us do. And not all of us need to have it in our cabins - at dinner is fine.

I personally think DCL needs a better onboard wine selection (for their wine packages). I'm a wine snob though :smooth: I know they carry good wine onboard, I just wish you could purchase them in packages.

I have been wondering about wine packages. We will be traveling with my parents, who enjoy a glass or two of wine at dinner, as do we. So while we have the ability to bring wine on board with us, and I wouldn't put it past my parents to fly with it or we'd all drive to pick some up together for each cabin, paying the corkage fee doesn't seem worth it to me. I was thinking we'd buy a wine package and my parents might or we'd buy one for the group. we'd use that for dinners and the wine or beer we bring onboard for consumption in our cabin.
