Wine and Dine?

So, I'm looking at the different Dining packages, and see this Wine and Dine feature. I read through write up it provides, and I'm no further ahead than I was before. Anyone care to help some?

What does it consist of?

Is it at your hotel only?

Is it worth it?

No one has added this to their dining plan? Maybe I'm better off bringing my own wine then?

It's an add-on to dining plans with a table service component. About $40 a night gets you one wine credit per night. You choose the wines from the regular menu, but there's a price limit - wines over a certain price are not available. Some of the more expensive wines are available for two credits per bottle, but not every wine on all wine lists at WDW restaurants is available for the package.

However, most, if not all, WDW restaurants with a wine list have some bottles available for purchase with your wine credits. I don't think you have to drink the whole bottle. You can take it with you.

I haven't used it. I do not consider it a deal, especially since I have Tables in Wonderland for 20% off all my wine purchases in participating restaurants.

you can do a search for wine and dine on the dis - incredibly I always tend to post on the threads!!

No one I know of has purchased it as TDC Nala says there are better (seemingly) deals to be had -

DH and I noted that we dont drink a bottle of wine for every meal - so why would we on vacation? We do tend to get a glass of wine - and we also noticed that the TS places tend to be very savvy with their pours - 4 glasses = 1 bottle - and the price per glass reflects that % - so dh feels comfortable getting a fish dish, and i stick with beef!!

We also purchase a bottle of Rosa Regale (champagne from Italy) in EPCOT itts $10 per glass - but only $19 for a whole bottle - and here at home they sell it for $19 - so for us, that's the bargain!! (rosa regale tastes semi sweet, with a hint of berries!! not a strong bubble, nor yeasty smell!!)
