Just Wondering if there is anyone out there getting ready to run the Wine and Dine Half! I am so excited I can't stand it. My training schedule has really picked up and will peak here in the next 2 weeks then it is time to taper. I am just wondering how the other runners are doing?!?

My sister and I are signed up for the 5K and the half. I don't get to taper though, because I'm also training for Dopey in January!

I love the Disney marathon weekend but the Army says I can't go anywhere this year during January. Good luck to you on the Dopey Challenge!! I was barely able to finish the actual Marathon!! Are you staying at Disney?

Fortunately my workplace is more flexible than the army--most of the time. :) For both races we're at Boardwalk. Yay for DVC.

I don't have much speed, but I'm pretty good with stamina. At least that's what I'm telling myself. Ask me again on Jan 13. :)

I did the last three W&D half marathons and I was registered for this years but I decided to postpone my registration until next year to conserve my vacation days. Have a great time.

What is your favorite part of the Wine and Dine? I have done the Marathon weekend twice but never the Wine and Dine...

They are several things I like about W&D Half Marathon but I would have to say my favorite is that the race is in the evening and not early in the morning. I also enjoy the festivities in Epcot after the race and that your race entry includes a wrist band to purchase food/drink after the race.

My wife and I planned our first WDW adventure around this run and are super excited for it. I know the race coincides with the end of the international food fest, and we have access to a lot of it, but is there a meal or anything afterwards given? Or is it all for purchase only? Just wondering what we'd need to bring.

Once you cross the finish line in addition to the normal water and Powerade drinks offered you are also offered one free beer. You are also given a box meal which includes a small bag of trail mix, hummus, crackers and banana. However before the race when pick up your race package at the expo included in your package and part of your race entry is a $10 gift card which can be used anywhere at Disney but I usually bring this with me to use after the race for a better meal instead of the typical box meal. I also bring a credit card with me to purchase a few more drinks. I would also suggest you include a light jacket in your checked bag before the race (depending on the weather) so you have it when the race is over.

I see it listed as open until 4am for people attending the after party. Is that just international food fest kiosks or are the attractions available as well? Wondering if I could get in test track and soaring late night as opposed to the hour long lines in the day time.

It's a little of both so not all the food kiosks and attractions are available.
