Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2022 (Nov. 3-6, 2022)

Hey y'all! After a hectic August, I'm finally able to focus some energy on planning for Wine & Dine. It's going to be a mother/daughter trip and we're not going to any parks other than for the after party on Sunday... So here's my question: what are your plans for race weekend? Looking for some inspiration on how to spend our time together 😊.

Here's our tentative plan right now:
Friday - expo and early dinner
Saturday - 10K race, late breakfast/brunch, resort exploration
Sunday - half marathon, pool/nap time, after party
Monday - no idea 🤷‍♀️ I was hoping we could go to the Christmas party but that isn't until Tuesday. My second idea was cirque because I think my mom would really enjoy that but they apparently don't have shows on Mondays.
Tuesday - depart

Wine & Dine:
Thu: expo & springs (unless pirate pass becomes available and my BIL can purchase one then we may book park passes for Epcot and skyliner over for dinner)
Fri: 5k DAK (BIL leaving to go home after race) late lunch/early dinner tentatively at yak and yeti
Sat: 10k Magic IF FANTASMIC IS BACK hop to studios for 630 Oga’s than show
Sun: Epcot until after party mix in arrive than drive home

Springtime surprise I’m blocked out so Friday after the 5K I’ll most likely bus to whatever park my friend has reserved than transport to a different resort than my own for lunch/strolling than possibly do a medal shoot at the photopass studio at springs depending on cost

Saturday same thing after the 10k (if there is a DIS meet work around trying to attend it)

Studios Sunday after 10 miler
Magic Monday until family gets me to go home

Wednesday—Arrival day, MK after I unpack
Thursday—expo, then Epcot
Friday—5K, then HS, with lunch at Mama Melrose
Saturday—10K, then AK. Dis MeetUp, if we have one
Sunday—Half, the, lunch at Beaches & Cream, then Epcot and after party
Monday—MK
Tuesday—HS, with lunch at Sci-Fi; Christmas party at MK
Wednesday—Departure day—Epcot after checkout because my flight is early evening

I have an AP, so this is just what I’m starting with—I’ll hop all over the place for medal pics

After party question: The calendar shows Epcot closing at 9pm on 11/6. Does that mean the "party" runs from 9pm-1am? Like we can't get on GOTG with no ILL or VQ until after 9pm? (and I assume you need a separate park ticket to try to book ILL/VQ before 9pm?) And are characters only out after 9pm? (And the signature drink?? :P)
Last year the drink was offered before EPCOT closed and sold out quickly

Our 60 day booking window opened a few days ago so I had fun making plans. We are staying at French Quarter for the 1st time and dining at all new to us restaurants. I couldn't justify park tickets since we've been so much over the last 5 years and not enough has changed. So instead we are doing a tour at Fort Wilderness that doesnt require park tickets. AKL (at least at one time) also had a few tours if you are looking for something outside the parks to do.

Our plans are:

Thurs: arrive, expo, dinner at French Quarter lounge.
Friday: Segway tour at Fort Wilderness. Brunch at Trails End. Disney Springs shopping. Dinner at Wine Bar George.
Saturday: 10k. Brunch at Olivia's. Nap/pool. Dinner at Boatwrights.
Sunday: Half. Lunch at resort QS. Nap. Dinner at Coral Reef. After party until they kick us out!!!
Monday: Pack and breakfast at resort QS. Flight home.

Can't wait!!!

Here are our plans:

Wednesday: Arrive, Disney Springs

Saturday: 10K, MK
Sunday: Half, relax at resort, Epcot for party
Monday: Fly home

This is my first ever solo trip, so of course I arranged to not be by myself for a lot of the time 🤪

Thurs: go as quickly as I can to the Expo from the airport. Early dinner at Paddlefish
Friday: Animal Kingdom. Day drinking at Nomad.
Saturday: 10k. Hollywood Studios. Day drinking at Oga's. Hurricane Hanna's DIS meet-up @1lilspark @Naomeri? Early dinner at B&C
Sunday: Half. Brunch at Homecomin'. Nap. EPCOT as soon as I can get in.
Monday: Magic Kingdom. Keys to the Kingdom tour. Plenty of in-park pictures with my medals. Dinner at Tony's
Tuesday: Flight home.

Probably won’t attempt a potential meet this weekend (idk if I can convince my sister) but will definitely post my flat me’s so if you see me in the staging areas say hi (springtime surprise will be a different story)

We ARE hitting parks so our itinerary probably won't inspire you too much. We're making up for lost time and busy schedules!! And it is my kids (teenagers, but still kids to me) first runDisney event!!
Arriving later on Thursday so just checking in.
Friday: Expo and AK since it closes earliest.
Saturday: 10k, ice the legs, go to Epcot to show off medals and eat too much and see Boyz 2 Men
Sunday: full day at MK
Monday: full day at HS and getting my 17 yo a lightsaber at Savi's for her bday
Tuesday: leaving today but not till later so planning to go to Epcot and eat more before we have to leave.
Despite lots of park time, we do plan to take a relaxed approach to it. Might not even get Genie and just accept we'll do less rides this trip.

I’m in

I tried during springtime surprise but I got there just as the storm started/pool area closed so sat in the beach club lobby for a bit till I could sprint to a bus

For the past few years, the usual meetup time and place has been Saturday, Hurricane Hannah's, 2:00-4:00. Does that sound good to everyone?? It is a great way to connect with these people that you know online, but haven't officially met.

My husband is a power lifter and his world meet got scheduled long after I had registered for W&D. Trying to make both weekends work with his schedule, my schedule and out of state friends flying in has not been fun. Thankfully Worlds is in Orlando this year and his group ended up being scheduled on Thursday 👍

Friday - watch powerlifting, expo, watch more powerlifting
Sat - 10K, watch even more powerlifting or escape to the pool, Dis meetup if we have one, check into my hotel
Sun - half, pool & nap, after party at Epcot
Mon - sleep in then drive to my house

Our scatter-brained plans, with multiple resort changes because we decided to add a day at the front end, and then discovered later that school is closed the 8th in addition to the 7th:

Thursday: Land MCO 7:30ish, check in to Swan
Friday: Check out of Swan, MK, Dinner at Whispering Canyon, Check in to Beach Club
Saturday: Morning at AK since Everest was closed for our previous trip, lunch at Sanaa, Expo (late I know, but not really interested in merch), pool time at resort, dinner at Biergarten.
Sunday: Half, breakfast at Cape May, EPCOT for F&W and after party
Monday: Check out of Beach Club, HS, Dinner at Sci-Fi, drinks at Oga's, check-in to AKL.
Tuesday: Hang around AKL, check out, lunch at Polite Pig, fly home.
