Wine and Dine 2015

Well I missed a lot being away from the DisBoards for a day! Fortunately DH and I registered for the half early with DVC but then later we decided to do the 5k too and by then it was of course sold out. So yesterday I was refreshing that Active link starting at 11:50am to get us in for the 5k. I was able to register both of us by 11:59 so we are some of the lucky ones. It really is a bummer that not everyone got in though. I'm not sure how many more Disney races we'll be doing with how crazy registration has been getting!

I would keep in touch with Travel Agents and Charities if I were y'all! I anticipate they'll all be receiving more bibs in the next few days.

Lots of people are posting on the RunDisney page that they contacted RunDisney about getting a refund because only one member of their family, etc., was able to register and that RunDisney is honoring those requests.
I hope that they give those extra registrations to the charities. People are lining up to fundraise for these organizations, it could be a win/win situation for all involved - including my DH :)

That's what I'm hoping for as well!!

I got in for the 1/2 yesterday during normal registration but was really hoping for the 5K too. Since I have separate friends in each. I have been trying to guess a password too to try and get into the 5K LOL

You can definitely get past the waiver page. Not sure how much further you can get though. I know earlier that the waiver page said full.

I am assuming it's not generic and probably way too difficult to guess so no new registrations that way. I am content with the half but really would have loved to do the 5K as well.

I went to the active site too and tried to register my DH and it took me to the 2nd page to enter his info. I stopped there but it looks like it might be working (fingers crossed). I hope it does for anyone that didn't get it.

Edited - Sorry I didn't read the last couple pages. I was just so eager to see that the link worked as far as I could take it.

Anyone considering Marathon Weekends at Hilton Bonnet Creek? I've stayed there before (not for a race) and thought it was nice and heard really good things from racers who have.

So I just clicked on that link to see where it went, and got to the page where it asks to enter info. It gave me a chance to look more closely at some of the things. I went down to the options to select pins and other items, and now I realize why I didn't get charged for a pin on my receipt, even though I clicked to buy one. I was going so fast that I just checked the box saying yes, I wanted one, but never put in a quantity. Oops, lol. It's not too important, but if I decided I really do want one, how can I go back and do that?

Oh, hurray! I realized today that there is a link to "view/print your receipt" in the payment confirmation email that goes to a different page than the "view your registration" in the registration confirmation email. The registration one was the one that kept giving me an error that I wasn't authorized to view it. But the payment one let me see what I entered, and now my mind is at ease... I did click the C2C button correctly. :D

Glad you were able to get the confirmation! I was so paranoid that I didn't click C2C when that's the whole reason I'm going through this madness.

Here is the link to purchase the commemorative items separately: http://www.active.com/framed/event_detail.cfm?EVENT_ID=2138467&CHECKSSO=0

Once you click Register Now it will ask you to log into your Active account (if you have one) or the last option is to continue as a guest! So if you need to purchase the pins, necklace, ears, performance jacket, or the Pre-Race Taste - that's the link you want.

On the runDisney page for the Wine & Dine, click on registration and scroll down or click on "Commemorative Items".
Then "Check if I am registered for a Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend commemorative item!"
Click the register button and it should let you register for pins, jacket or whatever you choose.

Question for ya...I just booked a room at POR through the RunDisney number, but am having trouble figuring out what the discount actually is percentage-wise. I'm wondering if it's the best deal, or if I were to wait for an orbitz discount, if that'd be cheaper. I plan on adding tickets later once I figure out how many days we'll need. ( staying 11/1- 11/10)

Even though I only booked a room, I was told it is considered a package since it includes event bus transportation. That seems a bit odd to me...I'm used to the room only discounts that Disney offers that are not considered a package. Is this correct??
Orbitz with an Orbitz code on top of discounted general public prices is always the best deal - the only hitch is that those codes and discounts come out much later, often after the 45 day cancellation period of the rD package.

And yes, anything booked through rD is considered a package, though it has nothing to do with race buses - that's a pretty funny answer! It just means the package rules apply instead of room-only rules: 45 day cancellation period vs. 5 day, payment due early instead of upon arrival.

If I am staying offsite (Bonnet Creek) can I still make ADRs for my trip in September?
Anyone can make ADRs 180 days out - it's not connected to tickets or resort stays. Onsite reservations get an extra 10 days on top of that 180.

I really need to stay off of facebook. lol I can't believe some of the things people are saying on there. I think I'm going to stick to this thread only in the future. haha

I'm with you. At least until things die down a little. I love the positive support we have here. I don't want to focus on the negative. Even a post someone had in my PTR about not getting in was so negative that it really brought me down. Let's build each other up, not tear each other down.

Bored at work and just went on to see what people were saying for some entertainment. WOW! Everyone c/o of not wanting to run by themselves.. Yes I get it, I would've been upset too had I not been able to register my boyfriend. I've never run a half marathon but I've run tons of 5Ks and I always make friends during them.. Soo ok it sucks that your friends didn't get in with you, but you're really going to waste $190 and not run because you have to do it by yourself? I don't get it :/

Does anyone know when the MVMCP tickets go on sale? I'm thinking of taking DD Sunday night after the race. DH will be with us, but he isn't a huge Disney fan. He's only going with us to Disney because its my first race and wants to show his support. haha
