Wine and Dine 2015

I just read on the runDisney FB page that registration for the half opened up again sometime within the last couple hours??? Everybody not registered go check it out! Maybe it is and you'll get in!

DH and I are in. My link went active about 3 minutes before noon EST so called DH and had him sign up at same time as me on his computer. Both of us were able to get in but we had a friend who tried at 12:45 EST who said it was sold out.
We did Star Wars at DL in January so this will be our second half and getting our C2C.
We did the expo at DL and enjoyed it. Met Jeff Galloway whose running program we follow so that we fun and ended up getting a few other things but we had our kids with us so we didn't stay too long. It was fun to wander around.
We are running a 10 miler in April and hoping to finish sub 12 min/mile so hoping to use that as proof of time. Do you think that will move us up from the last corral?
Now have to make hotel reservations.

I couldn't access it via the runDisney page, but through the link that Keels provided earlier, I could find spots.

So you don't need to go back and look.

Yes, that should definitely move you up from the last corral. If the corrals are approx. the same as last year, you would likely be placed in Corral G or H, and the corrals go up to L.

Just curious, because I saw your user name has a "MD"--is that for Maryland? Is the April 10 miler the Cherry Blossom? I ask because I am running Cherry Blossom, my first time :)

I think people have said that pretty much any proof of time will move you up from the last corral. I would think 12 min/mile definitely would.

This is basically our exact same plan except MVMCP on Sunday night. We head out on Monday for a 4 night Royal Caribbean cruise! Whoever said turning 30 is a drag didn't do it the way I am!!!

I'm down for a pre race meetup! I've been telling my DH about all my disboard friends and he thinks I'm crazy! But I think we are all pretty awesome!

Ooh, the cruise after a race weekend sounds awesome! We're splitting our vacation up this year and doing a Royal Caribbean cruise earlier in the year. It will be my first time so I'm excited for that too.

Just remember on Sunday, you may sleep in a little later than normal (especially if you close down the after party) and the Magic Kingdom closes at 7pm to standard day guests, as it hosts the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

That's a good point. I also went and looked at some crowd calendars and may change things up a bit based on that to Hollywood Studios on Sunday. I don't mind going in late since the main thing we want to see is fantasmic and we'll get FP+ for some rides. We'll do Magic Kingdom on Monday since it looks like a lower crowd day and then Epcot on Tuesday to end with Food and Wine before heading home. If our flight is late on Wednesday we may try to fit in time at Animal Kingdom Wednesday morning.

Yes, MD stands for Maryland and yes the 10 miler we are running is the Cherry Blossom, it is our first time as well. We will have to see if we can meet up somewhere and say hi.

Yes, even a 12 minute mile would move you up. That's roughly my current pace and I've only been in the last corral for my very first half when I didn't have a proof of time. And even then my ace was closer to the 13/14 minute mark if I remember correctly. That moved me up. Maybe not a huge jump, but out of the last corral nonetheless.

Is anyone else having trouble checking ticket prices from the travel page of rundisney? I want to check the discounted price, and when I click the link, it says they are still building the page. Are they not on sale yet?

Hi all! I was only active on here for a couple questions WAY back before registration but wanted to join the conversation. I am happy to announce that we were all able to get registered for the half (those of us running) and I got my two boys in for the kid races! I'm also glad to come over here after being horrified at the Facebook posts to see a much calmer and more upbeat environment! I was starting to feel discouraged after all the posts about how terrible Disney is because they didn't get in the race. I do feel bad that some people didn't get their whole group signed up or missed out entirely but the dramatics are intense over there.

We will be at Disney World 11/6-11/16! It will be our longest trip to date and first RunDisney experience and I'm excited for both.

Welcome to the thread! :) Congrats on getting in for the race.

Hi all,

I am a voracious reader of the disboards in general, but I stalk the runDisney threads almost daily even though I hardly ever post (I guess I don't think I have much to contribute). I just wanted to thank you for all the information you've accumulated here as a community. I was prepped and ready at go-time this morning to register myself and my husband. I didn't have any issues and was printing out both confirmation receipts by 9:03 pst. I wasn't even aware of the drama and chaos until after work this afternoon. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Without the link, who knows if I would have had the same story to tell.

We're Disneyland vets, but this is our first trip to Florida. We're so excited (but a little overwhelmed -- planning this all seems so unwieldy), and I'm thankful for all you folks who make this forum so awesome!

I didn't know we actually had to contribute anything meaningful to the thread to post. ;) Glad you jumped in and happy that you were able to get registered. And post more...it's fun.

Wow. That's interesting. I hope the folks who missed out on here see that. Is there some way to maybe alert them??? I may go back and try to see who missed out and send them a PM.

With all the hotel talk, I'm glad we booked POR a bit ago, even though we weren't officially "in". Takes that stress off everything.

OK, I want to be sure I have the dates right, but if we're checking in on November 5th, when can we make ADR's (I think I calculated May something or other) and FP+ (I figured out to be the week of my birthday, around September 6) - does that sounds about right?

Amen! I booked CBR as soon as I decided I wanted to do it, so that's already done. That said, I booked it for just me, and now that my friend got in I had to change it to 2 (no price difference as it's room only, but I didn't want them to upgrade me to a king bed thinking it was just me) and was on hold for like 40 minutes last night to do that, so I can only imagine.

ADRs for a 11/5 arrival would begin 5/9 (I know because I looked for my 11/6 arrival and it's 5/10). I don't know about FP+ as I probably won't be doing parks this trip outside of the after party.

I am still new to WDW as we have only been once (last month) and my daughter did all the reservations, so forgive me if this is a stupid question... If I am staying offsite (Bonnet Creek) can I still make ADRs for my trip in September? DD25 and I are AP holders (due to the number of trips we will be making this year!), but the rest of our party won't have tickets until much closer to our travel date (Sept 18). If I can make ADRs at 6 months, can I make them for our full party of 8? Thanks!

Help! I can get in, but it keeps saying that what I entered for PAssword isn't valid, I've tried a million things, just set up and Active account today, not taking that or anything else! Any ideas?

Whew! My St Pattys shenanigans made me very behind in this! Let me try to catch up --

That didn't work right haha - trying again...

Same here - I can fill out the waiver, but it keeps asking me for a password after my name and address info. I've already got an active account as well. It just says "Attention! Option entered for "Password" is not valid" :(

Even though I only booked a room, I was told it is considered a package since it includes event bus transportation. That seems a bit odd to me...I'm used to the room only discounts that Disney offers that are not considered a package. Is this correct?? Thanks!!
Correct. It is a package! I think just because it is through a division of Disney travel company which handles packages, since it is basically a group rate. Room only goes through a different division usually. And it is great! It qualifies for 6 months 0% interest on Disney visa (which they only give you for packages) so it helps me out as an AP holder!

I agree! I feel for them too (especially since my sister is one of them) but some of their logic and complaints make no sense.

I saw a lot of "they should make it a lottery." To me, that makes no sense. It is a fun/family/come take a vacation and spend $$ with us, trip. I think lottery is more useful for the very "serious" runs vs. fun runs.

I don't recall reading about the Virtual Queue in registrations prior to this, so maybe that's something new to expect going forward - it definitely is a way to funnel registrants effectively and basically make sure that people who clicked the RunDisney link first get a better shot. I do think that the Active side of things should be improved - because it's really sucky that people got through payment processing only to be told THEN that there were no spots left.

The waiting period was definitely used during PHM - I had to get in 1 half entry and 2 for the 5k so I was very familiar with it :) I think I actually got it for TOT in 2014 also, but only for a minute or 2.

YUP! I'm planning on GSC myself, so I'll definitely be on the lookout for that one. I've already promised Avengers as well - Avengers I should be able to track down next week!
You are so awesome to look for these for us!! :worship:

It's going to be a fun, fun time! Now - when are we going to start planning the Meet-Ups?

In for meet ups - maybe one pre-race and another at F&W one night for those that can?

Any predictions on how fast the after party will sell out? My husband will need a ticket!
Nervous about this too! I want someone to come with me, but I don't know if anyone can and I am sure I won't find out until closer to!

Just tried this and it looked to be working! Maybe its my magic computer again? pixiedust:

GRRRR this is worse than not being able to get in at all, I feel like I'm SOOOOO close!

Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't follow it past the waiver. That is a password that rundisney gives out, not one you make :( With my botched registration that is how they gave me permission to go in

Edit - this makes me think that they are having to do the same again...call them! Ask for a supervisor!
