Wine and Dine 2015

3 nights at CBR and race registration $692. They only have rooms at CBR and POP. I compared the rate to RunDisney discount and Get Sports was $20 more. It was worth it to me to secure my registration. :thumbsup2 You can also purchase discount park tickets separately. Not sure how they compare to RunDisney's price.
So you didn't have to get the park tickets? They make it seem on some of those travel sites like you do (like it's included in the package), but I'll have an annual pass in November so I wouldn't need a park ticket. I'm just considering my options with travel providers in case I don't get in on Tuesday.

I booked through the Run Disney rate - 3 Nights at Beach Club & 1 Finish Line Party ticket (for me) was $1148. This is about $300 cheaper than what rack rate for Beach Club would have been!

No, no park tickets were required. And an added bonus, no Active registration fee. (Not a huge added cost, but it's one more Mickey bar!!:thumbsup2) Total race cost - $190.00

I agree, the RunDisney rate at Beach Club was great. I would have loved to stay there for the convenience on race day, but the instant gratification of having a bib today won out.

You are most welcome! :)

Finally got through everything, for some reason I wasn't being alerted about new posts. Was wondering why it was so quiet. 25 pages later, here I am. Thanks for the link and the advice from those that have done this before. Excited to get registered on Tuesday. I have the day off, but meeting up with some friends to partake in some St. Patrick's day bar hopping, so hopefully I can register smoothly from my phone. I have done other races from it, but never one that I was worried about it selling out.

Glad to see people talking about interval running. When I first started running I used the C25K app and haven't intentionally used run walk intervals until yesterday. I had only run once in the past few months because of the winter( and I refuse to run on treadmill) and decided to run 5 minutes walk 1 minute. Got through 4 miles in 41:52 which is better than I thought I would do with the break. I think I am going to use this from now on.

DW has decided not to do Jungle Trek now, so just me doing the 1/2. Really trying to get her into running, but she just doesn't want to do it. Going to keep working at her though. Good luck to everyone on getting registered!

So, the active.com link that huggybuff posted is the best/quickest way to register? I've been told to go to the runDisney site, then someone on a different board said the active.com website (they must mean this link) then someone said to go to the runDisney site but have the active.com site open in another browser. The link posted by huggybuff looks like the quickest to me.

When I registered for Princess the runDisney site was all bogged down and wasn't loading, but the active.com link did load and I was able to register. I have pretty isolated experience though.

Is all you need to do in preparation for registration is create an active.com account?

Previous posters have said you don't need to open an active.com account at all. Or even sign into your active account if you have one already. Apparently we'll need to fill in all the information whether we have accounts or not.

Yeah, when I did registration for AP it doesn't help at all.

I'm excited about registration coming up this week! I'm planning on registering myself for the half and then myself and my husband for the 5k. Can I do both at once or is the 5k registration a completely separate process? If separate, I assume the half would see out first and I should do that registration first?

On a separate note, I did my 2nd half marathon yesterday at Rock and Roll DC. It was rainy and windy, but I managed a PR! It was only by 30 seconds but I'll take it given the conditions :)

Just got off the phone with RD, and booked 3 nights at POP for $337. We are going on a cruise after so DH wanted to go least expensive as possible on the hotel room. The CM made me nervous when she said "there is a full refund up to 45 days prior if you don't get into the race." Gee, thanks for making me more nervous about registration on Tuesday!

@Keels congrats on your first half marathon! Way to go! :yay:

I'm second guessing signing up for the 5k. I keep going back and forth. Who knows when I'll get back for this race. I may just bite the bullet.

Thanks, lady!! It was definitely tough (the course was the opposite of fun!), but I don't know that I've ever felt the amazement I felt when I crossed the finish line!

I'm probably going to stay away from the distance except for rD and other fun halfs.

Thinking about the 5K as well as. I'm SO not a morning person, which is why W&D was so appealing to me. I guess I'll be a registration time decision ...

That is partly why my wife said no to the 5k. She looked at me and said. "Do you really want to wake up early when we are there without the kids?"

JetBlue flights were released today! Just booked our tickets so the last thing to do is get DBF registered on Tuesday!!!!

Pretty much sums up finishing a half marathon for me. And nothing quite beats that first one - although hopefully I'll come close when I run my first full in 2017 (gotta make that happen, no matter what!).

The thing that gets me about the 5K for this is that it's the same day. I don't know that I want to wake up super early and then stay up super late, even with a nap in-between. Besides, part of the appeal for me about W&D is that it's at night and being from the west coast is that my body is used to being 3 hours behind. Don't think that would favor well for the 5K.

I wish we had JetBlue here! We will be waiting until May for Southwest to release November flights.

Here, here! Although we technically could go with JetBlue but it (a) doesn't fly out of my favorite airport and (b) the connections are too out of the way for me.

Do you find the prices are better this far out or closer to the trip? I seem to usually book our flights 2-2.5 months before.
