This will be our first time offsite and there are so many choices. I have finally narrowed it down to a 2 or 3 bedroom condo in Windsor Hills and I plan to book through florida sun vacation homes. I have a couple of condos in mind, but am wondering what criteria I should use to make the final decision. Do people prefer a top floor unit, a first floor unit, close to the pool and clubhouse? If being close to the pool is a plus how do I find out the unit's location?

Thanks!

1. We prefer not facing the pool as if you are in one of the buildings near the pool it can get noisy.
2. We prefer renting from an owner that uses a code box at the unit so we don't have to check in somewhere else...we can head right to the condo.
3. We prefer a unit that is not on the ground floor for security issues.
4. We prefer a condo where as a renter you are allowed to change the thermostats. My friend rented a condo at WH on the top floor and they had to go to the store and buy fans as it was so hot and they weren't allowed to change the thermostat temp.

We've stayed at www.mickeyscondo.com (but in their safari one) and loved it there!:goodvibes
We drive over to the pool as my kids were freaked out by the little red ants that were all over the sidewalks.

Oh my goodness... I didn't even think about the thermostat. Is that something that the units advertise as being able to change?

It's not advertised per say but it is sometimes listed in the FAQ's or in the contract you sign to book. I always ask before booking.:thumbsup2

We just got back from renting tinkerbell's treehouse condo from florida sun vacation homes.

It was well situated, only a 5-10 minute walk to the pool and clubhouse. The decor was nice. It was only on the 2nd floor, which was nice.

We were allowed to change the thermostat but they wanted it kept between a certain area or there was a danger of the unit freezing up. If it did freeze up due to being turned down too low, they said there would be a charge to fix it.

It was pretty comfortable, but I had to have the ceiling fans on because it felt a little stuffy without. Especially when I was active-cleaning, laundry, etc. I tend to be warm blooded and keep my own home very cool, so it may have just been me.

Either way it was not an issue if the ceiling fans were moving the air around. In fact, we never turned it all the way down.
