Windsor Hills help....please!

We've been checking out Windsor Hills also. I have a couple of questions.
Anyone use their shuttle service? Are there many runs back and forth?
If not and you drove, what is parking at the parks like? (we've always stayed on site) Is it very expensive?
Does the pool have long hours?
I keep feeling like I should be staying on WDW site (will I miss out on the experience etc). If I stay here (WH), what am I losing not staying at a WDW resorts?

Windsor Hills doesn't have its own shuttle service. The transportation is provided by Maingate Transportation. From an owner's website:
How does the Windsor Hills Resort daily shuttle service work/operate/etc?

In the sundry shop in the Windsor Hills Resort clubhouse you can find schedules and make arrangements. Shuttle cost is $10 per person round trip to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom. $14 per person round trip to universal, seaworld, and shopping areas. There is an information sheet at the clubhouse with the time schedule. The shuttle company is MAINGATE TRANSPORTATION. They can be called at # 407-390-0000. A taxi cab to Disney is $20 one way.. cab to Universal is $32 one way.... Don't forget it costs $11 per day for parking at Disney and Universal if you drive, although you can come and go freely from various parks, it's pay just once per day for parking at all of the Disney parks.

The cost of parking at Disney is actually $12 now. As far as parking, it's no big deal. Park your car, catch a tram to the entrance or if you park close enough you can walk. That must be comparable to having to walk from your onsite room to where the bus picks you up and wait for that to come.
The pool is open from 8am to 10pm.
We love Windsor Hills but I wouldn't stay there without having a car for transportation.

After doing the inquiry nad getting over 100 emails and a few phone calls I am overwhelmed.

Do those of you that have rented preferred the townhouse or condo? I like the idea of the townhouse with the splash pool.

Are there any red flags we should look for?

I am looking at $1000 for 10 nights vs over $2000 because of my family size.

We started out at condos and have pretty much moved to the townhomes for our trips. (Started at Windsor Palms many years ago, and have now generally moved to Windsor Hills.) We like the townhomes for the following reasons:
  • Parking spot right out front
  • our own small splash pool out back
  • 3 bathrooms instead of 2
  • master bathroom has much larger counter than in condos
  • no possibly noisy neighbors upstairs

I know what you mean about so many condos. We stayed at a high end Condo at Windsor Hills. It was only a few dollars more but well worth it. Everything was top of the line. I am not sure but I think the web site was mydisneycondo.com Good luck AL
