So many condos to choose from - has anyone rented a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Hills that they would recommend? I wanted one close to the clubhouse but finding it difficult to find locations mentioned in the write ups. Then I've read its crazy busy and loud next to the clubhouse. So not sure what to do.

Would love to hear some personal experiences and any advice on renting a condo. We're a family of 5 and looking for a 3 bedroom condo to possibly rent instead of staying onsite.

Thank you in advance.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo (#301) from vacationcentralflorida.com in January. The only problem some people have is they only rent Saturday to Saturday.

My review is on the review board, but I will say it was close enough to walk to the clubhouse, but it was far enough away that we didn't hear much noise at night. If you have any questions, let me know.

:)

We just returned from Windsor Hills as well, and rented a 3 bedroom from vacationcentralflorida.com. We were fairly close to the clubhouse, but were so busy we never made it to it. The condo we rented was nice and clean, not fancy, but perfect for what we needed. The rate was extremely reasonable. The longer you wait to book the better the rates! We rented it for around $580 with tax and fees.

We also have rented from the above formentioned but a 2 bdrm - here is a link to all the condos this gentleman rents - they as mentioned only rent sat-sat but are very well priced compared to other WH rentals - We were 2 bldgs away from the clubhouse and pool - more than walkable.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look over those ones mentioned. We have CBR booked so we'll probably keep that - its 2 rooms but I got the 40% code so that helps. Still going to look around for a condo - just in case.

Thanks again.

op have you seen these?

I am just starting to look at info on windsor hills and found them.. I am not sure if they are more $ compared to other ones.

We are a family of 5 and we just stayed at Windsor Hills over Christmas break. We rented a 3 bedroom condo in the building closest to the pool, with pool view. It was the best location! The noise from the pool never bothered us. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. The owner was wonderful to deal with and very trustworthy. I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for the info. I checked out those websites - they look very nice. My only concern with the condo is its up so high. Not sure I'd want to worry about that all the time with the kids. But I like thats its close by. I need to make a list of pros and cons to see which way to go. I really like staying onsite but I also feel like I should try offsite. I may like it more and be saving some money and not line Disney's pockets.

The different food options and not having the kids always having to eat the same thing day after day is a big plus for me. The kids menues at Disney are really bad although they have gotten better.

Thanks again - lots of fun thinking to do.

OP, as I mentioned to you in my PM we'll be in a three-bedroom condo next week. I will definitely post a review of the condo afterwards.

No need to worry about the height of the 4th floor condo - the porch is screened in. It was really very convenient to Disney - only about 1-2 miles from Animal Kingdom, 5 minutes to Epcot and Disney Studios, and about 15 to Magic Kingdom. I bought a AAA parking pass on ebay which made parking very convenient as we got to park in the closest spots, next to handicapped parking.

It was nice having breakfast in the condo, and we usually came back for lunch too. There are many restaurants in the area but we usually ate at a Disney restaurant. It was also nice having a washer and dryer in the condo - free laundry! It was nice coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothes.

Good to know - I loved the view. I bet you didn't have to pack as much either which is great! Lots of pros to the condo. I'm making a list to present to DH. Hes open to it which surprised me.

Thanks again.

Gor your PM. Thank you so much for your help. I looked at the link you sent me - looks very nice and in a good location.

I love WH. I am staying at POP this trip but only because of the 4/3 deal. Otherwise it is more beneficial for me to stay at a condo. I love that WH is like a resort but you have the space. 3 bedrooms,2 bath, full kitchen, washer and dryer(come home with clean clothes). I love having the room to spread out. I would crunch some numbers. If its cheaper to stay onsite with the deal I would keep it but if not try a condo at WH. I think you will be very happy. This is the condo that we stayed at. The owners were great and the beds very comfortable. It overlooks the pool. hth

Thank you. The pros of the condo/villa option keep adding up in my mind. We are very close to reserving a villa at WH but I just not sure what to do. I'll crunch some numbers but right now its pretty much the same each way. With the 40% pin code that really helps. However the cancellation policies are much different.

Well for me if the price was the same I would go for the condo hands down. I love having the space and the kitchen to have breakfast, a full size fridge and the washer/dryer to throw a load in at night or when you go to the pool. The pool is beautiful. I don't really enjoy taking the disney transportation. That isn't a plus for me. I would take it occassionally but most of the time need a car anyways. We save money when we go to the parks by packing a lunch and snacks. We always have dinner out... I'm on vacation and I'm not cooking.:rotfl:

The thing I really don't look forward to in a hotel room is all the clutter and cramped space so until I can afford a suite or villa in disney I guess it will be WH for us. :thumbsup2

We also rented from vacationcentralflorida.com last year and loved it! But, this year they were the 3rd highest quote we received from windsorhillsrent.com. Last year they were one of the cheapest. I'm so disappointed because we had a wonderful time there last year, the place was fantasitic and the owners were great.
They are $436 higher than they were last year for the townhome. Most quotes I received were between $1400 & $1600 for 2 weeks, all fees/taxes included. VacationcentralForida.com for the same dates was $1900.
I'm not saying they're not worth it.. it's a very nice, well kept townhome. I just can't afford it:(

If you have your heart set on staying in Windsorhills, go to Windsorhillsrent.com and put in an inquiry... you'll get lots of responses. The owners are usually very helpful in answering any questions.

It's a great place! Have a wonderful time!

We've been checking out Windsor Hills also. I have a couple of questions.
Anyone use their shuttle service? Are there many runs back and forth?
If not and you drove, what is parking at the parks like? (we've always stayed on site) Is it very expensive?
Does the pool have long hours?
I keep feeling like I should be staying on WDW site (will I miss out on the experience etc). If I stay here (WH), what am I losing not staying at a WDW resorts?

Thanks - we're still undecided. We've picked out one we like and have contacted the owner but we're not sure we'll be able to go yet for sure and the deposit is nonrefundable so that s another thing to take into consideration. With our room only ressies at Disney - we can cancel much closer to the arrival date and still get our money back. Augghhh!

I know its $12 to park at the theme parks - some posters have mentioned getting a AAA Diamond Parking Pass on ebay and being able to park in the designated AAA parking which is closer to the park. Other then that thats all I can answer. But I can relate to wondering whether we'd be missing out on anything by staying offsite. Its so much money to spend to be wishing we had stayed onsite. I think the disney feel may be less due to having to drive, deal with directions and traffic vs just boarding Disney transportation. But theres always the positive side - we can come and go as we wish with limited waiting. When staying on Disney we see Disney and all its wonder, but will it be different driving and seeing the gas stations, convenience stores, malls? etc.
I dunno - I guess we have to try it to find out. Augghh!

I'm sure someone will come along and answer the other questions. I know theres a shuttle and its like $10/person round trip and its best to reserve your seat. Never used it just read about it. I guess it depends on how many people in your party whether its worth it or not.

Good luck and have fun researching.
