I've not stayed in them, but I know quite a bit about them and the resort! (We own / run 3 townhomes there). They're pretty nice actually, the 3 bedroom condos are roughly 1500 sq feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, as big as the townhomes actually (but on 1 floor not 2, and 2 baths not 3)...and the condo buildings are situated right next to the pool / clubhouse!
I think you'll love it to be honest, the resort is absolutely gorgeous, and it's as close to WDW as staying onsite, but with much nicer amenities and facilities at a fraction of the cost of staying in an onsite hotel room!
Do please come back after your trip and write a review for these boards on the specific place you stayed in though, so others can share in your experience! We loved our first 2 trips there so much we decided to buy a place, prior to visiting we'd never heard of the resort (it was brand new in 05), and we hadn't even an inkling of a thought of buying a place by Disney, it was just so nice we couldn't resist!
I'll give you a few suggestions... one...pre-order your groceries on
www.gardengrocer.com for delivery. Two... bring along a couple of DVDs for you and your kids to watch...in case you get a rainy day or just want to watch a movie at home one night. I was just there in Jan and went looking for a Blockbuster or something in the area...one thing I could NOT believe is there isn't one anywhere nearby...and we drove all around the area for an hour looking! LOL
They do let you watch movies in the clubhouse movie theater for free, and they have a movie library in the sundry shop you can choose from for free too, but their movies are only for viewing in the movie theater, not for checkout! (I suggested they could do so and probably make a little profit doing it, but they didn't seem interested! LOL)
I would also suggest asking your homeowner specifically what isn't provided in the home, so you can buy the right supplies in advance. Most vacation homes are defined as "self catering", meaning they don't have daily maid service, and are only stocked with a "starter" supply of things like TP, paper towels, dish soap, garbage bags, etc. No one ever told us this when we first rented and it was kind of annoying not to know, once it was explained to us we didn't mind, we just wished we'd known in advance so we could have planned accordingly. Meaning, we went to the store and THEN realized we were missing stuff. If they had simply explained it to us or given us a list of what we should have brought up front it would have made it all a lot smoother for us... and we wouldn't have felt as "surprised" by that part of it (we learned this is the norm....just didn't understand why they didn't tell us this in advance).
There's some helpful information along these lines here, some of it is specific to our homes, but most is specific to the resort and vacation homes in general:
