Wilma on Monday, will the parks be open?

As of right now they have evacuated Fort Wilderness guests over to the All Stars (for their safety since it is mostly camping and because it is prone to flooding) and they canceled the 9:30 Hoop Dee Doo for this evening. As for park hours tomorrow that decision has not yet been made.

Thanks for the update. I wonder "who" makes the decision of closing a park...WOW I thought school superintendents had a lousy job of deciding when to call a snow day (up here in Philly) but deciding to close Disney???? Keep safe!

All 4 WDW themeparks are closed Monday morning, but they may open some of them later in the day...weather permitting.

Just in: ALL Disney Parks will be closed on Monday

Not that I doubt that they will be closed since we already have Tornado warnings as it is... But I was wondering where you heard that and/or saw that... Hubby is at MK working right now and they just told him the decision had not yet been made? Not that communication is not slow and the boards usually have the info first, Just curious.

It is posted on our local tv channels and on their websites here in Orlando.

It was on Channel 13 and again on Channel 6

Any news on the airport? I have been surfing the net all day...and haven't seen anything about flight delays/cancellations for MCO yet.

Maybe they (WDW) hasn't gotten around to updating their site yet, I wouldn't post that the parks were closed if I hadn't heard it on the news from 2 different channels.

Just saw it on Channel 9 thanks... Funny how they let the cast know last ;)

It says the parks will not be open in the morning. I have heard that they will open in the afternoon on Monday.

According the article cast members are told to report for work Monday.

While Disney can continue to issue press releases that the parks will not open at least by normal opening hour, Disney can roll the buses at a moment's notice to bring on site guests to the parks and have rides and attractions up and running.

On site does have its advantages.

5 PM Sunday -- Storm is expected to come ashore in the Naples - Ft. Myers area. With that storm track Disney will not escape rain and some wind.

We stayed onsite for Frances--we were at Wilderness Lodge--they brought in entertainment from around Disney. We had the African drummers, the candy making lady and Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale as well.

The recreation staff earn their keep.

At this time that information is null and void--the parks are closed regardless of statements on the website.

The parks definitely are closed tomorrow. We're at the BCV right now and I just called the front desk. She read a message she just received as she was on the phone with me. All 4 parks, TL, BB, and DD are closed "until the storm passes over," whatever that means. I'm hoping we should be good to go by Tuesday morning. Right now it's raining pretty hard down here--the outer bands of the storm are passing overhead. And to think we were in Epcot eating pastries from France an hour and a half ago.
