Will you stay at OKW more due to the slide?

I enjoy staying at OKW but it has not been my favorite resort and one of the main reasons was because of the lack of the pool slide. Do you anticipate that you will stay at OKW now because they offer this extra perk? I think that our family will pick OKW more frequently (although we love our home BWV) because we like a pool with "action" and can get it plus larger accomodations for less. Do you think this will lessen the demands on other resorts or will you still exchange out of OKW for a better location?

Our family is more interested in trying out OKW now that the slide is open.
We are BCV/BWV owners & lovers.

We stayed at OKW a couple of years ago but didn't care for it. It just didn't have the same feel as the other resorts. Glad to see they are puting in a pool though.

No, because we couldn't possibly stay there more than we already do , since we stay there every trip! ;)

We have stayed at OKW several times. Now that our kids are a couple years older they love the slides at the pools. So, the last few trips we have stayed at VWL and BWV. We will definetly go back to OKW, not having a slide has detoured us. I love the rooms and being able to park near my room.

We've stayed at OKW a few times and always near Turtle Pond. We've never even been in the Main pool.
So nope it won't effect our decision at all. We would stay there anyway. :)

No.

I would still rather make the walk thru BW or thru BC to the theme pool than walk or take the bus to the HH.

Plus I really don't like the calypso music. Makes me want to go bang my head on something.

Not that it's not a great Disney resort, I don't change my mind about staying somewhere just because of adding a slide.

So when you first heard it...just WHAT DID you bang it on?

Would I use the slide? :rotfl2: uh, no. I would look a lot like Shamu--in size and color--coming down the slide. Believe me, it wouldn't be a pretty sight. :3dglasses

I happen to think that Shamu is a beautiful sight, so Cruelladeville...come on down!!!

We always stay at OKW, so the new slide won't change that.
But the new slide will probably make me want to swim in the main pool--something we've only done twice since 1992.

We loved OKW, but bought into SSR. I think the pool slide would entice me to go back a little more, though I would hate to end up with a room at the other end of the resort and have to take a bus to the pool. I like to have a room close to main pool areas and community areas. I think when I have tried SSR and BCV, I would stay there again if I preferred the resort.

Yes, I think the slide area will want to make us try OKW. Well, that and the fact that we are freinds with 2 DVC families who are BCV/BWV owners, but only ever want to stay at OKW because they love it so much! They RAVE about it all the time. Plus, it looked very pretty on the new Disney vacation planning DVD we got this weekend! :flower:

No, we love styaing at OKW becuase of the quiet pool. I hate noisy, crowded pools with slides.

DH and I loved one of the quiet pools at OKW when we stayed there. We're more likely to swim there than with the slide. This is true at the other resorts as well, with the exception of the lazy river part of SAB.

Anytime we wait too long to book we end up at OKW (seems always available) and on the wait list for anything else. A new slide will help if the list does not come through. Booked a 2 BR for Easter a few weeks ago-yep OKW and wait list for anything else.

At present, of all the DVC resorts, OKW does have the largest number of rooms so it tends to have availability more often. On a side note, I can verify that there were no OKW rooms the first week of Nov '04. I tried for Nov 2-5 and was even on a waitlist for 60 days. I tried again at check-in but there were still no rooms at the "inn". So there are times even here when it's tough to get a room.
As for the new slide....we're very excited about it. In fact, in late July 2003 we stayed at the BWV based simply on the fact that my two youngest wanted a pool slide (BCV and VWL were "no availability"). So now hopefully we'll be able to stay put at OKW for the most part. Not that we don't like the other DVC resorts (we do !), it's just dh and I prefer the larger rooms/balcony/parking outside door.
