I won't miss them; my DH went there twice and were less than impressed. With the recent reports of crime in the area, I would have felt a little unsafe going now.

I think the new idea of a "family friendly" area is a great one, and since we just bought DVC, we'll be much more likely to spend time there. Some of the clubs seemed to bring a crowd that was 180 degrees from what we go to WDW for.

I've only been once to the nightclubs so I won't miss them...we have young children so we look forward to even more family-friendly stuff at DTD.

I do feel for the people that frequented the clubs, especially the AC and Comedy Club...I'm not sure why either of those need to be shut down.

I like many others am disappointed that the Adventuer's Club and Comedy Warehouse are closing. If you never got a chance to go to the Adventurer's Club, you missed out on a real Disney gem. The first time we walked in, we were about to walk right out, but went to a show in the library and wound up closing the place. It was the funniest show I have ever seen! To this day we talk about it on a regular basis. I hope they bring it back somewhere, I can't imagine they will close a gem like this, it is truly an experience you can not find elsewhere.

The only ones I MIGHT have missed are the AC and the Comedy Warehouse, but in truth I haven't been to any of them in over two years so I guess the response is no.

Reason I didn't go with SSR was because it was so close to PI withmy kids being in their 20's I didn't want them hanging there at night (esp daughters)
I was there last year and the locals hanging around down there didn't make me want my daughters going to the clubs. I think it will make the DTD area
a lot nicer for families if its more retail and restaurants just MO

Will miss the AC a LOT!!
We usually go 4-5 times a trip. It is our evening entertainment. Just spend the whole evening there. I am so disappointed :(
Hopefully there will be a place for it in the new PI.

Well, we have tried to make a PI visit on every one of our WDW visits since our kids have been old enough to "babysit" themselves. We enjoyed the clubs.

I will say that we never felt "unsafe" while we were there. You could tell there was plenty of police and security presence in the area, both apparent and not-so apparent.

Unless Disney does something totally different than what it has done in the past, I probably won't visit the new area. To be honest, I get a little burned out on all of the gift shops selling mostly the same items or some of the "speciality" shops in DTD which are great if you come to WDW to buy a $3000 signed Elvis poster, but do not offer much for the typical guest. The only thing that might pull me in is if they truly come up with some unique dining options. If they are going to fill the area with chain-type places that you can find in most major cities, I would be disappointed.

I also do not understand when people say that PI was not "family-friendly". PI was not made to be "family-friendly", it was supposed to be adult friendly (to different degrees of success). So, if you were taking your kids through PI at one in the morning and were offended by all of the drunk people partying, maybe you should have left the kiddies with a babysitter at the resort?

Can someone tell me what is so great about the Adv. Club? I have walked past it many times- and from all the hubaballoo I think I may need to try it before it closes.

Yes, I will miss them greatly. The Adventurer's Club in particular was something I could not get anywhere else on earth, in any city. That's what makes this a real shame to me. You can find Basin, Rainforest Cafe, Earl of Sandwich, Sosa Cigar, Planet Hollywood, and numerous other things in non-Disney places, but Adventurer's Club was unique, a Disney classic.

This one club, if not the comedy warehouse as well, should be reconsidered in the newly designed PI.

I will be happy to see them go. ::yes::

Bring on more shopping and themed restaurants. :thumbsup2

And maybe I will get a better nights sleep without PI visitors slamming doors and making noise as they find their way back to their resort rooms at all hours of the night from :drinking1

How can anyone say glad to see Adventurer's Club go?!!! Unbelievable. What a treasure. Very sad.

Here's how: I am glad to see Adventurer's Club go! See it's easy!

Just kidding, I know many liked it but I guess the "corny" comedy just wasn't my cup of tea?:confused3

Just like the Beatles ain't mine. That was easy too.

The Adventurer's Club may not be some people's "cup o tea," however, it didn't pull gangs and thugs in like BET, etc. It was, for the most part, family entertainment. My 9-year-old son loves it, and I thought he was going to cry when I told him it was closing.

My dh and I are really not into clubs and we don't drink so for us we really don't care either way.:goodvibes

So. it's OK for a 9-year old? We plan on going on our August trip with my 9-year old DD. Any advise when would be the best time for us to get there?

Nightclubs are OK, but I can see why Disney would want to close them and give more space for more dining options. It is almost impossible to get a table at some restaurants without a reservation and a lot of people like room for an spontaneous - let´s eat here!!! Something that is not possible at this moment at some of the more popular places, like Ohana. More dining options would probably free up some space and give alternatives - not that Disney does not have alternatives for great dining. :)

We'll certainly miss 8Tax. My boyfriend and I always go there at least 2-3 times per visit. We love to dance and love that era in music.:cool1: PI for us was just a fun place to go when the parks close down early and we're still rarin' to go (and we DON"T want to eat or shop). Guess we'll hang at the Boardwalk but it's not quite the same!:sad2:

OT, but I love how everyone keeps saying "the locals" and generalizing all of us. Not all of "the locals" that patronized PI were "riff raff". My DH works for Disney! Also, the crime thing has been totally blown out of proportion on these boards. From reading some posts you'd think you were walking into downtown LA bloods and crips areas! Geesh! I'm sure your local mall has, at one time or another, had problems with rowdy teens. It's the same everywhere.

FTR---I'll miss the AC and CW
