Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

YAY!!! That's great that you got the cruise booked!! :cool1:

The Dream is such a beautiful ship!

Congratulations on booking the cruise!!! Yes, curious minds want to know what category please :) all the characters will be in their halloween garb, that'll be so cute!

Keep an eye on the prices over the next year and you'll see how much they'll go up, it's crazy. My cruise is still 7 months away and the price for the same category is $1400 more than when I booked last November. With DCL early booking is very cost effective.

It is Catholic, but it's in Spokane, WA. About a 5 hour drive east from Seattle. Known for basketball among other things. Academically it's a great school.

That sounds cool and not horribly far away. It's like the drive to VA Tech, which is 6 or so hours from here. Not out of the range of doable.

:cool1:

YAY! the earlier you book the better, what category did you book?

I booked 6A and I am on Deck 9. I know they are the aft cabins and I went back and forth as to whether I wanted aft or the middle of the boat. But I saw some pictures of the aft verandahs and I actually like that feeling of seclusion. I can always changed to 5D if something convinces me its not a good move, but I want to try it.

Hmmn....wish I could sneak away with you for F&G...although I have my own sneaky April plan that I haven't sold Jeff on yet. Somehow I have to get a couples trip in there for us before I bring up the idea of DLR for spring break. LOL!

Good idea. And there is no way I could really go to Disney on my own. I will just have to postpone until Denny can travel. No wonder he can't wait to retire. :rotfl:

I'm going to be banned from a girls trip through after this one for a bit if we fit in everything else on the agenda. We will see though. One sister did commit to dates for the big trip so that was exciting, even if it is potentially 17 months away! Hopefully you can do HH in April, I hope to get there someday but it does look like a long shot.

17 months away is really not that long. I'm not planning to do another girl's trip anytime soon because starting next year I can actually travel with Denny whenever we want (well, taking into consideration work restrictions). But I finally don't have to worry about school schedules! :cheer2: I'm only a little excited about that.

Yay for the cruise!!! :cool1:

Even though its 14 months away, I am totally psyched. :cool1: It feels like such a special treat.

Awesome! Hope it's a blast!

How can it NOT be? Can't wait! :cheer2:

Or you could go to Hawaii in June instead. Just sayin. :rolleyes1

You know - I originally planned a nice trip for Nick's graduation and Hawaii would have been a great celebration, but he told me he doesn't want to vacation with us next year. Harsh, I know! But, I get it. It's what teens do and I know its a temporary thing. So, its his lost. Instead of doing a graduation trip, Denny and I are taking a cruise. So there!

Yay for booking a cruise!!!:cool1::cheer2:

October is a great time to cruise, because it's still warm, but the summer crowds aren't taking up the entire ship anymore. I really feel like you're going to have a great time aboard the Dream. :thumbsup2

I am very excited to have the cruise booked. I have been giddy ever since I paid the deposit. :cool1: I picked October for several reasons: its near our anniversary, Halloween is Denny's birthday, I will get some Halloween scenery, and then I can go to Disney for the Christmas decorations. :thumbsup2

It's a bit of a bummer to hear about HHI next spring, though. I imagine it would've been a nice trip, but there's lots of places to visit and sights to see, I am sure something will fall in your lap shortly. (And I'm excluding another trip with your bro and co.:rotfl:)

:rotfl: What? You don't want my brother to fall into my lap again???? :confused3 Why ever not? :lmao:

I think we will figure something out and if we can't go to HHI we will just use more DVC points on our October trip. It's all good. I feel blessed to be at a point in my life where I am able to plan nice vacations. I am very thankful.

:woohoo: on the cruise booking!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited. I have been running around all day doing this :cheer2:

So Denny is Halloween baby too? I was born on Halloween (explains a lot, no?) My big one is 2014.

No kidding? Another Halloween baby! Cool. I always feel like its hard to celebrate his b-day because it IS on Halloween. I think this will be a great way to celebrate. :thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo: for the cruise.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! :cool1: I have been on cloud 9 all day today. :thumbsup2

:faint::faint: that you even mentioned going with your brother in June. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yeah, really......what was I thinking? I must have had a moment there. I'm OK now. ;)

Ahh yay! A cruise! That's really exciting. Where does it sail to??

It's the 4 night Dream cruise that goes to the Bahamas. So one day is in the Bahamas, one day at Castaway Cay, and the last day is at sea.

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Needed the laugh. Thanks

Pat - that is exactly how I was yesterday. I could NOT stop laughing. I never even noticed the level I was at when I took the picture. Leave it to Glen!

:rotfl2:

YAY!!! That's great that you got the cruise booked!! :cool1:

The Dream is such a beautiful ship!

I am so excited! When my last rebate certificate came in I KNEW I had to book. So my deposit was basically only $100. Hey - I can do that. Every picture I have seen of the Dream is outstanding. I can't wait to see it in person. Its going to be amazing. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on booking the cruise!!! Yes, curious minds want to know what category please :) all the characters will be in their halloween garb, that'll be so cute!

I booked cat 6A. I knew I wanted a verandah and a high deck. For some reason the aft of the boat appeals to me. It just seems sort of cozy and isolated back there. I've read some mixed things and its not for everyone, but I really want to try it. I'm going to do some more research and if it seems like a bad idea I will rebook at cat 5D.

Keep an eye on the prices over the next year and you'll see how much they'll go up, it's crazy. My cruise is still 7 months away and the price for the same category is $1400 more than when I booked last November. With DCL early booking is very cost effective.

Wow - that's an amazing jump in prices. :faint: Yikes. I will really pay attention to that. Crazy.

Are you so ready to leave on vacation??????? You must be so excited by now!

That sounds cool and not horribly far away. It's like the drive to VA Tech, which is 6 or so hours from here. Not out of the range of doable.

It is doable and flights are uber cheap and frequent. I highly doubt she will end up there but you never know.

We'd originally booked 6A when we were on the Wonder. I was glad we were upgraded to 5 though because 6 will have the whitewall instead of clear. It's a nice location though, secluded but still close to stairs and elevator. On the dream we had to go with a family stateroom so that limited some of our choices a bit.

Good idea. And there is no way I could really go to Disney on my own. I will just have to postpone until Denny can travel. No wonder he can't wait to retire. :rotfl:

I really wish retirement wasn't so far away. But it is. FAR FAR away.

17 months away is really not that long. I'm not planning to do another girl's trip anytime soon because starting next year I can actually travel with Denny whenever we want (well, taking into consideration work restrictions). But I finally don't have to worry about school schedules! :cheer2: I'm only a little excited about that.
that will be wonderful not worrying about school schedules! It's a mixed bag, I want to get in what we can with all of them, while we can but...have some time for us. And somehow not go broke in the process. :rotfl:

ou know - I originally planned a nice trip for Nick's graduation and Hawaii would have been a great celebration, but he told me he doesn't want to vacation with us next year. Harsh, I know! But, I get it. It's what teens do and I know its a temporary thing. So, its his lost. Instead of doing a graduation trip, Denny and I are taking a cruise. So there!

I get it too. We may have one more in Kendall after all, she liked the cruise THAT much, but I'm not sure we can manage a trip with my family, and a cruise both in basically the same year as no matter how I play it, they'd be within 6 months of each other.

Yay for booking your cruise, sounds like so much fun!!! :dance3:

Haha, I can't believe you are considering going back to Disney with your brother! Although, being there with the kids must be fun, right? :thumbsup2

No kidding? Another Halloween baby! Cool. I always feel like its hard to celebrate his b-day because it IS on Halloween. I think this will be a great way to celebrate. :thumbsup2

I love having a Halloween birthday. Everyone is always excited about the day and it is very memorable. One would think...

Several years ago my husband forgot my birthday. We had been married for twenty-something years at that point. He left for work, no happy birthday greeting, no phone call, no email. I told one of my friends and she felt so badly for me, she sent me flowers. When Mark came home and saw them he asked

"Who are those from?"
"Tara"
"What for?"
"My birthday. It falls on Halloween this year."
"Oh"

It's the 4 night Dream cruise that goes to the Bahamas. So one day is in the Bahamas, one day at Castaway Cay, and the last day is at sea.

Sounds awesome!!!

I have abandoned my Atlantis TR for my class trip report, but if you have any questions...

Congrats on the cruise! I'm so jealous, not really.:thumbsup2
You are going to have a great time!

I missed on Gonzaga, I should have got that right as my DIL is from Spokane.:rotfl:

Beautiful pictures of the University. But man, they are getting ridiculously expensive. I'm just trying my best to pay off my loans for my Bachelor's and Master's degree's. It's not easy. I don't envy kids today.

Day 6 already? You're like an update machine.

Love the pictures you took on the run. I always forget how pretty a resort Saratoga is.

Man, rope drop two days in a row. That's definitely an accomplishment.

Jason and I designed our Sum of All Thrills and totally thought it would be crazy. So we're on it and just like "oh.....dang!"

Incessant apologizing. You sound very much like me. The opportunity has passed? What does that even mean. Ain't nobody got time for that (haha, if you want a laugh, type that sentence into youtube and watch the video. Hysterical!).

Wow, a DISmeet collision. That's awesome. It is funny that we feel like we know each other so well. The power of Disney.

I can never escape the Spaceship Earth swiss cheese head. I think the ride is trying to tell me something.

A cruise! That's awesome.

I booked cat 6A. I knew I wanted a verandah and a high deck. For some reason the aft of the boat appeals to me. It just seems sort of cozy and isolated back there. I have an aft stateroom booked as well and am very excited about it. People say the views when leaving port are just beautiful. Be careful though, a couple have very small verandahs which people have been very upset about. Have you checked the reviews on your stateroom yet? If you haven't they're right here on the Dis, just click the cruise link at the top and then staterooms, and from the dropdown menu pick room reports. It was very helpful choosing my room. If you find you have been given a room that seems unsavory you can always change it. Sorry if you aready know all this and it's a repeat.

Wow - that's an amazing jump in prices. :faint: Yikes. I will really pay attention to that. Crazy. !

I'm always amazed when I see the prices continue to go up.

What a bonus you had such a low deposit.

I'm sorry you're having to reschedule your HHI trip. Have you been able to pinpoint dates that will work?

Are you so ready to leave on vacation??????? You must be so excited by now!

I did some trip shopping today which really made things seem real. Starting to get really excited! :) Thanks!

I love that you made rope drop...again! I can never do that with my family...well rarely. they like to sleep for some dang reason.

I am so happy you booked the cruise too. I know all about long waits for a cruise. I think we booked our upcoming Nov. one last Oct. It seems like it's been being planned forever and it will go so fat once it comes.

YAY for booking a cruise! How exciting!
I giggled a little when I read that instead of cancelling next spring, you're thinking about going with your bro!

I have so enjoyed your trip report. I live in MD. The neighboorhood around U of MD is horrible and crime ridden. I suggest looking at Towson University. My students that went to Towson and Salisbury have loved it.

It is doable and flights are uber cheap and frequent. I highly doubt she will end up there but you never know.

That's right, you never know and uber cheap flights are a good thing!

I knew about the whitewall, but apparently its pretty low and you can see right over it when sitting. I am doing my research. ;)

I really wish retirement wasn't so far away. But it is. FAR FAR away.

I have mixed feelings about retiring. Part of me has no interest in it and the other part of me thinks - wow - this is so much I could do, including being a TA part time. I think I would like that.

that will be wonderful not worrying about school schedules! It's a mixed bag, I want to get in what we can with all of them, while we can but...have some time for us. And somehow not go broke in the process. :rotfl:

I decided when my kids hit school age that I wanted to vacation with them as much as possible. I knew that I got tired of vacationing with my parents by the time I hit high school, so I anticipated the same from them. Fortunately, I think they will have good memories of all their vacations.

I get it too. We may have one more in Kendall after all, she liked the cruise THAT much, but I'm not sure we can manage a trip with my family, and a cruise both in basically the same year as no matter how I play it, they'd be within 6 months of each other.

So glad that K really liked the cruise. That's awesome. A cruise AND a big family vacation does sound like a bit much, money wise and planning wise.

Yay for booking your cruise, sounds like so much fun!!! :dance3:

I am really excited about it. I mean, I knew we were going to do it, but now that its actually done I feel like this :cloud9:

Haha, I can't believe you are considering going back to Disney with your brother! Although, being there with the kids must be fun, right? :thumbsup2

The whole reason I did it was to be with the kids. I really do want to go back with them at some point, but probably not YET!

Yay for booking the cruise!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am very excited about it! Now I have 14 months to become a cruise expert. It will be fun to explore a different side of Disney.

I love having a Halloween birthday. Everyone is always excited about the day and it is very memorable. One would think...

Several years ago my husband forgot my birthday. We had been married for twenty-something years at that point. He left for work, no happy birthday greeting, no phone call, no email. "Who are those from?"
"Tara"
"What for?"
"My birthday. It falls on Halloween this year."
"Oh"

:rotfl2: OMG - that is such a funny story. "It falls on Halloween this year". :rotfl2: I bet he hasn't forgotten your birthday since.

Sounds awesome!!!

I have abandoned my Atlantis TR for my class trip report, but if you have any questions...

I am sure I will have a ton of questions about Atlantis. Right now I am just trying to learn about the boat. That's a task in and of itself. I can't wait to see Atlantis. It looks amazing.

Congrats on booking your cruise, you are going to love it!

Thanks and I know - it just looks and sounds like such an amazing experience. I can't wait! I am so happy its booked. It makes it much more real! :woohoo:

Congrats on the cruise! I'm so jealous, not really.:thumbsup2
You are going to have a great time!

Thanks...and I know, I am so excited. I never thought I would want to do a cruise, but now I can hardly wait!!!!!!!

I missed on Gonzaga, I should have got that right as my DIL is from Spokane.:rotfl:

Hey - you are still WAY ahead of me. I never even heard the name. I guess, in some ways, living on the east coast isolates you because you never think of colleges west of Pittsburg. that's a bad way to look at things. I have to say that the University of Montanna looks pretty darn cool.

Beautiful pictures of the University. But man, they are getting ridiculously expensive. I'm just trying my best to pay off my loans for my Bachelor's and Master's degree's. It's not easy. I don't envy kids today.

College tuition is ridiculous. My husband went to Villanova, took out loans, and paid everything back in a year or two. My husband had NO $ growing up, but was able to afford it. Fast forward - Nick has two parents with good paying jobs, but at almost $60K a year there is NO WAY he will apply to Villanova. He will be paying off loans for life and we don't want him to be in that position. It's just a darn shame because he has the academics and they have a good legecy readmission rate.

Day 6 already? You're like an update machine.

Not really, but I am trying to update twice a week when I can. I'd like to have this almost wrapped up when we leave for the October trip.

Love the pictures you took on the run. I always forget how pretty a resort Saratoga is.

It really is a pretty resort. I love it and I am looking forward to the next time I might stay there, whenever that might be?

Man, rope drop two days in a row. That's definitely an accomplishment.

Tell me about it. We were on a roll!!!!!

Jason and I designed our Sum of All Thrills and totally thought it would be crazy. So we're on it and just like "oh.....dang!"

That's exactly how I felt. It always seems like the ride is going to be good and then it ends up a little underwhelming and then you never feel like going through the line again. Too much preshow and emptying of the pockets.

Incessant apologizing. You sound very much like me. The opportunity has passed? What does that even mean. Ain't nobody got time for that (haha, if you want a laugh, type that sentence into youtube and watch the video. Hysterical!).

I am going to do that. Yeah - "the opportunity has passed" Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Ugh - that's when I KNEW I had to walk away. :faint:

Wow, a DISmeet collision. That's awesome. It is funny that we feel like we know each other so well. The power of Disney.

It is crazy, but everytime I have met a DISer in real life I always feel like I know them. I really think its because we write and don't talk (except on rare occasions). There is something much more intimate about the written word and I think it gives you a better glimpse into someone's personality.

I can never escape the Spaceship Earth swiss cheese head. I think the ride is trying to tell me something.

LOL.......me too! The worst part - my holes get bigger everytime I go on it. That can't be good! :rolleyes1

A cruise! That's awesome.

I can't wait! I think its going to be a great experience.

yay for the cruise

I am so very excited for this very new Disney experience. The ship just looks A-mazing and its going to be a wonderfull treat! :cool1:
