We have a trip planned in August. I can see you trying it out for a day, but for every day of our trip? It would be too expensive.

We're planning our first trip in July. Right now, I think I'll probably try it, depending on how things are going by that point. Since it includes photopass, which I was planning to get anyway, it's not too much for the 5 of us for 3 days.

Maybe. It depends on too many factors which are not known right now and I would want to see how things end up before making a decision.

If it's truly $10 per PERSON, then I absolutely will not use it. $70 a day for our family would be ridiculous.

That's what parks blog is saying. They are saying $10 per a ticket (person) so it seems yes 10 a person even thought 1 person will be able to manage all allotments if I understand their replies correctly.

Our family is only three, so this won't be that much for us, we will definitely use it. I can understand larger families not liking it, but then everything is more expensive if you have a larger family -- that's one of the great benefits of having an only child!

Frankly I'm more upset about paying $17 per day for self parking at DLH than I am about this upcharge.

I'm planning a trip to DL in July. For 1 or 2 people it might be okay, but I have 5. Unless there is something more that I'm missing, I would not pay $250 for this. I went to WDW this summer & paid $129 for Memory Maker unlimited photos, $0 to make FPP on my phone, AND I got a magic band. I love the idea but it's too expensive for me. Maybe after the introductory prices they will offer a family plan. Then maybe. My vote was no.

I am also going to wait to see how the Max Pass plays out before deciding. I have a trip in March as a chaperone for my daughter's band. I don't see myself using it for that trip (assuming it's even in place by then), because I'll either be with a bunch of teenagers who a) have different budgets for the trip or b) change their mind every three minutes about which attraction to do next and even their paper Fastpasses went unused 75% of the time. Or, if I'm not with the kids, I'm hanging out with the other parents and trying to arrange a plan is almost impossible. I feel like I end up along for the ride. Last year I slipped away for some solo time, but mostly ended up listening to musical groups and taking pictures (no need for any type of fastpasses for those activities).

Now, my June trip will be different. It will just be me and my 11 year old daughter. When we go as a family, my DH or I act as FP runner while everyone else stops for a snack, show, or ride. Since it will just be the two of us and I obviously wouldn't want to leave DD alone, we'd both be doing a lot of criss crossing of both parks to get fastpasses. This is where I can see that for $20/day it might be way more efficient to get the Max Pass. I don't know that we would get it for our first day, though, since we wouldn't be getting into the parks until mid-morning at the earliest. This is where I'd want to see what the trend is showing for how quickly the passed start to run out.

It'll just be my daughter and I on our trip this year so we'll probably try it out if it's even up and running when we're there!

It depends on crowd levels to me. If we're looking at an 8-10 level crowd, it might be worth it. If it's a 3-5 level, not so much. Basically, it's a day-by-day determination. We're just three people, though, with one Signature AP and two Deluxe. If we were a larger family, that would make a difference.

It's just me and my 6 year old son, so I don't have a fp runner, so $20 a day would be a pretty good deal. I don't get many fastpasses now, so I can see getting at least 3 or so extra per day with the max pass.

It definitely cheaper than the front of the line at universal, or the legoland option, or the six flags option.

Sucks, but I will probably do it. Will have to bring my phone charger into the park with me, since my battery life will be cut WAY short using their app all day, as will everyone else, so finding a plug to recharge my phone battery will also be a premium, HEY maybe they can charge for that TOO!

Yes, no, maybe!? LOL (I marked unsure)

It sounds like there may be an option to add this to your AP. If that is the case I would probably add MaxPass to my own DAP just for the photopass because I really like the idea of having Photopass all year, but I don't want to pay the extra $250 to get the next pass when we don't need parking since we always stay in hotels. This could potentially be a nice benefit for photopass, obviously I wouldn't be using it for FP as the rest of my family would not have the benefit.

I would consider buying it for everyone's AP only if it was reasonable. I think about $50 (same cost as adding to a 5-day ticket) would be worth it to add to our APs for the year as the convenience would be nice and we could use it for every trip. If it was $100 per AP though I would say, "No."

The nice thing is we don't have to decide now. We'll be purchasing our passes soon, but we're not going to DL until June, so it isn't a decision I have to make for another 5 months. Hopefully they'll get the system running by Spring Break season and we can all get an idea of how it plays out.

I couldn't imagine it being say $50 since the next up AP that include photopass and parking is as you put it 250 extra. I could see them perhaps giving it to the top tier and then doing a small charge for the lower APs that does not include photos just fp booking.

Well the addition of photos was a big deal for the MaxPass, and the blog said they would have options for AP holders. It may very well be more than $50, I was just saying if it was that cheap I would buy it for my whole family. If it's closer to $100 I would probably just purchase for my AP for the photo benefit. Keep in mind that the $250 more expensive AP has no blockout dates (except 2 weeks at Christmas) and includes parking and photopass. So it is a lot more included for that $250. The rumor is the higher passes will get the MaxPass for "free." So they can't charge an extra $150 just for MaxPass for a Deluxe AP or the value differential isn't there. Unless they make those higher APs cost even more than $250 more than a DAP. Again we don't really know yet, and fortunately don't have to decide yet.

The black outs make much more sense. I have to admit I don't know DL AP structure so didn't know how far down from the top you had to go to start losing a substantial amount of days etc. So yeah if it was $100 because you have blackouts too then that would make sense.

Nope. $50/day for my family is ridiculous. Completely stupid!!! I don't mind being the runner - especially at parks as small as DL and DCA. Now I'm in competition with people who can dole out the extra cash and stand still to book a FP.

I would try it out. And not everyone has someone in their group capable of being the 'runner'.
